Aww, thanks Caz. I'm repeating myself, but it really is a relief whenever my readers praise me for this chapter. Writing sex scenes is hard, but phone sex is fiendishly difficult.
Well, sometimes these things just slip out when you least expect it. Thanks for being so diligent with reviewing, it's nice to revisit old chapters and comments this way.
I guess this was the chapter which finally softened my opinion about jack's mom. She may have failed with her own kids in some ways, but her heart is big enough and warm enough to embrace Linc and give him what he needs. And though she may be doing it partly for Jack's sake (as she says herself), I think she also appreciates Linc for his own sake. As anyone who knows him does - well apart from his bastard parents. I shall try and forget about them and focus on Linc's wonderful brother, I'm so glad he's there for Linc and that he does not seem to have suffered from Linc leaving. This should ease Linc's bad conscience on this point, and I know he must be so happy to know his brother loves him well. Good thinking on Jack's part to include Jackson on the visitor list, but they both do these things for each other - and it makes me shed a tear or two. Still hating the hospital for the not-family deal - and the media for the man-hunt - and the haters for the horrid comments about BFs.
“Now why on earth would I do that?” Rob put on his best innocent face, but Eric rolled his eyes at his older brother. ‘Nice try, bro,’ he thought.
“I don’t know why, but you seem to enjoy prying into my relationship with Nelson, and that’s why I told you not to ask questions about what we were doing with our time.”
“You realize you’re more or less admitting that whatever it was, you’re too embarrassed to talk about it,” Rob pointed out.
“Whatever. I can’t prevent you from making u
Thanks JAR and your reward is a Rob chapter. Soon...
But if you knew the effort it takes for me to write credible romance, you'd pity me (and my beta / editors).
Årrh, tak Victor, elsker osse dig.
I think that's the most emoticons I've had in a review ever, LOL. I'm glad you liked your birthday present, and sorry it was so late. But I wanted it to be perfect.
I'm glad you can relate to them, since you and Drew are probably my readers closest to them in age etc. So having you praise this chapter means a lot to me.
I promise there will be more chapters where they can take a shower and work on their shyness.
Yes, but to be a friend is very different to being a lover. And those who employ Daventry would love to have a thing like this to hold over Granger's head. Maybe I'm wrong, but I simply noticed how adeptly Granger managed to converse on the matter without giving any hint of his own interests. I believe it was on purpose, because Daventry is not a friend and because such information would be a danger to George if passed on to Daventry's superiors. However, it's probably the way Granger acts with anyone he's not going to seduce, LOL.
Aww Gary, you're making me blush and do a little dance of joy (a gay dance?). I hoped your romantic heart would approve, and every S word was another bright star to hang on my author wall of happy moments.
I'm glad you (and others) mention the research. You did that aspect so well in COTT and SAD, and I want to at least mention the need and the difficulty to find useful stuff. And of course it could be fun too, if I can figure out how to write it.
Nelson working out why he was unable to resist Eric was an important moment for me too. In fact I struggled a lot with this chapter, rewriting it several times, but when I wrote that part everything suddenly clicked.
Eric becoming like Rob - I think it's the self-confidence he is gaining, from being loved by Nelson. But of course Rob has several good qualities to be appreciated and imitated. I'm sure Team Rob agrees.
A friend of mine once had to teach a group of college students, but someone had used the computer in the class room to look at porn sites. Every five minutes this ad with half-naked full-breasted girls popped up in the middle of the presentation. At first the students giggled but after half an hour even they got fed up.
It's very cool to have support in how Nelson and Eric progress, because I think the urge to go straight for the big prize, as you say, can often get in the way of building a relationship to last. And particularly when it's inexperienced high school teens. But talking about it is fine, I think.
I was relieved George stayed quiet about his own interests in men in the conversations with Daventry, but of course Granger is much to clever to give someone like him such a bargaining chip, it would be dangerous and stupid.
Well, I think Melanie has pretty much ignored Eric so far and Eric has certainly avoided her. So I'm not sure she would have known how Rob felt about his brother, particularly since all their conversations probably revolved around her or Rob.
But Rob as single is sure to cause some nice waves.
Thanks, Isaac, I'm glad you approve of Victor's gift. I know this story is idealistic, but when you tell me it portrays what you would have wanted for yourself, I know I've hit exactly the right note.
Shyness in the shower - that's almost a story title in itself.
Yeah, Mr. Perry is understanding, but you have to remember he did his dealing-with-horny-teen learning with Rob. But I'm always happy when readers appreciate the parents in my stories, because I think we tend to forget all the good ones out there and focus on the drama created by the not-so-great parents.
Nah, Jazz always thinks about what he says, so it was quite deliberate. He likes to tease Nelson - and to be fair he's had to put up with quite a bit of joking about being bewitched by Carolyn.
The Tinas of the World are best ignored.
Yikes Caz, that's embarassing, but sort of hilarious too. I had sex-ed in school, that was OK, but as far as I recall only covered heterosexual stuff. So what about you own kids? Will they get a link to a web site?
Ha, ha, Caz, I loved this review. I'm not sure Rob's character was fully formed by the time his parents had Eric, but in any case I'm sure they're relieved to have a more quiet ssecond son.
Yeah, perhaps Eric's mum did jump a bit far ahead... and perhaps not.
Maybe Eric felt Rob deserved to know, since he did after all get the ball rolling. Or perhaps he just knew Rob would keep nagging, lol.
At least Eric doesn't have to worry about breaking the news of his boyfriend too.
