    Chapter 5

With the purchase of Escorial complete the newest member of the CAP family is official . For many reasons this chapter causes my gut to clench because it was when I first realized the larger impact of JP's emigration to California. His transformation from the young man we knew and loved in CAP to the man he is in later stories is almost complete and that change comes at a price. Really nice work paralleling the conflict abroad with the turmoil within, thanks.

    Chapter 4

I've commented in the past that I wonder if JP and Jeff are really right for one another and this chapter reminds me of why I think that. There is so much beauty in both of them, and their connection is like a drug, which I think Jeff is starting to understand, but ultimately they are in such different places figuratively its hard to see them stable and poised for the happily ever after. Moving chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 3

My favorite oops I just met my boss story ever . Most enjoyable chapter, reminding of the playfulness and real love that JP, Stefan and Jeff share, thank you for your work.

    Chapter 2

Again I am reminded by the awesomeness that is JP's family and friends. If JP and they can't pull Jeff out of the pit, he's not meant to get out. Encouraging and hopeful chapter, despite the reminder of the homophobia, thanks.

    Chapter 1

Oh Jeff. It was crushing to learn of Jeff's fate the first time I read this, especially after the the previous story ending on such a high note. Oddly it's still as crushing despite my foreknowledge, even odder still is I am grateful for the chapter, because sad events or not this is a good story, so thanks.
  6. Chronicles Of An Academic Predator is full of rich characters so compelling it is easy to get wrapped in their lives and forget they don't exist outside of the equally engrossing universe Mark Arbour has created. I started keeping a log of all my favorite lines to illustrate what makes this story so awesome, but had to abandon the plan when I realized I would soon be quoting most the book because CAP is full with rich narrative and dialogue. Thanks and kudos to the author and his team for their efforts. Anyone reading the later stories who hasn't gone back to read JP's story and how the whole saga began is doing her/hisself a great disservice. Even when one wonders about/doesn't approve of a choice JP is making, one sees JP as a human being fallible to the same bouts of bad calls all people are prone to making at some points in their lives. That's part of what made JP the formidable yet intensely lovable character he is now and later in the series. This is a great fucking story, one of the best on the site, if you haven't read it...read it already.

    Chapter 48

A feel good ending during a time of national calamity, absolutely fantastic work, thank you.

    Chapter 68

Whew so much packed into one chapter and all of great stuff leaving me eager for more. Thank you as always.

    Chapter 47

As much as I love Jeff and want great things for him, I wonder if he is really ready to commit it JP in the way that JP is looking for and I also struggle with them maybe not being right for one another despite their strong addiction to one another. JP as innocent as he is in this story is still still years ahead of Jeff not just physically but emotionally and Jeff's new found freedom, well that's hard for an 18 yo who is just realizing the whole world is out there to sacrifice even for one as mature as Jeff. Just my thoughts as I procrastinate reading the final chapter of the book that has kicked off so many other great stories. Thanks.

    Chapter 46

Oh Jason...you need so much help. Oh Jeff...it's so easy to think that we aren't going to fall prey to the same pitfalls as everyone else. Oh JP...love is...well love. I think the goodness was always in Stefan, it just took awhile to break down the protective shell he had to have when he was back in France. The first book it almost over and although its not my first read or even close to the end of the series I'm already feeling blue it's almost over, thanks for such a great read.

    Chapter 45

The relationship between JP, Jeff and Stefan is complex, in many ways it offers so much love and support, but in others it adds quite a bit of complication giving the capriciousness of youth and lustful infatuation that often feels like love. Thanks.

    Chapter 44

Jason's attitude always disappointed me, I get he's upset, but to be so childish and ungrateful to a person who has been so good to him, that lack of loyalty hits hard. Compelling and delicious all rolled into one chapter, thanks.

    Chapter 43

I love this chapter because it reminds me of how young and playful Isidore was in these early CAP days. Great job, thanks.
  14. Miles Long

    Chapter 42

How could Isidore not be wowed by what JP has done. When JP puts his woo on, people are woo'd. Jeff's family yikes! Although I could see the humor in the scene with Carol, I thought it was a it beneath JP, but alas 26 yo is still pretty young, despite how mature we thought/think we are at that age. Enjoyed the update, thanks.

    Chapter 41

Stefan's inner greatness shines and how hilarious is it that with that greatness he's also learning to fight back, gonads beware Stefan isn't taking no crap . JP and Jeff have come into their own finally and of course Jeff is coming to Chicago. Loving your work, thanks.
  16. Miles Long

    Chapter 40

Jeff is so naïve, sweet but so so innocent and JP as worldly as he is still has a bit of that innocence when it comes to love as well. I understand Isidore's concern, first time mom's are nervous about a lot of things. Wonderful to see JP and his parents interact with love. Thank you for creating this universe.
  17. Miles Long

    Chapter 39

These are the beginning of JP's days as the edgy professor who bucked the status quo and wrote and spoke the truth despite the consequences. Combined with his willingness to protect his own at all costs this chapter really sparks his ascension metaphorically in many ways. Fantastic work, thank you.
  18. Miles Long

    Chapter 38

Another great chapter, thank you. Risking sounding cliché this story just gets richer with every chapter and better with every read.
  19. Miles Long

    Chapter 37

After all the tragedy and unsettling family secrets, it was lovely to put some of that away and I'm proud of JP's choice to get the ball rolling. Part of me wants to stop reading right now when everything is sunny, but my addiction won't let me. As usual thanks.

    Chapter 36

The love for his aunt and uncle really come through as JP steps up to help them finalize Billy's service. Tonto's support of JP and Jeff is just another example of her greatness. JP and Jeff have really come into their own, and Stefan is too cute to resist.

    Chapter 48

Wade has another brother? I cannot wait to meet him...I suppose I don't have much choice but know that I wait under extreme duress . Relieved to find that the Senator had his affairs in order, thus avoiding another ugly battle over money. Exemplary writing, thanks for feeding my addiction. PS...I hope I'm not being foolish by taking Mary Ellen at face value.
  22. Miles Long

    Chapter 35

Another tragic loss, especially for Tonto and Barry. JP is a good man to step up and get Tonto moving again. They are both extremely lucky to have one another. Thank you again for breaking my heart.
  23. Miles Long

    Chapter 34

Jason is the perfect example of victim turned aggressor. I understand JP's live and let live and not wanting to be a hypocrite, but he is ignoring giant red flags that indicate Jason needs some serious help. I'm at least glad he laid some ground rules down. Look at me all wrapped up in the story, great work .
  24. Miles Long

    Chapter 33

What happened to Fritz was tragic and the subsequent lack of support our government provided is shameful. I wish we could say that things like that are a thing if the past, but sadly, they are not. Unfortunate but lovingly portrayed chapter, thanks.
  25. Miles Long

    Chapter 32

SWOON! Jeff came to see him for Valentines Day. YAY! Sweet chapter in spite of the Jason/Boyd shenanigans. Thanks as always.
