I like snow. I'm sad when we don't get snow in winter. But like, I want season-appropriate weather. I want snow in December, not in April. Which is something we've been getting for the past few years. lol Good morning, everyone. -

Way too hot here too... it pushes 30°C almost every day now. I’m a snowman. I melt. Last weekend we had rain and cooler temps for a couple of days and it was heaven. -

Good morning, DiC! Today we're off to look for a new bed. We've been sleeping in one that's really way too small for two people for a year and a half now. Time to get something bigger. Have a good day, everyone! -

Yeah, I know. If my new equipment arrives on Thursday like DHL said it would, we start recording Friday. If it doesn’t... we may start recording anyway, just on slightly less good equipment. Thanks, tim! I’m getting excited about it. Should be fun, once we get the kinks worked out. -

Yeah, not bad, thanks. I got a new graphics card for my PC, so I've been doing some gaming. Thanks, Mike. I'm really glad you liked it! Good morning, everyone. Hope you all have a nice day. Today, Paul and I are doing some planning for a podcast we've been thinking of making for a while. A writing podcast where we brainstorm over a topic and come up with a basic premise or prompt for a story. We have no idea what we're doing so it should be fun. lol -
Thank you! Glad it worked for you. Thanks for commenting.

Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. Hope you all had a good weekend, and that today has been kind to you as well. -
As Betwixt the Devil and the Deep Sea

Thank you. And thanks for reading it even if it's not your genre. You know, personally, I don't like Stephen King at all. I think he's boring. There are far better horror writers out there, in my opinion. -
That's what I do: give my readers hope and then wrench it away again. Thanks. I'm glad you liked the story and thank you for reading.

Thank you! I think the creature keeps anyone who stays on the island for more than a day or so from leaving. People from the mainland can deliver wares, step onto land for a few hours, fetch or deliver mail, things like that. But anyone who stays for any real amount of time, or overnight, doesn't get to leave. Most are put off by the bleak atmosphere of the island, though this was a draw for our protagonist, and sure, there are whispers about the island and its inhabitants being odd, but there's no real belief in a curse or anything like that. Thanks for commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Creepy was indeed my goal. Perhaps I will revisit the genre some day... Thanks for commenting! I'm glad you liked it.

Thank you, Cassie! I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, it's the concept of these fearsome creatures beyond our comprehension that I took from Lovecraft, as well as a few generalised tropes. I in no way approve of the man himself. He helped build a genre that I enjoy, but his own work has never really captured me, mostly because his own beliefs bled through and it's... not good. lol!

Thank you! Yeah, I was trying to give it kind of an old-timey feel (setting is late 19th, early 20th century some time) so I chose some less common and more archaic versions of certain words... I'm not sure it actually did what I wanted it to, but there you go. I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

Thank you! It was fun writing it. Maybe I will write more quasi-horror some day... We'll see.

All the more reason for the rest of us to get it. Herd immunity. I hope you enjoy it! Good morning, DiC. Happy Friday! (Is it Friday? The days of the week are blurring together for me...) -
I agree. I just like playing with some of his tropes. The non-racist ones.

We’ll see what happens. At present I already have like a million unfinished things I should be working on so it’s not in the cards for right now, but some day perhaps. Glad you enjoyed it!

I always shipped Vega with Cortez. I feel like one drunken night, Vega would just go, ah, what the hell, and they'd end up in bed together. And he would wake up a new man.

Beautiful. I love the description of your mother. I feel like I can see her.

Thanks for the plug, tim! ❤️ Hey everyone. Hope you're all well! -
Thank you! Glad you liked it. Maybe I will some day.

Thank you for sharing so much about your life with tim. It's always so interesting to read, but also heartwarming. Having multiple identities that carry multiple stigma is difficult and draining, but being yourself, being who you are, is rewarding. At least it should be, though I suppose some never get to experience the rewards... Anyway, thanks. And I love that poem.
