    Chapter 50

No more second guessing himself or feelings of doubt or guilt or anything like that anymore for Carleton please. Salvation seems such a simple word but it has so much power. He is providing salvation to these Boys. He is so strong and doing so so much good. He is helping to balance out the bad in the world. He is actually doing something.

    Chapter 49

Would be hard to imagine leaving home if home had everything this home does.

    Chapter 48

Not Alex's Father's best move, but he has made many good ones so we will forgive him. Plus, how were they going to get her to pretend to be Jon's GF if he doesn't know about it. Did they seriously make the decision to let him fall in love with her with no actual reciprocation?

    Chapter 47

Alex was very lucky. Very lucky. It is so exciting, Jon has his whole life ahead of him. I wonder how many graduations, etc Carleton will be able to attend?

    Chapter 46

This ex-Librarian with a shopping fetish would have LOVED to go shopping for books. Firstly, I would have not spent a $1,000.00 on a carton of used Children's books. Unless the carton was the size of a smallish van. A Movie place sounds great.

    Chapter 45

As an ex-Librarian (public), I loved the reading. Knowledge is power. We used to have a story candle. Once the candle was lit, everyone knew it was storytime. Then one lucky kid (who was usually really chuffed) got to blow the candle out once storytime was over. Such a simple thing but the Blower Outer (Yeah. Need a netter name) really felt special.

    Chapter 44

I am sorry. That is not good enough. That is not anywhere near good enough. "He was making his position clear." Has he made his position clear with anyone else? He has had Sal with him, at his Home, with the Boys for a while now. Why did he choose that particular moment to make his position clear to Sal? What was the one thing that prompted that? Carleton can be a homophobe. We all have our something. No-one is perfect. There are homophobes all over the world. But don't try to fob it off as something else. Something benign, something harmless. That whole section was horrifying. I couldn't believe I was reading it. I thought it must be a mistake or...something. I will qualify my response above by saying that I was still recovering from some of my musings over the last chapter and comments. Then to 'turn the page' and walk into this? I am a gay person of colour. This and the last chapter were not fully enjoyable. Luckily, the next chapter awaits...

    Chapter 43

I think taking the Son of a Diplomat as his next Son is way more dangerous than anything Carleton has done so far. I initially thought they would definitely have to beef up security, etc. Afterall, this is the man's Son. Am assuming is not his first Son though? However, I am also assuming that Alex's experience of International Politics, etc and his lack of worry over this 'adoption' means that he is expecting all to be okay. So I guess it must be. In reality, I don't believe someone who has enough power and influence to be an Ambassador to the UN for their country would use their own Son as a simple street hooker. Why? Also, it is not their religion that encourages or allows for these people to do what they do. It is People using religion as a reason to do the things they choose to do. This is the same for all People anywhere of any religion. Hullo! People have been interpreting religious texts to their benefit since forever. People have been picking and choosing which parts of religious texts to focus on and/or weaponise since forever. It is People. People are the problem. Luckily, Carleton (and People like him) show us that People are (or can be) the solution as well.

    Chapter 42

He fed the Kids at the Zoo Cafeteria. Wow! He really must be rich. I know, a Home for 30plus with a Pool, Orchard, Conservatory, Basketball Court, Soon To Be Gym, Limo, Plane, etc. But he fed his Kids at the Zoo Cafeteria! And. And, the food must have been alright. Amazing...

There has been talk before about the Boys needing experiences, etc outside of their Home. That would be way hard when "Home" has lotsa love from various sources, awesome food, built in playmates, Puppies plural, a Conservatory, an Orchard, a Pool, a Basketball Court and a soon to be added Gym. Scheduling time with the Boys would be hard enough (considering how many there are) but Carleton has so much other stuff on his plate. This comment is from a prev chapter when they were going shopping and asked Maria if she needed anything. I had to smile. They seriously had to even ask?!?! LOL. They ended up needing the truck.

    Chapter 40

May I say, just quietly, I am over the mentioning of Chapter 16. No offence to anyone. In this instance, it really is what it is. Okay, thanks...quietly moving on to the next chapter now.

    Chapter39

I was confused by some of the comments and had to go back and re-read the prologue. I totally forgot about that. Now I really need to know what happened to the House, why it is empty, why none of the Boys took over their Father's "legacy", etc. It seems said that the House is currently empty - no Carleton, no Boys, no Alex, no Peter, no Maria, no Dogs... How is Robert supposed to fund the continuance of this legacy, etc? But really, why has no-one else continued Carleton's work? Will have to wait and see I guess...

    Chapter 38

I could fit right in in that kitchen, as long as I was the one pouring juice or doing the toast or laying things out. As much as I talk about and love eating, I am horrendous at cooking.

    Chapter 37

I don't know how Carleton does it. He is so disciplined around food and others.

