When I did the final proof for this last night, I already knew what was coming (as I helped edit the whole thing a few months back). I knew it was coming. Still cried when Nate did. It's his moment with Chris that really gets me. I remember reading it the first time and realising how there was so much more depth to Nate than I'd thought.

Similar expressions have been used elsewhere, though. When I was in high school, the chamber choir sang a really old Italian song, the title of which translated to, 'This is how I wish to die', and the death in that song very much referred to sex and orgasm. There is also a Swedish song by a composer named Carl Michael Bellmann from the 1700s, a very erotic piece where death is also used as a metaphor. (So is 'hold my violin'...)

I'm going to Finland with my parents for a couple of weeks late July. We have a summer cabin in the woods but walking distance from the beach, so that's always lovely. Unfortunately, my boyfriend has to work. In August I have a week pass to a music festival here in town which, sadly, again will be without boyfriend because I bought it before I knew he would definitely be living here... I feel like the worst boyfriend ever, lol! But we'll do nice things together when he does have time off.
