the manuscript has in fact now been fully edited by the glorious Kitt, but the shiny and polished version is going to be for the published book. that way, people who buy the work actually get something else for their money. Why is Jared deaf? There are a thousand reasons. i knew a deaf guy at college and we were good friends. i always wondered what had happened to him. Because there are too many stories about 'normal' people. Because i thought it would be interesting. Because i wanted an excuse to learn to sign, and i knew someone IRL who could help with that. Because being the deaf kid (and by proxy, the chef-with-one-leg and the quadriplegic-jock) doesn't mean that you can't get a happily ever after too. Because there are seven billion people on this planet, and it feels nice to try something new. mostly though, the answer is because Jared, deaf, lovely, sweet, experienced Jared, showed up in my head. that was how he was. it was not a conscious decision, very very little of my writing ever is.

They fucked for days. Apart from meal times, as reminded by Tobias, or Zai, or Jahke, they never left the room. the bigger question here is, why would you want to?

I am an ASMR kid. my triggers are whispering, soft tapping, mouth sounds, binaural whispering and breathing is awesome. sometimes crinkles are good too. the best place to explore ASMR is on youtube, where there are any number of ASMR artists who makes videos for the tinglyness and relaxation of others. My favourite of these is a lovely russian lady called Maria: GentleWhispering and the oh-so-talented ASMRequests, who does a favulous selection of videos including off world Sci-fi roleplays. cool eh? as far as i know, not everyone 'has' ASMR and some people have different triggers than others. i think most people like having their hair washed/touched etc, but that will depend on how tactile you are and how much empathy you have. IRL, i know very few other people who experience the tingles associated with ASMR.

i agree with Myi. we should celebrate each victory, and be grateful for those who went before. but i don't think any good comes from feeling guilty that other went through shite before us. that wasn't our fault. Brad Paisley has a song on very similar lines to do with accidental racism, about being a proud white southern boy, but wanting to understand what it's like not to be one. i think we're on a level peg with that.

EXP can be handed out and decided by the GM's based on character experiences. so if your character flirts with someone (possibly successfully) the GM can say "+2 charisma" and voila. each character keeps a rolling sheet with their stats. i realise that i am clinging rather to my idea of dice, but RPG's without dice scare me...

we're in. i really think the character sheet needs a bit of D&D style structure. x number of points to put into 5 or so slots for personality/skills/traits. it will make it easier to build characters for anyone who hasn't played before and is going to help keep things on an even keel.

something new would be nice? something not batman/spiderman/xmen/iron man. can we not have some new super heroes maybe?

kissing in the rain is awesome. very steamy stuff. however i have a question. lots of stuff is being written from Asher's POV, but his PT, rehab, and injury hasn't been mentioned in ages. last time it was, he still couldn't use one arm at all, but then he's making salad and running his hands through Michael's hair. exactly how long has it been since he got out of hospital? on the other hand, this is still excellent, just with one little niggle. good stuff KC
