He'll be behind a desk a few times in his career while still flying. The 2040 transfer to the Pentagon sounds like it'll keep him on the ground more often than not. Maybe Brett will help since his last posting was in the same place. -

LOL I doubt I'll be using it enough to be embarrassed. It's primarily research so I can make my character realistic. -
At 16, I was too soft to have survived what Matt, the protagonist, did. Being decades older, I can see where he went wrong at times, but very much doubt I could have fared as well. Matt's story is sad, but it is a great example of how we can surmount improbable odds. I'm not much for poetry but the last two lines of Invictus come to mind: I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul. Matt certainly is. I hope Dan and Andrew are still part of his life.

Interestingly enough, I was chatting with this guy I know who's hearing impaired earlier today. He can talk and hear some. I was thinking of asking him to teach me a little ASL, since I'll have a graduate of Gallaudet University as a recurring character coming soon. -

Okie dokey. So, y'all know CDMX is next. I'm also working on Flying Circus and Coral Castles. The Mexico story's going to be a lot of chapters even though they'll be short. Flying Circus is set at 9 longer chapters, and Coral Castles will be another 3k word kids' story. That leaves Everhope (CJ and Owen back home for about 2 years after Mexico) Harley, Thiago (I'm going to Atlanta next month and will do a bit of research), Tank (I still have my New Orleans notes from my last trip there), Ethan, Carson, and Lincoln. And of course I'd like to write one about Phil and Riley while playing in the NFL. I may want input about the order. -

What was that? Like a week after arriving in DC? That was one pissed off teen at the time. -

I did promise regular Chipper updates. We know he spent 2021 in the studio and touring with Maroon 5. Now we know he's been on tour for 9 er a year, but the moment Ritch called, Chipper agreed to interrupt his rest and perform. Family sticks together. Since the Mexico City story begins in 2021, I'll have the chance to give a bit more detail on his tour. When the cadets were in Cancun, Owen mentioned attending a Chipper concert. I'll take you guys there. But first, how about peeking at the Colorado concert in the next chapter? -

To a degree, Ritch is like many young military men who focus on learning how to fire weapons and fight. In his case the fixations on flying. Thankfully, he has the capability to rise above the one item. And we desperitely need good officers. Just this week the Air Force filed court martial charges against a 2 star General due to se ual misconduct. I smiled knowing I had dealt with the matter and Ritch had learned his lesson -

This story owes more to you than most people will ever realize. Of course, knowing your husband is also enjoying it gives me a double bang. Oops, I said bang. He,he,he. -

I think Ritch has the capability, but not the desire. CJ has both in abundance. -

Of course you were in command. LOL So since Ritch is now your favorite, can I discard the outline of Harley's solo adventures? -

Yes, Rampart Loge is the base's hotel. I gave details on it an earlier chapter when Brad Kennedy stayed there. -

His brother avoided the limelight for a bit but eventually embraced it. I don't think Ritch will ever be as comfortable. -

I try to give an idea of the countless details needed, but unless one's involved in such an endeavor, it's often hard to comprehend the amount of work involved. As for Lucy, she may appear in the next chapter. -

Thank you, Parker. I think the young man's realizing one way or the other, the politics he has despised will play a role in his career. They can't be avoided. Being a bit older, Chipper's advice and support has to be welcome. When I wrote Singer and Ranger, I promised updates on them. Brad appeared early in the story and now it's Chipper's turn. I'm sending you a complimentary admission to his concert. -

Thank you! Guided by his fathers' and his brother's words and actions, Ritch's discovering how well suited he is for command. -

Damn, just lost my reply. Anyway, thank you and I can relate. Damn characters intrude in my thoughts whenever I encounter or read something interesting. Recently, while waiting for a basketball game to start, I caught an episode of Running Wild with Bear Gryllis. I probably missed most of what was on TV when my brain tried to decide who, when, and how I could send a character on s survival adventure. I did figure it out. -
I have my moments.

Thank you, Alex! And thank you for all the reactions!

It's extremely flattering when readers like my writing sufficiently to read something I post without bothering to look at the story's description. That level of trust's priceless. In one of the previous two stories in this series, someone had a similar reaction to yours. They commented on me using Liebe as a name for two different characters. I suggested the individual take a look at the main page where I explained these are stories Owen told his daughter. Of course he would name the character after his own child. He used Tag and Pete as stand-ins for himself and CJ. Stalking fictional characters is entirely acceptable.

While in Washington the previous December, following the conversation about the incipient community for homeless veterans in Colorado Springs, Brett insisted Ritch accompany him to Heroes Haven for a visit between Christmas and New Year’s. “You haven’t been there in a while. The place’s grown and matured. It really is like a small town neighborhood.” “I’m sure the documentary winning an Oscar helped them raise money.” Ritch already had a DVD of A Home for Warriors stashed in his backpack t

Tentatively late July. My friends have a summer house in the Hamptons and although the husband will travel back to the city now and then, the wife plans to be out there for 4 months.

Thank you, Parker. Just so you know, the sight sticks with adults too. It's amazing how they all rush out making the sand look alive.

Thanks Jeff. I'm not sure what timing is in places like Australia and Hawaii, but in South Florida summertime is nesting season. I live 10 minutes from the beach and sometimes next month strrt lights near the water will be dimmed. Check out the Sea Turtle Conservancy's website for more info. https://www.conserveturtles.org/
