  1. I posted this to Twitter earlier, so I thought I might as well share it here too. I've seen some folks trying to use this older form of the second person singular pronoun in stories, poetry, song lyrics and so on, but getting it all kinds of wrong, so I made a handy little guide. thou - subject (see: 1st person 'I') thee - object (see: 1st person 'me') thy - dependent possessive (see: 1st person 'my') thine - independent possessive (see: 1st person 'mine') Examples from Shakespeare: Sonnet 18: Shall I compare THEE to a summer's day? THOU art more lovely and more temperate [...]But THY eternal summer shall not fade Sonnet 134: So, now I have confessed that he is THINE 'Thine' is also used in place of 'thy' if the following word begins with a vowel, for example: Sonnet 132: THINE eyes I love, and they, as pitying me And, just so we're absolutely clear, 'thou' is ALWAYS singular! Plural of 'thou' is 'you'. 'You' has been adopted as a singular pronoun, but it didn't use to be. The plural form was used as a formal singular form, for politeness, respect or deference, but at some point people started to use it as the default 2nd person singular pronoun in informal as well as formal settings. There are other languages in which the 2nd person plural is used formally while the singular is informal, such as the difference between 'tu' and 'vous' in French.
  2. Saaaame, lol! Only MMOs I've played were Guid Wars 2 (which is free, and fun for a little while) and Elder Scrolls Online, which I initially got purely for the chance to explore Tamriel, since I'm an Elder Scrolls lore nerd, and which I now play veeeery occasionally with a few friends. Both are PVE, with optional PVP. But for the most part, gaming is me time. And I don't want anyone intruding on my me time.
  3. I actually think that sounds awesome! I love old school synths, lo-fi, weird stuff. Music serves many different purposes, and there are many different ways for music to be good. From an entertainment perspective, if it entertains you, it's good. Artistically speaking, if it makes you feel something, it's good. If it makes you think, it's good. The only bad music is music that gives you nothing. That goes for art in general. And then I can say that I don't like something, but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't. These 'taste wars' are just dumb. We can discuss why we like or don't like something, but the moment someone tells me that what I like sucks and I'm an idiot for liking it, that's a conversation I leave.
  4. I adore Florence! Got to see her live once at a festival. She's a magnificent performer.
  5. My favourite of hers is this one. It's such a weird and wonderful performance...
  6. But do you get to keep it if you cancel game pass?
  7. I haven't played the game yet (hoping to find it on sale on Steam next weekend...) but I've heard great things. And today I found this amazing song this guy wrote based on it, and it's my new favourite song, I've been listening to it on repeat all day. Made me want to play the game even more. Miracle of Sound makes a whole bunch of awesome songs based on video games. The devs should pay him, it's great advertising.
  8. Well, it's not your birthday anymore, but happy birthday nonetheless!
  9. Miracle of Sound makes badass songs about video games, TV shows and so on he likes. They're amazing. Here's one he made for the recent Outer Worlds: And, for Firefly fans like me, this one. Just listen to that baritone... That does funny, happy things to me, it does. Aaaand, a song about Ciri from The Witcher:
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. Oh, jus one more... Still explicit lyrics.

  14. Honestly, I've never really gotten this feature to work, so I never schedule updates like that anymore. Many other authors have also had problems with readers not being notified, etc. This has happened both when I've edited scheduled updates and when I haven't. As far as I'm concerned, that feature is broken.

    I Remember You

Thank you, Parker. I'm glad if my words can give you something. Even if it's something sad.

    I Remember You

Thank you, tim. Trans women of colour are also over-represented in the statistics, so there's a fair bit of racism and misogyny that goes into this as well. It's horrifying, and I'm afraid for my trans family. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. It means a lot.

  20. They did not return to the feast, though Jair had not eaten. Instead, they circled around to Jair’s house, avoiding the village square where the people were gathered. He would let Joseph and his brothers tell the story of what had happened. He trusted Shimon and Ruben to tell it faithfully. Entering his house, he used the torch to light his fire and his lamp, then extinguished it and sat down on the furs before the hearth. He winced, touching his hand to his side. It came away red with blood
  21. The day was grey and wet. It had seen the first rainfall of the season and the dry earth underneath had turned to mud. Epheriel watched the world, the way it knew it must. It was its nature. It was a watcher, a lower caste of angel, created to observe mankind and nothing more. It had been assigned this little part of this little world to watch. It was a small village, with kind little people, though lately, Epheriel had sensed a disturbance among them. Someone here carried evil intent. T
  22. So this was announced on Thursday. “Xbox Game Studios just published its latest game, Tell Me Why, the first mainstream game from a major publisher that features a transgender character as the playable lead hero. The game, which was developed with input from the LGBTQ media group GLAAD, was announced during Microsoft’s Xbox London event on November 14, 2019 and will be available on Xbox One, Windows, and Game Pass in 2020.”
  23. 'If you play this song, you'll never have a career,' said the record man. Joke's on him.
  24. *her. She's a girl. That's a lovely video. I love how it's all black and white until she gets the dress and then the colour kicks in as she becomes who she was always meant to be. ❤️