    Chapter 36

Hmmm...I would be cautious about speaking at the UN re the Boy's safety as well. Luckily, he had the approved nod to be able to do so (dream) so its algud.

    Chapter 35

I loved all of my Pets and was devoted...at the beginning. Good old Maman and Pop ended up with all of my various Pets i.e. birds, axolotl, fish and dog. Plus we always had Pets in the House growing up. Usually at least one cat and one dog.

    Chapter 34

Pie and Ice-Cream. Haven't had that for so long. Being from the Pacific - Samoan Pineapple Pie. I've seen different versions, but I know which one I like. Yum! With plain vanilla ice cream please.

    Northern Exposure

I thought I'd put my comment here cause it may be a tad long. I have loved and been reading CAP a long time. One day I had nothing to do so thought I'd drop in to see what Bridgemont was like. The idea of a story based around sailors of olde did not exactly entice. Well, I have just finished and and now up to date (as of this am) and I miss it already. I was too interested in the story to comment after each chapter. The next chapter kept calling out to me. I decided to do one big long comment instead. I will try to keep this brief as possible: a) why, why, why did we have to lose Michel? That was so sad. He was such a lovely wee chap b) I cried when Granger was posted c) I was happy when Calvert was transferred to Intrepid. For me, I liked John Travers as his 'great' love. LOL, even if Granger himself didn't feel that way. For me it was my truth that mattered d) the fight with the Floreal was exciting to me. There were others that were as well, but this was the first truly exciting one... e) %$#@&* Wilcox. The whole lot of them f) John Travers dying was a very sad moment for me g) considering they were given a minute per member to get their shite together, I am betting the Committee of 30 were glad they had so many members h) one of the negatives about reading the whole thing at once (when it is supposed to be read in installments) is that sometimes an author will mention a characteristic regularly to remind readers of the same, but if you've continuously read the whole thing these reminders seem more regular. I am over Granger's, '...I'm lonely...' i) Caroline being pregnant with another Man's child was a shock. I guess they never had any type of birth control back then. It was more shocking to me than her double tryst, but then the lack of discretion was major regarding the tryst. I know the value system was way different and her lack of explanation, etc was the main issue but I felt really sorry for Caroline and the way Granger treated her. I think Granger is way worse than her - like way WAY worse. I also don't think he has been as discrete as he should have been on multiple occasions. But different times, etc j) I am happy to be a cog in the wheel. The world of politics, business, etc is way beyond me. It would be frikkin exhausting. It would be like crawling through a minefield with more mine than field. No, no, no... k) '...And Captain Avila is on that ship...' Loved it. Loved it. Loved it l) I find the diplomatic way they talk (can't think of better words to describe it) is way annoying. Like way WAY annoying. It is way to long winded and fake to me. There are definite benefits cause there are some people I know who could be a bit more refined in their mannerisms, speech and actions - but it is way too tedious I do not fully like Granger. Normally for me, that would be a straight turn off. I normally have to like the Hero or Heroine of a story e.g. he is a snob and a ho. But the fact he is not perfect is...okay. I hope he finds another Forever Love. Someone that completes him, that he is happy to with. He has to remain married to Caroline, etc. But someone that can be his heart-felt rock. Okay, so I know what I mean. Starting to ramble so I will stop here. I love this story. It has taken over my life for just over a week. Thank you so much. There is so much to it and so much that could have been commented on. So many characters, adventures, etc. Again, thank you so much. I have really enjoyed it so much. Just don't ask me to choose between this and CAP. That would be way hard. Sorry this is all over the place. The one thing I want to finish with - Please please PLEASE do NOT let anything bad happen to Winkler. He is just the best. Ya just wanna hug him to death and look after him for a while, especially when he is cold. Him and Jacob seem perfect for each other. Just perfect!

    Chapter 33

I am glad Joey is hesitant. I sure as hell would be.

    Chapter 32

I really hope it is not. They would be dead by now if it was? So, no. Please, definitely not kids/people in the truck.

    Chapter 31

They're sure getting their money's worth outta that plane. Welcome Joey...

    Chapter 30

I thought the dining room must be huge when he asked for a table for 50. But a U shaped table means the room must be even bigger than that. I can see how the U shaped table would be good. People can sit on the inside so people won't be as far from others as with a 'normal' table.

    Chapter 29

Alex is 'hanging around' a lot. Nothing wrong with it. I hate to bring it up, but depending on how much younger he is he may eventually take over the Household? He would be the perfect Father-In-Waiting...
  24. Buz

    Chapter 28

I am glad that it was explained about the bigger/older Boys helping Maria out and the reason why he is not so keen on additional adult staff. I think Alex may be my spirit animal. Our shared love of food (eating) is uncanny

    Chapter 27

If I was a pizzeria and got an order for spagbol for 45, I'd freak out. That's probably more servings that they would sell in one normal evening. Sounds yummy though. Especially yum with a simple bocconcini salad.
