I'd forgotten the actual word count and had to look. LOL CJ's always had interesting conversations with his fathers, and I wanted to retain the practice while toning down the jokes and having them interact as peers. He'll always look to them for guidance, but he's a grown ass man now. The Enclave Although I've modified the heck out of their house, the following is factual. Everhope's built on a 25' lot and has the next one as a courtyard. Total 50' facing the street. The alley's 15 feet wide, and Rod's lot's 25 feet too. Behind Everhope, on 10th Street, 4 row houses, each on a 12.5-foot lot, line up perfectly with CJ's property. The one on the end is appraised at around 1 million. FOR A 12.5-foot LOT! I think they should buy them, rehab them, and rent them to friends.

@pvtguy Thanks, Tony! Kids brains will accept adult words or childish crap, when parents treat children as small humans, they tend to do better. Glad CJ and Owen's approach worked for you. LOL

I'll think about it. Gotta have enough chapters left to carry us through when the next story will post. I'm tired of long hiatuses and I can only write so fast.

Fly into Barcelona and catch a ferry to Ibiza? You know we have to go dancing at Club ZXZY!

Petrichor and velichor are two favorites I've used before. Where's that list I printed out years ago? I need ammunition. I'm old too and must rely on google and Mr. Oxford to arm myself.

Are you challenging me to a word scuffle, Mr. Owens? LMAO In Malibu I used a bunch of 'elegant' words. Haven't done it in a while and I may be due. As for Liebe, she's quite loquacious, as we'll see soon enough. I was surprised by her wailing instead of demanding she be fed on the spot.

I recently looked for Vega Sicilia at a local liquor store. The few bottles they had were behind glass, locked, and cost around $500.00 each. Because CJ, Owen, and Liebe are stuck in Mexico, I had to rely on trips to feature some family members. CJ, Brett, and Ritch will make additional appearances.

If you and @Parker Owens continue to use dollar words in your comments, I may have to up my game. Like describing Taisha as being lissome. (Been wanting to use that one for a bit.)

Or when you're encouraged to do so by the original creator. In chapter 30

Glad you enjoy them. I probably write more 'regular' chapters than 'action' ones, but they're all designed to advance the story. I thought Liebe would be difficult to write, but as long as I keep her appearances short, I'm enjoying it. And she's good comedy relief.

You made me use the dictionary! What a great word. I think this is CJ's second b'day in Vail Quite a difference between 18 and 24. Although as we'll see in the next couple of chapters, CJ's still a kid at heart.

I've been reading about Huskies lately. Close enough to a wolf?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I accept bribes. An extra chapter for every bottle of Vega Sicilia...

@scrubber6620 Family interactions have always been at the core of the series. Looking back at the incident in high school, CJ kept quiet and it took Brett to interfere. These days, the fathers won't meddle as much, but will still provide advice. I'm kinda jelous my relationship with my parents was never as open as CJ's. Northman I fear will always suffer from inferiority and CJ's a bad one to have around constantly. Our guy's a magnet for recognition unlike his boss. I never thought a crossover with a wolves' tale would work, but I think we pulled it off.

Both Ranger and Cadet extended past the timeline for CDMX; I do revisit certain events where CJ and Owen made appearances. Christmas 2021 in Vail's a good example. I think I covered the entire thing in one chapter from Ritch's POV, but there are four in this story. Needless to say, I significantly expanded what took place while stealing portions from myself.

Why? What's next Friday? LOL I like to balance high drama chapters with slice-of-life ones. Making readers feel as if they're watching friends interact is always one of my goals. Wolf's become one of my go-to early readers. He gets my style and offers great suggestions. It was fun working out the details of our crossover.

@dughlas I look forward to hearing LIEBE! when she's a little older. She's gonna be sooo spoiled. Considering we heard about the cousin and siblings in Cadet, this scene was almost a flashback. I do try to provide details when I drop important news. Hell, I'm even doing it with the whole "Mexico incident" thing. LOL I enjoy highlighting stories I've enjoyed. Not that Wolf's need any help with popularity, but considering the different genres and potential differences in readers, we could both pick up new ones. Next time I reference another story, it'll be Brett reading.

Northman who? With so many willing sitters for Liebe, CJ can drown his problems in alcohol.

It's already begun. The ambassador hammered him over the performance review timing, and I suspect it will happen again.

You mean the squeal I heard came from you? Wolf initiated the cross pollination. I wasn't sure how we could tie a real-world story to a fantasy one, but I think it worked. Mazeltov on being first! LOL

César nearly collided with his son-in-law. “Ozzie!” The hug was awkward due to the backpack over Owen’s shoulder and the rolling suitcase he pulled. “What the heck’s keeping you guys out here?” “Hey, César. Just talking.” “Well, get in there already. Everyone’s waiting.” César patted Owen’s behind as he walked by. “OZZIE!” The greeting from multiple individuals was cheerful and loud. Once the door closed, silence returned to the garage. “Hey, Dad.” CJ dropped his luggage
