I haven't yet read Widderkin yet and I actually have the book in hand -- I am woefully behind on just about all of my reading. But I thought why hasn't Palantir linked to his story here on the stories discussion page? So I am going to do it for you my friend because your stories are well worth reading. Although from the looks of things people haven't had trouble finding the story. Widderkin Interlude

What is he up to now? Setting things up for the Future
Ron commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors News
You've got me beat by a decade then. I do maintain that younger people are often dismissive of our generation. And I do get that 'progress' in technology can at times be a daunting task to keep up with as one ages. At least here on GA if you don't understand something and ask for further explanation you'll be met with kindness in the offering up of help. As I initially stated my comment was not directed at you. Your sarcasm and eye-roll at the end was uncalled for. -
What is he up to now? Setting things up for the Future

My comment is not personal to the commenter but it does draw attention to the not-inconsiderable bias toward ageism generally in the world. We may be older than some of you younger individuals, but that does not preclude the understanding of simple questions. Nor do complex ideas and/or algorithms generally exempt us from participation in this community. Get a grip youngling's! -
Oh, yeah! I do hope you haven't been nursing a bruise over that. If so, my bad.

Although I'm lazy enough not to want to go back three months to find out why you were snoozed in the first place I suppose its been long enough.

What do you call a Book Club that's been stuck on the same book for years and years?

Now, now, now you're reaching deep down into esoteric territory. (Say 'esoteric territory' five times - real fast. ) My thought: Even though it is/could-be a thing ... but speaking for myself, I don't need/want to see it happening in real-time, time-lapsed, or the very much dreaded slow-motion viewing option. Edit: After much hemming-and-hawing and deep thought I decided that '... is/could-be ... ' was a better solution than '... is/could be ... ,' but I am still on the fence over this. Second Edit: Now this post is not as humorous as I wanted this post to be. Damn it!

Odie Henderson the Boston Globe film critic writes this bold-face headline "In 'Pillion,' a shy bloke's heart belongs to daddy". He gave the film a three-and-a-half star rating where four stars would be the top rate. Not bad for what is described as a 'Dom Com' movie. The trailer may be too risqué for Google to show here. When in doubt don't share.

Oh, my my. My life has been topsy and turvy of late. Firstly I was chastised by our Head Honcho, formally known as @Myr for not being a productive author — yikes (but possibly effective in sticking a stick [snort] up my creative patootie! It doesn’t go downhill from there but there has been some bumps and grinds along the way. I’ve been busy (not writing unfortunately), but ‘on call’ as it were what with keeping company with my good friend’s father who is nearly twenty years my senior down on Cape Cod in the winter to ‘help out.’ It isn’t an ideal time to be down on the Cape but it’s not “redrum” concerning either. Nonetheless, I have a plan. Or, a percentage of a percentage of a plan for a story of epic dimension (if all goes to plan). Go big or go home — or something like that! Good Something-or-Other — cross your fingers for me and wish me luck!

Have you heard about the guy who evaporated?

And @Jason Rimbaud, I have yet to try your chili recipe. But I will. And I will pass judgment upon it!

Chili is a spice of life in my household of one. Chili was a great addition to my family’s dinner attractions as a kid. Back then it was white bread smeared with peanut butter as a side dish. Still a yummy addition, but saltine crackers crumbled into the chili was a must (Don’t judge). A dollop of sour cream sans the usual childhood additions is now a welcome treat, maybe with some diced, pickled jalapeños tossed in.

Oh! My goodness, that’s so audacious that it stretches the imagination.

A review of the reviewers reviews ... Is that what you're saying? Oh, yeah, it is ... Okay. , , ... . Sorry, I'm done. This is me just being cheeky.

Once upon a time I kept freshwater tropical fish and provided the environment for the breeding of them (successfully), and I also worked in shop that sold fish and the equipment needed to keep them well. As you might suspect this led to my belonging to the areas fish club. At an annual show and sale I entered one of my beauties to be judged and won Best of Show 2nd place and 1st place in the category for my fish — I offered it into a subsequent auction and got quite a bit of money for it. As part of the show there was a raffle, one had to buy tickets but the cost was not onerous (all profits went to the club). Well, well, well, I won the grand prize of a corner fish tank, stand and all the goodies needed to make it work. I had no room in my fish room for it and so I gave it to my stepfather who kept it stocked and working for many years.

Well, Bill I’m not sure how crying helps when it relates to a man’s meat. It strikes me that it’s a very sad thing should one convert to crying when it comes to the tenderizing application (so to speak) and … Oh, goodness. I don’t know where to go from here. I can’t continue!
-
I have nothing to add.
-
Well, there’s that. But it’s not a fun explanation.
-
That’s because you were attempting to tenderize your steak into tenderness. (That never works.) One must beat the meat into submission — that’s the only way! Gentleness only prolongs the endeavor. Your end result may, of course, vary in its response … .

Happy birthday and I like watching Fringe, too. It was a favorite show of mine.

This coming Tuesday (a mere 6 days from now), if one were to go outside (for much needed groceries, let’s say) at precisely 1 pm it will be a predicted 32 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a small window of time which could likely tilt toward the downside (what with the wind and all), but it’s doable for me. It beats the current high temps in the 20’s and teens. Grocery store … Here I come.
