    I'm not sure it's really the money which Jian is upset over, it's just that's the sharp edge of the knife right now. Having no money, none, does bad things to the psyche.

    Our neighbour along the street was one of the first people to move onto the new block of houses when they were first being built, so while we lived in a building site with pet builders for a year, they did for 5 years. Their son Logan is now four, and the builders have been gone about 7 months. From pretty much the moment he had opinions, Logan would demand to be held up at the window of their third floor bedroom to watch the diggers. As he got older, he stood on a stool his mum placed there entirely for that purpose. He used to come into the site office (back when Dashi was a little puppy and favourite pet of all our builders) and they would ruffle his hair and give him biscuits. He still is, apparently, totally obsessed with building sites and diggers. And like Dashi, instantly feels that anyone in a high-vis jacket is a potential friend (and in Dashi's case, source of food). Thanks for the post, very very cute.

    Well Todd and family were black bears, and Paddy was a spectacled bear.... I’ve never written a grizzly, they're sort of terrifying. Someone has been in my head, clearly. Why is there a tiger jacket????

    Yes. don't try. the skin on your lips is super thin, good sticky tape will rip it off. I discovered this aged 12 while wrapping christmas presents. spent christmas week looking like I'd been in a fight and split my lip.

    If you've been hanging around my stories, you'll know my guys so like to leave... evidence. Some of them do take after me after all. Also, it's easy to draw blood from lips, even accidentally as anyone who has ever tried to hold sticky tape between their teeth with attest. I like your foregone conclusion! Teenagers will do what teenagers will do... and they'll do it anywhere!
