Week Fourteen Saturday, December 6, 2014: Randy
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fourteen Saturday, December 6, 2014: Randy
Well, I see the Pushy One is back...sigh. She can't be given her walking papers too soon in my opinion. I like Randy a lot more now that he was honest with David, and trying to help him cope with things--but I have to agree with Spikey that postponing their talk to later wasn't necessary. I get that David can't face being gay right now, but he's only setting things up for his life to become far more complicated the more he lets the PO have her way. I'm glad Chuck has found Curt to be his boyfriend, and maybe he let Matty screw him that night, we just don't know. I think the two of them have feelings for each other, but very early on Matty made it clear it was about sex primarily, and Chuck is more than smart enough not to see that, so he was keeping his eyes open for someone special. Right now, he's enjoying the sex, and saving his heart for the right boy to come along. At least the boys are careful and using condoms. More please, SD, and less Alex...wouldn't hurt if she's not in the next one at all...maybe it will be all about Danny and his view on David's situation? Come on Twoey, grow some balls. -
Wow, this was a tense one, Graeme. It was nice to see a glimpse of Kevin's family, and if he decides to try a relationship with Warwick, I think they might support him...at least I hope so. Hurrah for Ty and Karen at the end--his instincts were spot on about how to calm Roscoe down and yet let him know he was trustworthy. I was impressed at his restraint about Stuart, who he pegged exactly right. I've never liked him, and I think he's bad news all around. Roscoe at least knows he has friends now if the slime ball outs him. Lets hope he decides for health reasons not to do that...Ty would be all over his ass. More please, Graeme!

Cool chapter, Elias! Man, the teasers about the movie are gonna drive me crazy...what's gone wrong? or right? Is Will going to come out physically hurt, or emotionally? Hurry up and get to reliable internet, my friend!

Chapter 33 A Disgruntled Southern Family 1963
ColumbusGuy commented on Tallguyct's story chapter in Chapter 33 A Disgruntled Southern Family 1963
Man, JB's family were a piece of work. I'm glad Ollie came up with the plan to have Peter there anonymously...it was a nice twist. It was also nice that the other lawyer called to say he was glad the family backed off from the legal challenge. I'm very surprised about the financial advisor's relationship...most uncommon for that time and place. The South wasn't overly accepting at the best of times, and I'm not sure it would be very acceptable even today. Not sure which would upset their mores the most, a gay relationship, or a mixed race relationship. I'm enjoying this story as it stirs up memories of the way things were when I was a kid, and brings to mind that even in the 70s it wasn't a good idea to be open in a small Ohio town. The only black people I knew then was an older couple who were friends of my parents--they would take me on day trips to visit historical sites around Ohio, and they were great friends to me...but I never knew any my own age since none lived in our town, and the first one to graduate from my high school did that the same year I did--she'd moved there that year. More please! -
Chapter 5 Exploring New Territory
ColumbusGuy commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 5 Exploring New Territory
Hmm, so did Kellar heal Tobin's problem, or is it that Tobin hasn't yet realized it's cured? Tobin's new problem is his feelings about his new friend...can he also break out of the 'malaise' of being typed as straight? More please, G-Man, as soon as you can! -
Week Fourteen Friday, December 5, 2014: Overwhelmed
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fourteen Friday, December 5, 2014: Overwhelmed
I wasn't too surprised to learn the two others 'commited suicide'...what was unexpected was Danny being the spirit guide for this part of David's psyche, and the revelation that Chuck is his brother. The warning of this being David's final chance is troubling, but I think it refers not only to him and Twoey, but also his sanity...if he doesn't face up to things and accept himself, he will be most likely a victim of suicide or madness. Coming up on the end, but at least David has begun to see there IS a problem. Hurrah--no Alex!! Let's have her slink off into the sunset with Eric. -
I'm happy the packs are planning ahead, and hope they can win out over the bad forces at work behind the scenes. With the goals of including other shifters in time, it will be a more stable and hopefully more pro-active group. The scene of Cody, Casey and Darius mating was so wonderful...and who's to say they aren't true mates? The scene with Aiden and Ethan was romantic and fun, but I wasn't happy with the last scene, though it could be taken as another way of marking each other...but it struck me as demeaning and perhaps even tarnishing the equality of their love for one another. That's just me, feeling it is more of an acto of humiliation than love...otherwise, wonderfully tender. Animals do this as a way of marking their territory more than a mate, so I think it reduces the other to the level of just another thing to own. More please, Wolf!

