We just read about the process for even being allowed to apply to the Academy. After jumping through so many hoops, only 10% of applicants are accepted. That tells me these four guys are above average. Smart enough not to get trapped in anything. These are officer candidates, not regular airmen.
Brett and Cesar, as we've seen, are heavily involved in their sons' lives. I'm certain they have discussed the perils of wealth with Ritch.
Now, why would you even think that? You must be reading a lot of crappy stories where women are not to be trusted. She was nice enough to buy them lunch, and try to make their leave a bit more enjoyable. And sometimes, a fuck's just a fuck. Particualrly when you're a teenager and someone's willing to put out.
“Why the fuck are they taking so long?” Ritch was frustrated; he hated the military’s hurry up and wait approach to everything. “I mean, we’re all here. Let’s get this shit show on the road.”

I have more CJ proper stories planned but the next one may not begin posting until next year. Let me get through Cadet and a couple of small projects, and I'll start writing. Once you're all caught up, you'll have to make do with weekly Cadet chapters.
For those who've read the CJ series, we know The Squad may have dispersed but most of them return to D.C. when CJ becomes President. And hopefully, anyone he appoints to high office will be confirmed on a timely basis.

THANK YOU!!!!!
I did say I had multiple issues posting this chapter. The duplication has been removed.
Not sure about the next chapter, there may be sexual references included LOL
The news last night had a report on a Paralympics runner befriending a little kid learning how to use an artificial leg. The athlete's blades immediately made me think of Brad. I suspect by the time Brad reaches middle age, advances in prosthetics will have him walking/running as if he had his real legs back.
