Right back at you!
-
Hi! I can't recall if we've met.
-
Not too bad, so far. Yourself?
-
Thank you for reading it. I appreciate your comments. ❤️

Good morning, everyone. Hope you're all well today. More festival today. Highlights will be girl in red and Robyn (not a huge fan, but I hear she's awesome live). Have a great day!
-
Back from festival. We were all too tired to watch any of the headliners, but we caught Sigrid which, holy shit, I have a new favourite, I think. It's not normally my genre, but her music just makes me feel good and she was such a remarkable live performer. So genuine and unaffected and the energy was amazing. I cried from the sheer power of it on this song (which I am now sharing with absolutely everyone I know, lol). This will be my new cheer-up song. When I feel awful, this is what I will listen to and feel better.

I was lucky enough to see this remarkable young lady in concert today. It's not normally my genre, but omg, I had such a good time, she was so good, and this song just makes me so happy!
-
Time to head to the festival. Talk to you all later! Hope you have a good day.
-
Didn't mean to cause offence. Sorry.
-
My apologies. Being in the process of self-publishing a book myself, it's possible that I'm a little bit defensive.
-
Well, I know a lot of highly talented writers who self-publish... Some definitely bring the average quality down by quite a bit, but... I don't think it's fair to judge everyone by that. It's hard to get published by mainstream publishers, especially writing queer fiction, and there are a lot of bogus indie publishers who make you pay for stuff.
-
A lot of self-publishing services you don't actually pay for at all... I mean, unless you're ordering the books and distributing them yourself. Amazon KDP does physical books as well as Kindle. They just do paperbacks, though, so not an option for a picture book. I'd probably have to go Lulu which is more iffy but, eh.

I posted a children's story on here once, too. Teddy. It was well received, too. I think people like seeing something different. Actually just got some illustrations I commissioned for it. Not sure what to do with them yet, but may see about trying to find an indie publisher for it or something. Or, failing that, self-publish, cause those illustrations deserve to be seen.

Same. Glad you've been doing better, though, even if today isn't a great day.
-
Thank you, Parker. These are difficult feelings to process. And the world is so full of conflicting ideas, opinions and messages. It helps to write things down.
-
Thank you. It feels like it should be such a minor thing, just someone who doesn't get it, but... it adds up to a lot in the end.

Morning, everybody! My cats woke me up early, I'd like to sleep for like another five hours, but that's not happening, unfortunately. That's what it's like having a little kitten, I guess, lol! Hope you all have a wonderful day! The best part was really that they were having a blast. The last time I saw them (which was the first time) they were great, but last night they just had so much energy. You could clearly see that they were enjoying themselves so much up there, and that just took it above and beyond. My friend I was with, who's a huuuuge fan and has seen them like a dozen times, said that this was hands-down the best The Cure show they had ever seen. It's been 4 years since I last went to this festival. It feels good to be there again, even though this year's line-up (aside from The Cure) is a bit so-so. Today I'll probably just camp out by one of the stages and wander a little bit and see what looks interesting.

Wow, that's sudden! We had a bit of unexpected rain today at the festival, but it passed quick enough. Goodnight, DiC. I'm exhausted after my day. Time to sleep.
-
Thank you, Parker. Your words mean a lot. ❤️

Hey, everyone. I just got home. Been at a music festival all day. Going back tomorrow. The Cure were headlining this evening. Such a good show! They were all very happy and playful, and I swear Robert Smith and I held eye contact for a good ten seconds at one point, lol! I was all the way in front. They played a bunch of songs from Disintegration, which is one of my favourite albums of all time. From when they played Lullaby:

The bit about the sacrifice I think is probably artistic license used in the movie, lol! For one, the term goes all the way back to Ancient Greece, not just Rome. It simply refers to the star Sirius (the Dog Star) rising together with the sun. Nice little National Geographic piece on it here. Good questions and great answers, as always! Thank for putting it together, Carlos!

Swearword in the title, so I'm putting the video in a spoiler, just in case, lol

It's nice to see Wade doing the right thing. Even nicer to see Kyle do it. He's a good guy, just misguided by his brothers, and Jason in particular. Removing his influence has clearly been good for him. I wonder how Casey reacted to Rachel's news about Wren... And Caleb and Wren persist in being adorable. ❤️

Beautiful and heartbreaking. As others have stated, Mac, you are who you are and he can't take that away from you. I'm so sorry you're hurting, but I'm glad you're writing. I hope there is some comfort in it for you. Be kind to yourself.
