    Hoping all is well.

    Chapter 37

I am constantly amazed at your ability to maintain not just one but two epic tales at the same time. It is interesting to find a dashing young man that Granger has not even attempted to bed, nor does he seem to be tempted by. No wonder some of us are suspicious of him. I expected more angst from Granger when he had to watch Valiant sail into battle without him, in spite of his confidence in Weston.

    Chapter 14

Just discovered Black Widiw on Friday. Loving it. Way to go JJ! I'm gong to have to take a few more days rereading to put all the pieced together. Has anyone been brave enough to compile a "family tree"?

    Chapter 34

I only began reading the series in 2012. The title Oddesy caught my eye and after reading the first chapter I decided I'd best go back and start at the beginning. Very glad I did. I was also glad when I caught up and was prevented from going on s reading binge - eyes burning at two in the morning so I could get in one more chapter. I fear we have not heard the last of the Elgins, bad pennies just keep turning up. I have no doubt the quest for the one eyed priest will yield some surprises as well. You always keep us guessing.

    Chapter 50

I've been following quietly from the start (books 1 & 2) and love to speculate on what's going to happen next. I'm often surprised by what comes up, and I'm sure the characters have surprised you from time to time as well. Keep up the good work - and the good writing!

    Chapter 3

Well, I was at the opposite end of the spectrum from Lynette, I thought Tom was going to tell him that it was a family company and Noah, in spite of the name change wasn't family. I'm still blind about the seeds of discontent, except for a lot of changes. I imagine I'll be enlightened as time goes on. Waiting with anticipation for the next chapter.

    Chapter 1

I ran across this on Nifty, although I have been a Moving On reader for some time (and occasional commenter.) I've now signed on to the Moving On website, so don't know if I will post here much, although I did find Moving On while perusing Gay Authors. I dearly hope Zach doesn't get hurt too badly by this. I was a surrogate stepdad for 6 years, when his dad and I broke up it got very messy and I know the boy was hurt and confused and the father made sure there was nothing I could do about it. No doubt there is a long and winding road that led to the separation / breakup / whatever. But you are still an "Evil Bitch". LOL Can't wait for the next installment, on whatever forum i read it from.

    Chapter 44

you had me in tears. well done.

    Chapter 41

A couple of centuries ago when I was young we used to visit San Francisco every year the day after Thanksgiving. It wasn't known as Black Friday back then, and while somewhat crowded the stores weren't packed. Mostly the day was marked by the appearance of Santa in all the big department stores, and the fact that Christmas decorations had magically appeared as well. Looking back on it I can imagine that there wasn't a store decorator in any urban area that ever got to actually enjoy Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving day. Oh for the days when Christmas decorations really didn't show up till after Thanksgiving. I'm glad you decided not to have Scott detained by TSA, but you are a meanie making us worry about the baby. I would have enjoyed hearing more about Zack and the Princess Spider Pan outfit, explaining it to people, etc. And jamming Halloween and Thanksgiving into a single chapter when writing a story that has become quite child centered . . . hummm. Good thing you write so well, these things are overshadowed by your talent.

    Chapter 9

nice to see alex showing some muscle when bonnie started pushing again. and yes she is trying to make kei's life what she believes it should be, which of course is not whats best for him but best for her, she is unable to see the difference between the two. very nice transitional chapter.

    Chapter 38

Well Zach's move to the center of the story is certainly true to life. I had the joy of playing stepdad for almost 6 years. Glad to see the father move on, but loosing the son in my life was a killer. As anyone with children or who has dated someone with children knows, they become the pivot point around which everything else must be balanced. I'm very glad you broke the chapter in half, much more readable this way and it give the people important in Scott's life a chance to shine on their own. It's hard to compete with Disney after all.
  13. ". . . she's not only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead." I never really doubted it, but I'm glad to have it confirmed. Aside from that I am going to miss Atlantis, her crew, the Professor and Mary Ann; oh wait.. wrong ship, wrong story. It has been quite a ride, and although I came somewhat late to the story (not quite a year ago) my Tuesday's haven't been the same without news from the far reaches of the globe. Would have been nice to have attended the wedding, perhaps the goatwriter will see fit to incorporate that into some other tale some other time. And while it is clear he has earned a break from writing, I look forward to whatever he has in store for us.

