Thank you for sharing, Matt. We can't always solve the big problems, but often we can make a difference with a small gesture. Sorry for focusing on a small aspect of your comments:
1. Do you have your own classroom?
2. If so, can you recruit some friends to provide manual labor?
3. If you do and you start a Go Fund Me campaign to pay for paint and supplies, I'll pledge $100.00 to it. If I was closer I'd pitch in and bring my own paint brush.
LOL- I'm glad you stumbled, David. And that you liked what you fell into. I've tried to write an uplifting story and promise to keep the same approach in the future.
Cangratulations! I just gave you your first GA reputation point. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you, Don.
Sorry the story ended so soon after your binge reading, but I promise CJ and the rest of the guys will be back. Hopefully better than ever. It's going to be fun to write about a college student, even more than it was about a high school one.
It's always hard to end a book but this was the right spot for this one. CJ's first year in Washinton was all about discovery. The last two have been about growing. The next four will allow him to learn and develop further and I have big plans for our boy. Stick around, it'll be a fun ride.
Thank you! It's great to hear from people who don't usually comment. I can't do anything about your patience (or lack of) it's not one of my virtues! LOL But I can promise I'm already working on Georgetown and I think it'll be an even better book.
LOL - His sisters still call him Oshie now and then. And for the record, his full name was revealed when he was first introduced.
American Steel will post before Georgetown does. However, that will not be until September. The next installment of the biker takes him to New Orleans and I'm waiting until August when I'll be in the city to do some 'research'.
Thanks, Bill.
Georgetown's first section will cover the period up through election night. I'll just say he and Owen were in New York for the evening. You'll have to wait for more but hopefully it'll only be a couple of months.
Ooops, calendar production is on hold while we're on hiatus... We may have to wait until HBO casts the movie version
Why chooose? One of each sounds like a perfect way to not making a decision!
Tried to reply and it got lost, let's try again
I've made myself tear up repeatedly while reading Obama's letter and CJ's final words. Go ahead, call me a sap.
BRAVO! Chatri was the first friend CJ made on his own. CJ was the best man at the wedding and the first one to hold the newborn after the parents. Chatri had to be at CJ's milestone. The actual scene is irrelevant. Throwaway lines which hopefully elicited a chuckle. The real reason for it was to give Chatri some airtime.Dr. Mookjai will be around for a while.
Thanks, Spikey. I look forward to your continued feedback when posting resumes. You've been a treasure to have as a reader. ANd I'm not sure why, but I was writing a scene involving Lola this week and thought of you. See? You've played a part in this little adventure.
You guys are messing with me, right? I've been writing something set in Australia so my mind has Oztrayan creeping around. And now I get Spanish and Italian? Thank goodness I have a couple of brain cells left. I was able to understand the Italian by going word by word!
Hopefully the wait won't be too long. Thank you so much for reading and leaving comments.
Gracias a ti! Por siempre decir Presnte!
Although the next installment is under way, I wanted Walls to almost stand on it's own. If it really ended here, readers could fashion their own futures for the characters. But don't get to involved in that, I definitely have something to say on the matter. LOL
@wildone That doesn't seem to make sense. If you're blaming the system then there's something wrong with it. I posted a chapter on Thursday I expected to see in this week's update. I assumed the one which published this morning would show up next week.
LMAO!
Right, I don't need to make a fool of myself! I'll leave poetry to those talented enough to write it like you and AC. I will not be posting anything for at least a couple of months. The next thing will be a new chapter of American Steel in all likelyhood. I started the chapter a long time ago and put it aside to concentrate on CJ and to wait for some research. It takes place in New Orleans and I'll be there in August. Have to visit a few establishments to figure out where my MC will stop by for cocktails.
What tim said!
At least all you had to do was look in a different section. My posting of a Walls chapter was entirely ignored. I guess being promoted doesn't gurantee promotion of my work
I'm going to miss not seeing my name at the end of each weekly update now that Walls is finished.
Australia all started with making JP an Aussie. I wanted the Elite to be a diverse group and I wanted one of the guys to be a diplomat. My 2009 trip down under was still fresh enough in my mind it inspired me. Although I did think of making him a South African at one point. But my Afrikaans worst than my Oztrayan! Hang in there Buck, you'll get over the romantic stuff. I write that for Spikey's benefit anyway.
I've tried to inspire different emotions with the story but laughter has always been a priority. If I want sadness and sillynes I'll watch the news or check the Twitter feed. I want to show the possibilities or rising above whatever challenges we face with grace and determination. Hopefully CJ has accomplished just that.
Thank you!
I'm trying to think of who I know in California who might be able to console you, boy. Maybe Adrian, he's a fraternity bear brother of mine in LA. You'd like him.
Firm beleiver in HEA endings. This one may not qualify entirely but I do like to finish on a high note. And it may be sentimental but hey, we all have our moments of weakness, CJ's allowed one or two a year.
Very glad you've enjoyed the ride, buddy. We'll be back sometime in the near future.
LMAO!
Look for the motorcycles and then let me know about it. CJ will stay in Washinton this year for Capital Pride but maybe I'll drag him up to NYC next year. I haven't been to a New York Pride in over a decade and I don't remember all the details of that one except leaving the dance floor with just enough time to make it to the parade!
We never really leave the nest, do we? I have a feeling the basement at 3600 Prospect will continue to be THE gathering spot for the Elite and the Squad. You'll see, I may even have Sean come stay for a while