A nice chapter, Elias...but I have to agree with Will about not wholly trusting his parents...they showed their true colors already, and he's right to be reticent about them. All the same, I'd trust them a bit more than his friends. I'm loving this story, though the Narrator makes a hash of the email addresses. More please, my friend!

Thank goodness I had my narrator do the replies to the previous reviews, because they answered my question on how Dean got the shifter genes. I'm a bit confused though that Alphas and such were being talked about with Kao, but that must mean that he's a lycan too. Still makes his brother a huge asshole. I hope Kao can find a way to break away from the rotten brother...and am wondering what the signifficance of the blue eyes Dean was seeing...is that the wolf who turned him? I thought it might be him getting part of Kao's blood on his hand? More please FB!

Man, a cruise sounds like so much fun. That's dedication if you manage to post a chapter while on holiday. Will's adventure after church is hilarious, especially the guys following him into the toilet! Have fun, Elias, and try to not do too many touristy things...I'm sure there are a lot of sights to see that aren't swamped like the Parthenon would be. Are there any vestiges left of the Long Walls down to the Piraeus?

Week Fourteen Thursday, December 4, 2014: Slipping
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fourteen Thursday, December 4, 2014: Slipping
I have to agree with everything spikey said about Twoey and David, and disagree with him about why Lanni and Cal are here. They are here because of their past connections, directly and indirectly with David. I'm glad that Lanni didn't fall for Cal's line of b.s., I knew she was smarter than that. I'm hoping that she and Benny will find what they are looking for, he sounds miles above the slime-ball standard that Cal represents. Like Lanni, I hope he isn't gay either. SO how much longer do we have to suffer through Alex? Let Tommy have the controlling bitch. He'll soon see that getting what you think you want isn't always a good thing. We all know what the Burch dreams are about, just wonder how long it will take David to figure that one out. So this is the reason he 'can't be gay'.... -
This is an awesome start, FB, I'm so glad there is a new work in this saga! Big question already: is the rogue wolf a were, or just a big normal one? And where is Dean going to fit in? Will he become a were-creature too? More please!!

Chapter 7- Prompt 15- Free Verse- Join Me
ColumbusGuy commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 7- Prompt 15- Free Verse- Join Me
zjudy onr motr--ehsy voulf iy hut? On top of the last one which stirred up my emotions, this put the cap on them...I'm done for the night before I start crying over what should have been a happy future together with the fondness of long joyful times already shared. These things are incredibly powerful though innocuous enough at first sight. -
Chapter 6-Prompt 4 and 5- Running and Flying
ColumbusGuy commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 6-Prompt 4 and 5- Running and Flying
I'm not much on writing poetry, as you know, but I really like this one. It speaks to the feelings I've had when going into a relationship...and I wish I'd had it to hand when things wouldn't turn out as I wished. A little teary over this one, as it reminds me of my last and best relationship, and the fact that at the end, there were no more tomorrows for my lover. Sorry, I need to stop now and gather myself together again. Eight years and it still feels like yesterday. -
Nice chapter, I'm glad Toph has found a diplomatic way to return the money, and saw it for the trap it was. An exhibition of his art...very cool! If the pictures are all part of his portfolio, I guess he won't be selling any... More please!

