If Cesar had not been around as a calming influence, Llorosa may have fared worse.

We'll see CJ's reaction at some point in time. I plan on him and Owen visiting Camala next time they're in L.A.. I can't wait until they meet Fernando and Meryl!

I might not have been as calm. When my temper flares up, I go a little nuts. I liked showing how Brett loses his cool but Cesar calms him down without disagreeing with him.

Thank you! Nothing like a little disrespect to rile up my guys.

Well, lucky me! I do something similar on a regular basis, trying out chapters here and there. You picked a good one with this one, it's one of my favorite ones in the story. I think Mr. Llorosa will think twice before he pulls something similar again.

“You look good, Jarhead.” César smiled while nodding. He was at last satisfied with Brett’s attire. The marine winked at his husband and stuck a pair of sunglasses atop his head. Tuesday after the long, holiday weekend had finally arrived. “Let’s go, Big Daddy. Let’s go reclaim some artwork and buy a house to display it all in.” “Good morning. We’re here to see Mr. Llorosa.” Brett sounded upbeat and looked relaxed. Morning sex agreed with him too. At César’s suggestion, he had a
  7. Thanks for all the hard work, Renee. I haven't written for every anthology but when I've done so, the reaction's always been great. I plan on participating in as many as I can in the future. People complaining about posting order is something I'm surprised at. What difference does it make if all our stories end up being featured at one point or another? I'll probably have more to say about anthologies in the future; for now, I encourage all authors to look at the fall themes and start working on your submission for the next round!

@pondman & @Timothy M. The timing of your comments is quite interesting. I have a new short story being edited right now I hope to post next month. It's an expansion of a flash piece I wrote way back when, and it recounts Colt and Apollo meeting amongst other things. I Promise will get a makeover as soon as I have time.

    Chapter 8

God, he's such a Mama's boy. He got rid of one woman now he needs to ditch the old witch. Nothing good will happen as long as he allows her to influence his life. Those dogs could be turned into wolf chow...
  11. As is often the case with great stories, I found myself upset and craving more when I reached the end of Widderkin. The author created such a marvelous cast of characters and intriguing events that another 52 chapters would have been welcome. Alas, that's not going to happen any time soon, even though I am hopeful an update on the MCs will appear one of these days. Until then, I'd like to recommend you read the story because you will enjoy it. In other stories of his, Palantir has shown an affinity--a love--for his Australia, it's flora and fauna; and a respect bordering on reverence for First Australians and their heritage. Although Widderkin takes place mostly in a fantasy land, the references and comparisons to Aussie plants and animals is still there. Readers may have trouble not falling in love with the old continent. All those details enhance the pleasure of reading about fantastical creatures, elves, magical stones, and the challenges five stranded friends must face while trying to find a way back home to Earth. Once again, I strongly recommend Widderkin but suggest you keep a Strayan slang dictionary handy.

@Bft This is Duke, the Bush's Beans mascot appearing in countless commercials. His real name was Sam, and he died this past week.

One reason I decided to use Brock was theopportunity to highlight Jack's work. I don't think he's been read enough! Ryker will pop in a few times in future stories. Me and my long-term planning LOL He'll play a role in CJ's future.

I've dealt with a pushy queen more than once. THere was a guy in my motorcycle club who was 'Mary this and girlfriend that' all the time. I used him as inspiration.

I'm hoping people will follow the link, read Baked Beans, and show it some love. It's a little gem of a story. This all takes place in January 2021, depending on when Brock and Ryker visit Washington, they may not get to meet CJ. He may already be in Mexico. However, we know CJ and Ozzie will be in L.A. In early 2022 for the Oscars. I plan on an entire chapter for that trip so that would be the latest they would interact. SPOILER Ryker ends up at Georgetown. LOL

Yeah, well, it's all in vain anyway. They do end up with someone and I already mentioned who it was in another story.

I am too! Unlike many stories written a decade or so ago, his stand up to time pretty well. I have a couple of trips to Vegas planned for my crew and I may use Jack's Barcelona Hotel as the setting.

I figured my fellow MCU fans would appreciate it. Now we need to wait and see if Chipper, Bryce, and Zion do get bit parts in the movie.Just another little loose thread I may pull on in the future. LOL

I've made my enjoyment of Jack's stories known before. When casting Malibu, I needed a famous person as their neighbor for several reasons (some of it in future stories.) I toyed with the idea of using Jack's actor turned attorney but that one lives in a high rise and I already had Miles. Baked Beans and Brock seemed perfect as there was only the one story and not a lot of baggage. I hope Jack doesn't mind me killing off Aaron and appreciates the way I handled Brock.

In today's world, so many of us reveal so much about our lives on social media, it's easy to be instant friends when you meet someone you follow on any of the apps.

Get in line for the job LOL CJ's been kinda quiet the past couple of years, so I had to rely on Chipper to get his name out. I have plans for Ryker.
