God, Chris's reaction to Tad showing symptoms is just heartbreaking. Nate has come a long way. It takes so much strength to stay calm and strong in that situation.

So, Robert Pattinson will be Batman, and now we may be getting Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine, apparently. Should be fun. The new Tom Holland Spider-Man films skipped the origin story. They just went straight into the actual plot. Everyone knows Spider-Man's origin story, and everyone knows Batman's, too. So yeah, I'm hoping they just skip it.

I feel like this belongs here more than in the other music thread... Sommernatt ved fjorden (Summer Night by the Fjord in English) is a song by Norwegian composer Kjetil Bjørnstad, performed by opera singer Ellen Westberg Andersen. It was recorded in 1978. The song tells a story of the Norwegian painter Oda Lasson (later Krohg when she married Christian Krohg, another famous painter) and her lover, the writer, philosopher and activist Hans Jæger. Oda, Krohg, and Jæger's love triangle is famous in Norwegian cultural history. They were all part of a group of artists and subversives known colloquially as the Kristiania Boheme (Kristiania is an older name for Oslo) in the late 19th century. The song describes the couple out rowing late in a bright summer night, told from the point of view of Oda's sister, Bokken Lasson, who was a singer, song-writer and troubadour. My translation of the lyrics is in the spoiler.

Hey, everybody! Hope you’re all well. Paul and I went to the Viking ship museum here in Oslo today. They have three burial ships there, dug up from burial mounds. Really cool and very interesting. So now I’m inspired to get back to my Viking historical drama I started on ages ago... Have a great day, all!

All relationships change. All people change. And that’s a good thing, I think. And also... isn’t it up to you to decide what D/s means to you? No two relationships are the same, after all. You talk about colouring outside the lines, but isn’t that what we do anyway? As queer people, you as D/s people... seems to me that it’s up to ourselves to define what our respective lifestyles are supposed to be and then live accordingly, with our self-defined labels or without. Either way, you do you. The only thing that matters is that you are both happy, together.

Ups and downs. Had to lower the dose for my mood stabilisers cause I was getting some unpleasant side effects, so trying to find a balance just now. Other than that it's all good, though. Hope your thesis is going well! It's way past my bedtime so I'm gonna get some sleep now. Night, all! ❤️

Good morning, everyone. Happy Sunday! I slept in today. More than usual, I mean. I've needed a lot of sleep lately... I would die. I cannot take heat. Cold is fine, I bundle up, but give me over 25°C and I melt. I always say, I'm a snowman, lol! That's about the temp we've had in the past couple of days. Plenty hot enough for me. Windows are wide open. One of my best friends has lived and worked in Dubai for a year. It would not have been her first choice except the career opportunity was too good. She's even less heat resistant than I am. They get 45°C in the shade in summer. Thankfully, there's AC everywhere. Rich city. She's had enough, though, she's coming home soon. We had a lovely thunderstorm the other day. It rained sideways, lots of hail. The neighbours' kid was on her way home when it happened. I heard her laughing downstairs coming inside, absolutely soaked. It was over in about an hour. Huh, I think I just heard thunder. Maybe we're getting another one.

Sounds like a great guy. I’m sorry you lost him. Going to the dentist is pretty pricy here, too, but not prohibitively so, I think, at least where I usually go. My dentist is a very sweet Indian lady.