Oliver's Sweet Sixteen
ColumbusGuy commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in Oliver's Sweet Sixteen
Just catching up, James, after my eye surgeries and a new computer with narration software has allowed me to be online and continue my writing here. I'm glad Oliver's family took it so well, and his cousin's wanting to be a girl was hilarious! I'm so sorry for Oscar though, not having such good memories of his own coming out. Good luck with Orchestra...and I'll await the next chapter here with keen anticipation! -
Week Fourteen Tuesday, December 2, 2014: I Still Love Him
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fourteen Tuesday, December 2, 2014: I Still Love Him
Sigh. So sad to see my predictions come true. Bad, bad, bad. The only bright spot at the moment is Chuck and Donny. -
Chapter 4 When Worlds Collide
ColumbusGuy commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 4 When Worlds Collide
Curiouser and curiouser...so Kellar can heal, and his pelt is bi-colored. Always a new turning with your ideas, my dear friend. Who else is lurking about in that fertile imagination of yours? Well, I'd been thinking of attempting a shifter story some time, thanks to those of WofM, Caz and others, but now I guess I'll forego that idea...the master spinner has extended his web here too, so I'm stymied. I've been wondering about the 'malaise' part of the title...I think we're about to find out what that is referring to. So Tobin might be Kellar's mate? That would be so cool! More wonderfully wolfish words, G! -
Very nice WolfM. This is going to help integrate the two groups in a way that also shows mutual trust. I'm not surprised the rot goes even higher than the Security Director...I just hope it can be stopped. I worry that the planned revelations will come to light too soon. Who these 'others' are Marie refers to is intriguiing. Relatives, close friends or other rogue leaders who Jean-Pierre knows and can trust? Aidan is ready to take on more responsibility, but the more training he can get, the better. I don't want to think about him being forced into a leadership role too soon since that would mean some disaster has befallen Alpha Stockdale. He and Ethan will be amazing pack leaders in time, but not yet, please. Eager for the next one, Wolf!

Thanks, AC! I was hoping that the chapter wasn't too sappy. I just wrote how I feel about churches and still try to live my life as Miles advised--I've learned that you can temper the truth by kindness, but still stick to it, and I'm satisfied that I have a clear conscience on most things. Regrets in life, yes, but none dealing with how I treat others. Our boys are strong together, and I think they realize that. I'm working out how they relate, and am sure their bond is very deep. Sometimes you just know that things are meant to be, and I think their meeting and subsequent events was Fate. Trying to sort out the next installment, not got a plan, but I will try to get it started tonight. The big event will likely be Benny and Cal coming over to study...wonder what Dirck and Rosalie will think of that?
-
An awesome story, Elias! I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the pastor's fate...I hope at the very least that he is transferred out of town. It would be great if Frank could come to Will's graduation...it is entirely due to his influence that there will be one for our beleagered hero. Fingers crossed that it all works out. More please, my friend!

Chapter 14 Confronting past and present matters
ColumbusGuy commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Chapter 14 Confronting past and present matters
I love this one Tim, it shows that a relationship is best seen in the little details to judge it's depth. I don't know your plans, but I'd love to see his mother's china and other special items used for the new family Patrick has found...it would reinforce the good memories for him and help to drive away the bad ones. I know they would have approved of him moving on. Dinner with Antony and John should be fun...and think they are going to be fast friends. I'm also eager for Michael's tests to start, so we can begin his recovery. More please, min ven! -
Hmm, it comes down to: Will he, or won't he, with Kevin and Warwick. I'm glad Kevin is being honest and not raising false hopes in the fan...but it would be nice if they got along in that way. Man, the tension over the Combine is tense...I really hope that Ty and Jim get picked...it's pretty certain that Deon will be, and I also hope that Dave will find his own slot with a club willing to take a chance on him--he really needs the boost for his self-image. More please, Graeme!
-
Wow, a pretty dramatic couple of chapters, Elias. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the pastor messed around with other boys, or maybe even coerced them...just like his hypocritical belief system. It's sad that Will only gets the sympathy he deserves and needs when he denies his true self...hang in there, it's only a few more years then you'll be free of this backwater town.