    Valentines Day

Looks like i picked the right time to start reading this story, hope you won't let it drop again for so long, but I understand that sometimes the muse just stays away. You have a unique ability to work the sex scenes in so naturally, make them an integral part of the story. I've totally bought in to your characters, even Tom the Tormented. God knows Mark is going to get hurt somewhere along the line, but such is life sometimes. Max is going to absolutely freak. They are going to have to put him back in that hospital bed with both the wrist and ankle restraints. Loving it.
  15. not sure how long ago this was written. started reading the chapters a day or so ago and have gotten wrapped up in the story. to be honest its nice to have a chapter end where i'm not sitting on the edge of my chair wondering what comes next. i think if i had to read it a chapter at a time it would drive me nuts. very well written.

    Mom knows best

been a while since you posted on this. hope everything is OK
  17. I "came late to the story" and got to read the first few chapters all at once. I'm going nuts with waiting. Very very good. Keeps me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to watch them play 'guess who's coming to dinner.' Will Tom and his family be invited?

    Chapter 7

I've just read the fist 6 chapters and am thoroughly hooked. If I were Kei I wouldn't wake up in the middle of all this for anything, and I don't think it's coincidence that he phased out while his mother and Alex were arguing. I haven't read all the comments, so maybe I'm not saying anything new. My dad was in a coma for several days some years ago. When he did wake up he was still confused about many things and it took a couple of weeks before he approached normal. The wife of someone he worked with -whom he had never met - came and spent a lot of time with him. Reading, talking, etc. She was retired and had the time. When he did wake up and she came to visit he said to her "I have no idea who the hell you are or why you are here, but I know you've been here a lot." I don't know what Kai will or won't know when he wakes up, or how much will come back to him over time. Some things probably won't ever come back. But I'm sure he will remember who was there for him, even if he doesn't understand why.
  19. chapter 6 was kinda bumpy, this one was great. I don't think Travis is the only one with issues to resolve, but Cody helped show us that a couple of chapters ago. Clearly Jason is going to end up in a very difficult position. Mallory must be enjoying the view from the near sidelines.
  20. I read chapters 1 - 4 last night, 5 this morning. If only you could write as fast as I read, but then the only tension would be in your writing style. Yes, your writing provides enough tension, as well some laughter, and deep thinking. I'm guessing there will be some tears here and there when appropriate as well. I like the way you are developing the characters slowly enough for us to get to know them, more and more revealed with each chapter. Corey is amazingly aware for a 12 year old, but for those of us who have had a 12 year old around the house, Cory is a totally believable character. At 15 or 16 they stop being so observant and aware, but at that age . . . Good job, looking forward to more.
  21. i also notice that the summary page shows the story as last updated in April. for some reason the final chapter doesn't show up anywhere. when i sent a message to gayauthors they said there wasn't a notification problem that the last chapter was in april. dumb dumb dumb. and finally, when do we start clamoring for the epilogue?
  22. so why does the gayauthors summary still show this as zero words?
  23. Dealing with the idea of people not dying of incurable diseases I can do. Having a gay man in a stable, rewarding, intimate relationship with a woman crosses the line. In no way have you ever intimated that David was even remotely bi-sexual. This is a real blot on the story line and all that your characters have worked for and worked through for so many chapters. It feeds way to much into the "its a choice" mentality. I've known gay people who were in committed caring relationships with people of the opposite sex because that was the only option available to them. None of those people would do it again if they had the choice. They know what they cheated themselves out of. As much as I have enjoyed the story, I can't buy into that aspect of it. Could David be captivated by the doctors caring, her brilliance, sure. Could they build a life together as caring friends, absolutely. But when you have David say: “The surprising thing is that Rebecca and I love each other very much, and our relationship is very much physical. Being with a woman doesn’t change anything. I’m still gay and always will be gay. I’m not in any way attracted to other women but I love my wife and I enjoy making love to her. It feels . . . natural.” you do a great injustice to all gay people everywhere.
  24. Of course anything was possible, but the Judge easily could have given custody only to the biological parent, Noah, without continuing Scott's custody. I agree with Daithi, the detective's visit most likely has something to do with Steve, or with Steve's death. So long as it doesn't mess up the vacation plans. LOL. Such a smooth, easy writing style. Very enjoyable reading.
  25. Crew and ship safe and marginally sound. What more could we ask for. The chapter was long, but somehow a fast read. Captivating and well worth the wait.
