@ShadeBear Sent you a PM, stud. Glad you liked my little story.

@Daddydavek Much as what I did with Thin Blue Line, this story helps me deal with tragic current events. CJ's the perfect tool to express some of my own frustrations and I'll do this again if it's warranted.

@BlindAmbition I do not socialize much online unless there's a reason for it. Spent some time on Facebook recently due to my trip to New Orleans and today I'm on here more than usual because I like to reply to all comments within 24 hours. If a reader takes the time to write me I think they deserve a timely response. And I've not been sitting around eating chips, I have 18 chapters completed on the next story which should begin posting before the end of the year.

@Zeke Pine Many of my characters have a social conscience which guides their actions, none more than CJ. His stants against bullying and discrimination are at the core of the series. You're doing well, Zeke. Leaving comments is more than most readers do so no need to apologize.

@Peter from Perth The cultural differences regarding gun ownership is something I've dealt with, I thought it was important to show CJ and Ozzie not always agreeing on everything. I figured this story would get me some flak from mostly Euros and Aussies but it's part of showing CJ growing up and taking responsibility for his actions. After Charlottesville I kept thinking how similar the situation was to the encounters Freedom Riders had with segragationists 50 years ago. CJ would have been aboard those buses if he had been alive back then,.

@Bucket1 Are you suggesting CJ should run for office? Problem with attacking him is the right can't say he shouldn't have a gun and the left can't suggest he should have alllowed the bad guy to beat him and the lady up. He ends up ticking off both sides and I kinda like that approach!

@chris191070 All those people he's met and phone numbers he's collected may one day be useful to him, for now, he has to accept he's been a public personality and like Cesar said, his looks and actions will always attract attention.

@avidreadr I'm not ready to have CJ shoot the gun except at the range just yet. Sometimes it blows my mind how the core group of characters have become a part of my life. The dads may have similar values but each of them expresses himself in their own way. Brett does have a tendency to use humor even when it's not entirely appropriate. Cesar controls himself a little better LOL

@Reader1810 Lola's an integral part of the story but it's the man wielding it who matters. With his words, his fists, and now with a piece of hardware, CJ's going to battle injustice whenever it rears its ugly head around him.

@dughlas Just wait a coule of months, the desired for anonimity will be shattered once again. Since this is fiction, CJ gets to do the right thing most of the time. His standing up for what he believes is right has to be at the core of his beliefs. My fervent hope is more people will feel like he does.

@Justleah You're not alone! I have a list of stories I'd like to write but CJ seems to occupy my thoughts so often I can't do anything else. Maybe when I'm done with the series I'll tackle some of the other ideas gathering dust on my hard drive.

Hunting Season At nineteen and about to begin his sophomore year at the Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, César Marcos Abelló, Jr. had more political savvy than most people he associated with. His philosophy not yet completely defined―his views on the military and the economy aligned with conservatives but he identified with liberals on most social issues―shades of gray colored his ideology In certain areas. The early morning start meant an u

A college student puts his life at risk by standing up against hate.

@straightgayguy27 Thanks for the praise, bud. I love how you and others followed me over to GA from Nifty. Georgetown is in the process of being written but I have no posting time table right now. I won't start posting until enough chapters are edited to ensure no interruptions in publishing, and the process hasn't begun. I'm leaving town on a motorcycle trip tomorrow and will be back home in 10-14 days (it all depends on how interesting I find the roads) When I get back, I'll approach Mann Ramblings and try to start him editing (keep your fingers crossed he has the time. In the meantime, I'll try to post another scene to the discussion thread sometime soon. And whenever I have an estimate I'll share a date. Hang in there, the story's not abandoned and will return as soon as possible.

@hillj69 They story grows on me each time I read it. I'm big on tradition and family and Melvyn Ford focuses on both.
-
Thanks for the like @Daddydavek You inspired me to read the story and comments and once again I may have shed a tear or two while smiling.
-
Thank you, Myr! For the informative update and for all your efforts to make GA better than it already is.I'll be quoting you trying to encourage others to read your entry.

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul 30 - Aug 5)
Carlos Hazday commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I missed the Ask An Author feature this week. Does anyone know if @Dark's okay? I haven't heard from her in quite a while. -
@Cajbor Thank you! I'm delighted you've enjoyed the series, and thank you for all the likes. That line, and the entire final paragraph, were written with future chapters in mind. I'm about three quarters of the way writing Georgetown and have a few scenes of the book after that already done. I'm hoping to start the editing process in the next few weeks and once I have a decent inventory of completed chapters I'll start posting them. Thanks once again and please stick around, much more's on the way. (You may want to check the CJ Discussion thread in the Promising Authors Forum. I posted one scene as sneak preview of things to come this past week.)

Let's hope so. From a business point of view, the bug may be costing you eyes. It certainly reduces my interest (and maybe others) in checking the site frequently. Insted of clicking on a tab I have to sign in everytime. Sometime those few extra keystrokes are not worth it!

Sorry, Myr, not working. After clearing cookies and browsing history, GA still signs me off arbitrarily.

@Myr. Thank you!

Sony laptop, Windows 10, Firefox, no ad blocker I unpublished chapter 10 of a story (Summer) in order to fix a typo. Once I was finished I republished the story. The system however decided to also unpublish all chapters after the one I wanted to work on. While i'm at it: 1. There are still no notifications when someone leaves a comment on one of my chapters. 2. The system's still kicking me out on a selective basis and across 3 different platforms (iPad & Android phone) Signing back in all the time's a pain in the neck. 3. Advanced story search does not work when selecting multiple variables. (I was looking for completed Sci-Fi stories) I tried several times but I keep getting the same list full of In Process stories. Suggestions? ETA for fixes?

LOL A thing for Aussies? Well, my current crush is one of you. Been watching Rugby League games lately and Angus Crichton is it. Too bad the guy's like a third my age! Anyway, I finished writing Georgetown chapter 15 yesterday. I'll start the next one as soon as I settle some things in my mind. A few of the chapters have had an initial beta read to make sure continuity and such are okay but there has been no editing done. And since that depends on the editor being available, I think it's going to be a good while until the new book comes to GA. Thanks for your continued support, mate!

Hey, old man! Best wishes for a great day with lots of sales at the fair. I'm done with my inking for the year so it's time for you to pick up the slack. And don't forget CJ's waiting for you. It's only been a month but I have vultures swooping in asking for more.
