This is, I think, the first of your Cupid Central stories I've read. The rest are now on my list. This was such a sweet and funny story. I really enjoyed it!

Good morning, and happy Sunday! The weather is lovely and sunny here today. Considering a walk later. Hope you all have a great day! -
cold grey morning light the sun rises so early up here in the north

Thank you for reading it. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you, tim. I think they’ll be okay, too. Love is a wonderful thing. I’m so happy that you have love in your life, my friend. ❤️
-
Once again, you hit the nail on the head. Lovely words. Thanks for sharing.
-
Here’s hoping. I think they’ll be good for each other. That they can keep each other away from the ledge, as long as both let the other love them. Thank you for reading!

Yup, foster care institution is right. I’ve had friends who have been in similar institutions. School, counselling, therapy, rehab when needed, all in one neat little package. Better than neglectful or abusive families, and better than ending up on the street.

Thank you, Gary. I’m glad my story could make an impact. Jake and Alex both deserve to be happy. Here’s hoping they can make each other so.

You just paste the link for the story directly into the text editor. Copy link, paste it here. And it auto-embeds like that. It's like withYouTube videos. GA does that with a lot of media now.

Marriage... Now there's something I don't think either of them is thinking about. They both have shitty role models in that respect; Alex with his abusive father and mother who won't leave him, and it's not stated in the story, but Jake's dad fucked off a looooong time ago. You're right about their emotional connection. Jake spent a lot of time denying that what he felt for Alex was anything other than friendship. Alex is seventeen and Jake will be seventeen soon; it seems unlikely that either of them will get foster families, so with a year and a half left of schooling, they'll probably be expected to go out and meet life when they're done. Maybe they'll go to uni together?

Yeah, I'm not saying it's necessarily HEA, but... I do like to think that they stay together. Thanks for reading!

Night, all. -
I take it you're not familiar with European medieval ballads (the musical tradition, not the poetry form). Awful lot of verses is where it's at, my friend.

This read like a song. I kind of want to put music to it. Very beautiful.

I actually know two pairs of identical twins where one is straight and one is gay, hehe. This was a fun story the first time I read it, and it's a fun story now. Good job!

The boy sat up in bed, rubbing sleep from his eyes. He listened to the silence around him, listened for the tell-tale sound of his brother’s steady breathing and occasional murmurs through the thin wall between their bedrooms, but he couldn’t hear it. Something was wrong. He got out of bed and left his room, approaching his brother’s bedroom door. ‘Nathan? You in there, mate?’ There was no answer. The boy knocked harder. ‘Hey! Nathan!’ Still nothing. The boy opened the door, squinting into t

The version I shared was also still picture. Live versions are often not great. Not because they're not good live (I've seen them twice and they're amazing), but because the recordings are bad, lol! Anyway, yeah, she's angry. She's a black woman who grew up in South London under Thatcherism at a time when neo-Nazis were very much a threat. Of course she's angry.
