Also remember you can add more depth as your do your later drafts. Get your first draft down and then go back. You will know them much better at this point. After a while they will tell you all about themselves and will surprise the heck out of you!

I came across it kind of late. I don't have my outline done yet, but if don't really see a downside. If I get any writing done, I win!

some stupid kid put his head through a hatch and got it knocked off. How is it anyone's fault but his own? How do you not know that is dangerous and stupid? You can't protect people from stupid. -
I come from the Marketing/Media world and you test/focus group everything. It is always amazing to hear what other people thought your message was.

A number of years ago I met this amazing man that was HIV+, we tried to do the whole very safe sex thing, but I could never get it out of my mind that he had a very deadly (back then) disease that I could catch. I just couldn't do it. I felt like a putz but I had watched so many of my friends die from that damn virus I just couldn't do it. -

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but when I am really stuck I work on a different story for a while. I always have a few things going. I find somethings just need to rest for a while.

I don't know if you were refering to the blog function on this site, but for a stand alone blog, I really like WordPress.com. It is pretty easy to use. You can do a lot with their free options or you can get a custom domain name. I refer my less tech inclined friends there. --Stephen
