  1. Five more days and we'll get some answers. Somebody better step up and help her.
  2. I gave a quick update on CJ, Owen and Liebe in Singer, and updated us on Chipper's lives. I plan to include further details about our favorite daddies and daughter in future Squad spinoffs. Here's hoping Owen's father and grandfather do the same for future offspring; maybe then he'll branch off into different varietals. I loved the Verdehlos I tasted when I visited the Hunter Valley and haven't been able to find any in South Florida. Last one I tasted was from Portugal and tasted like crap.
  3. That little bit was inspired by an old friend of mine. When his daughter was born, he required anyone coming near her for the first few week to wear a face mask. A couple of years later, I agreed to drive his wife and daughter in my truck to a nursery to buy plants. The kid was crawling in the dirt as soon as we got out. Her mother claimed she had to somehow make up for the germophobe father.
  4. LOL- Sorry, bud. You're gonna have to wait for the story to post.

Yuck! My writing was soooo crappy. It's still far from perfect but not as bad. Read it again for the first time in ages and I feel the need to edit. Mostly punctuation and a few errant words that should be excised. Maybe during the last week of the year when I scheduled seven days free of writing. There goes that old-year resolution.
  6. The CJ series is a commitment although not as big as Arbour's CAP. But it's done a few times a year by new readers. If you want to get a feel for the characters, take a look at Ripper Christmas now posting. It can be read without knowledge of what went on before and it's an under 12k word short story.
  7. None of that will work with my CJ series, but you would have to read it to understand. Example: I wrote about some characters attending a football game in Orlando on Labor Day Weekend 2019. The game was scheduled but I refrained from mentioned who won. After the chapter was posted, ESPN moved the game to the weekend before. It's happened a couple of times and I don't like it. Another instance was them being at a party with a couple who has since separated! That instance I may want to go back and modify at some point.
  8. My problem's not so much the political side but other events that permeate my stories. By writing in the future I lose the ability to discuss/highlight current events. Having a Super Bowl watching party's not as much fun to write about if I can't name teams or individuals. ie I wrote a scene about the Rio Olympics opening and featured Gisele Bündchen's catwalk. The reality connection's important to this particular series.
  9. AN who would that be?
  10. Characters. And they are new ones who will eventually appear in other stories.
  11. @Dr. John NYC And kudos to your friend for having a breakthrough. Owen mentioned they all missed Liz but her death was a fact they had to live with. Or something like that. I think they key event is acceptance and Pam's still fighting it. Thanks for the thoughtful comment, my friend.
  12. Hmmmm, have you been reading ahead? I don't have a problem with her wanting to baptize her granddaughter, but suggesting they do it behind CJ's back is abhorrent. I don't watch the show, but my brother told me about an episode of Modern Family that dealt with a similar situtation. Of course, it was done for laughs, but it told me what I wrote wasn't so far off reality. Pam should have know after all their time together neither Owen nor CJ would even consider doing something the other one objects to behind their back.
  13. I hope you do enjoy it, Jeff. This was my attempt to close the Spencer/Tilda arc I started a long time ago, and bring Liebe full circle back to Australia.
  14. I punted. There was no way I could delve into her recovery in detail with a short story. A solution's hinted at in the final chapters, but her recovery will take time. There's no magic way to quickly deal with the loss of a child.
  15. Thanks, buddy
  16. Thank you, sir
  17. @Jeff1 We all handle loss differently but sooner or later we have to accept it. Pam has obviously not done so. Her fears are affecting her behavior and stressing out the family. We'll see if anything else is bothering her and how the family deals with her actions.
  18. Most of us are multi dimensional, in this story CJ's calm while Owen explodes. We've seen the reverse before.
  19. I always try to ensure my characters are well rounded. Even in his anger, Owen's trying to be rational.
  20. Save some for next week!
  21. @Daddydavek
  22. Not wanting this chapter to be totally about the confrontations with Pam, I tried to interject a bit of normality with the yabbies and the presents. I also wanted to show CJ behaving and deferring to Owen when it came to dealing with Pam. Seven years after meeting each other, it should be clear they're a well-oiled machine working as a couple and not individuals.
  23. I hope Owen's threat of staying away and not letting her near Liebe will snap her out of her depression long enough to seek help.
  24. Get in line. I'm not even the first one in the queue; @Defiance19 has been waiting for that first bottle of Liston wine sold at the corner bodega.
