  1. I hadn't read the first one. It was dynamite and quite moving. I loved both Line of Sight and More Than a Pact as well, as proven by you using my quote. Your stories have such well rounded characters with wonderful story lines which engage and delight. It's always a joy reading your work. Thanks for sharing with us!

    Chapter 1

Yeah!! The Leopards are back and I couldn't be more excited. Ross seems like an interesting new character. I can't wait to learn more about him. I wonder how Liam and Neill will deal with the whole college thing. Ty's father is as ornery as ever. I wonder what the ordeal will be for this book. I don't think we know yet but I have a feeling you planted a few seeds Graeme. We will see what they look like as they grow. I'm so excited!

    Prompt 476

What a sweet story and me thinks there is enough back story for more episodes!!! I'm just saying...
  4. Your drafts are good, I'm talking about my own writing. I sometimes struggle with purely character driven stories because occasionally I hit a brick wall or the situation seems to spin out of control. I found with the last two things I've worked on, using a model endpoint helps a little. When, as you put it so well, I see it through the character's eyes, I can nudge them toward the goal while remaining true to form. Anyway, great job with this story. It's fun to talk about the craft!!!
  5. I have a question relating to your overall writing, but it also speaks to this story in particular. Do you think your stories are more character driven or more plot driven? I felt Noel sort of developed organically as the story unfolded. But, I have also noticed your story lines bend a little to keep true to the character. Granted, I am lucky enough to get to read your stuff before it goes live, but I'm curious if this affects you. I sometimes struggle I think. Also, you still haven't told me what your favorite cheese is. I'm still curious!!!
  6. Fantastic! Welcome aboard and well deserved!
  7. Things are now situated for Clay. These two shorts, Boy River and Morton's Fork, provide the background sketches for Perdido Key. That is my new novel I'm currently working on. It's a ways away from even editing at this point. However, it is a murder mystery and the theme is paternity. Thanks so much for the unexpected and delightful reviews. These always give me more impetus with projects.

    Boy River

It's not. He's in limbo. I'm really glad I introduced this character though. He is an intergral part of the new novel I'm rough drafting. I can't wait to see what you think of Morton's Fork!

    Story

Thank you Joann! You helped me, gave me encouragement, and it is a testament to you I kept at it. I keep working at it and trying to improve. You gave me the courage to keep going. There is a part of you in each story. I hope you know that.

Thanks for the wonderful review. It is a subject which matters especially if you've dealt with loved ones slowly losing themselves to the disease. I'm glad you liked it.

    Story

That is truly high praise, thank you so much. I'm glad the story worked for you. You mentioning Jager lives on made me think how Liam will have sweet memories like his grandfather did. Jager does live on. Thanks,

    Story

I realized many of us are touched by this disease and wanted to portray how it affects everyone in a way. I'm sorry to hear your mother struggled with it. I've seen the toll it takes. Thank you so much for a thoughtful and flattering review. I really appreciate it!!!

    Story

Thanks Val!!! I'm glad it worked so well. I tried to dole out the hints and yet wanted Glen to be a bit self-delusional about it. Seems it played out well. I appreciate the kind words.

    Story

Thank you!!! The ending wasn't originally like this, but then I was reminded it's Valentine's day. It's good they had a place to go together.

    Story

Thanks for the great review. Yes, it is a very sad disease. I think Glen having Jager and Adam to give him some reminders of his life helped ease his suffering.

It is scary for them. But, they do feel the love I think. At least, that's what I believe. Thanks for the wonderful review.

    Story

The love is still there. The memory may not be accessible, but the connection remains. I'm glad that came through because your experience was something I wanted to share. I saw the same thing and I'm glad it worked. Thank you so much!

    Story

Adi, what can I say. You provided two of the most crucial parts to this story. The rocking horse started me off and the final scene as you suggested. It's much better with this ending. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Story

Thank you!!! I'm so happy that endurance came through. I was a little concerned it would be missed. It seems like Adam and Glen came out as a team.

    Story

Thanks so much. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and now my aunt suffers. Especially early on, they know and it pains them. They try to hide it. I'm really thrilled it showed that aspect of it.
