@wildone Funny guy! I don't care, honestly. Simply trying to report boo-boos when I come across them.

César Marcos Abelló Jr. and Owen Zachary Liston remained entwined, sharing their first kiss as a married couple, when chaos erupted around them. Shouts drowned out Father Chance Highbottom’s final words. The newlyweds were jostled to the ground. Decorum disappeared as the groomsmen pounced on them, screaming congratulations and cheering. Ritchie Peterson and Spencer Liston―each one serving their respective brother as best man―led the assault. They hefted the ring boy and flower girl, ten-

Anthology Flashback: Summer 2012 - Choices
Carlos Hazday commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors News
The flashbacks are way cool but their frequency is a problem. A weekly dose of old stories added to the new stuff posted is a bit much to keep up with. And at this rate, you'll run out of anthologies real soon. -
Although I've made it clear the series isn't a romance but a coming-of-age story, falling in love is part of the process. I figured they've been together long enough to make it official. Two more days and we get to the reception!

Thanks, tim. A couple more mushy chapters and I'll be back to being a hardass.

Thank you! Just trying to share the love here.

Newsletter Game: Pride Month Headline!

I can't wait until people get to read this little gem. Yep, I already did and it's definitely a winner! Or since it involves gay men should I say 'wiener?' -
Gabe is a primatologist plagued by dreams about alien abduction. They wake him up at night and disturb not only his sleep but his partner's, and his scientific endeavors as well. There are faint echoes of Sir Arthur C. Clarke in this wonderful tale. From the opening scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey to Childhood's End, and including one of my favorite short stories of all time: Reunion. The author's imagination gifts us a science fiction yarn worthy of elaboration. Exploring the ancient questions of "Are we alone in the universe?" and "Why are we here?" the ending and implications left me wanting more. This is a gem worth reading.

Fairly common in South Florida too.

Thanks, Beavis! I had to read through the chapter to find the Toys R Us reference; I couldn't recall it. That reading was enjoyable; this was a pretty cool chapter. It was fun to see what CJ and Ritchie were like three and a half years before the latest chapter. My how they've grown. As for the TRU reference, I mentioned them again in my outline for a future chapter and had to go change it since they're now closed. It's what made me decide I had to be careful with real-world references while writing in the future. Butthead

Thanks! Guess I accomplished my goal: To have the readers feel as if they were present and part of the celebration.

Thank you, my friend. I always try to get the details right but much more so with this chapter. I knew they would get married as soon as I started writing the story. Over the past few years, I refined what I wanted and spent time researching everything from locations, to outfits, to catering. I'm so glad you enjoyed it all.

CJ By Carlos Hazday - Series Discussion
Carlos Hazday replied to Carlos Hazday's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
A Harley-Davidson branded short-sleeved shirt, jeans, and boots? I never got that far LOL I tried to keep the attire a surprise until the last moment. The conversation with Yousef during dinner, CJ mentioning a Great Gatsby theme to Brett, and the garment bags carried aboard the motorhome where misdirections. As for who else attended More shall be revealed in the next chapter. For the record, I took some literary liberties with Secret Service presence and behavior. They weren't as intrusive any of the times I've met a President in person.- 3,873 replies

CJ By Carlos Hazday - Series Discussion
Carlos Hazday replied to Carlos Hazday's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
In August 2017 I spent a week in New Orleans for a convention. Wandering through the Garden District I found a place for a hot-towel shave the day of the closing banquet. I ended up with the owner shaving me and we talked. I mentioned the CJ series, how I'd created an up-scale barbershop and how his shop embodied my fictitious location. He graciously waived the no-photographs-allowed policy. If you're ever in the Crescent City, check out Aidan Gill for Men. Here's a link to the website and a picture of the front area of the shop. This is what I imagine The Polished Man looks like. https://www.aidangillformen.com/- 3,873 replies

I know it's supposed to be a tearjerker but what I remember are Dukakis and MacLaine and their bickering. Describing the football team's uniforms as aubergine still cracks me up.
-
To quote Olympia Dukakis (I think it was her) talking to her friend in Steel Magnolias (Yeah, I know it's a chick flick): "You are evil and must be destroyed!" 😈

Thanks, Jeff CJ may take after Cesar in his planning but he has Brett's sense of humor. Neither one takes themselves too seriously. Although Barack and Michelle do have a good scene in the next chapter, I tried to limit the name dropping and star appearances. There'll be some during the reception but for the most part, I tried to concentrate on CJ, Owen, their family, and their BFFs
-
Of course it's him! He'll pay you off to keep you quiet and it'll be out of his own money.

Both Kennedy brothers have good parts next chapter

I... must... resist! Those five words are screaming at me and I have too much on my plate already!

Hush, lady. My reputation!!!
