    Loz

Loz understands himself better now, has come to terms with who he is. He still has a ways to go but he's definitely making the most out of this second chance. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

    Loz

My new form tutor put a hand on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze. She was a petite blonde woman whose head barely reached my shoulder, so I thought it must have looked odd. ‘All right, settle down, everyone! This is your new classmate Lawrence—’ ‘Loz,’ I interjected. ‘I go by Loz.’ ‘I’m sorry, Loz. This is Loz, he’ll be joining us starting today. I’m sure you’ll all be friendly and welcoming to him.’ She smiled sweetly and I was sure I wasn’t imagining some of the frankly soppy look

It's so much fun getting back to this. I love this story! Russel seems like he's about to cause trouble... Does Ursula know more than she's letting on? Looking forward to seeing Jed and Wolfgang's relationship with Franklin continue to evolve.

I have found lately that my attempts at communication have been met with a lot of misunderstanding... I have tried to alter my words accordingly, but it isn't always enough. And I know that I myself am guilty of attempting to see beyond the words and seeing the wrong thing. Assuming sarcasm where there is none. Expecting hostility when people try to be kind. It's a vicious circle. Thanks for your comments, Parker. ❤️
  5. Beautiful.

This made me sad... But it's a good poem.
  7. A well thought out piece. Can't help but feel called out somehow... All I can say is that you are truly and definitely worthy.

Wonderful poem. Also heartbreaking, though... Glad you managed to get your feelings into words. ❤️

you cannot see my face and i cannot see yours you can’t hear my inflection and i cannot hear yours you can only read my words as i can read yours and words are hard they lie words alone do not tell all they are letters on a page and it’s too easy to misunderstand but promise to read my words in the kindest way you can and i will do the same for you then maybe words will t
  10. Oh! I started reading this when it was in its first couple of chapters and then I went on my hiatus and forgot all about it... Thank you for reminding me, @Puppilull! Gonna have to go back and finish it.

A sweet and wonderful ending to a sweet and wonderful story. Wren and Caleb deserve to have everything they want. ❤️
  12. Hi! I can't recall if we've met.
  13. Not too bad, so far. Yourself?

Thank you for reading it. I appreciate your comments. ❤️
  15. Good morning, everyone. Hope you're all well today. More festival today. Highlights will be girl in red and Robyn (not a huge fan, but I hear she's awesome live). Have a great day!
  16. Back from festival. We were all too tired to watch any of the headliners, but we caught Sigrid which, holy shit, I have a new favourite, I think. It's not normally my genre, but her music just makes me feel good and she was such a remarkable live performer. So genuine and unaffected and the energy was amazing. I cried from the sheer power of it on this song (which I am now sharing with absolutely everyone I know, lol). This will be my new cheer-up song. When I feel awful, this is what I will listen to and feel better.
  17. I was lucky enough to see this remarkable young lady in concert today. It's not normally my genre, but omg, I had such a good time, she was so good, and this song just makes me so happy!
  18. Time to head to the festival. Talk to you all later! Hope you have a good day.
  19. Didn't mean to cause offence. Sorry.
  20. My apologies. Being in the process of self-publishing a book myself, it's possible that I'm a little bit defensive.
  21. Well, I know a lot of highly talented writers who self-publish... Some definitely bring the average quality down by quite a bit, but... I don't think it's fair to judge everyone by that. It's hard to get published by mainstream publishers, especially writing queer fiction, and there are a lot of bogus indie publishers who make you pay for stuff.
  22. A lot of self-publishing services you don't actually pay for at all... I mean, unless you're ordering the books and distributing them yourself. Amazon KDP does physical books as well as Kindle. They just do paperbacks, though, so not an option for a picture book. I'd probably have to go Lulu which is more iffy but, eh.
  23. I posted a children's story on here once, too. Teddy. It was well received, too. I think people like seeing something different. Actually just got some illustrations I commissioned for it. Not sure what to do with them yet, but may see about trying to find an indie publisher for it or something. Or, failing that, self-publish, cause those illustrations deserve to be seen.
