Yavonny's reaction and comments are loosely based on conversations with a good friend in my motorcycle club. The large majority of us are white and we sometimes fail to realize how different things are for someone with darker skin. Hopefully this will raise awareness amongst readers about how things in the real world are. Anyone who claims racism doesn't exist in our country is nuts as far as I'm concerned.

@JayT I wanted a little fun and excitement before the book's final chapter and a road trip with the boys seemed appropriate since CJ likes traveling so much. Don't you wish you had the same abilities my boy does? I sure as hell get jealous of fime now and then.

@gazza456 Sydney hosted the Bingham Cup in 2014. Even though I had CJ in Australia that summer/winter, the dates of the competition didn't fit with my timeline. And anyway, it worked out for the best since with Owen playing for the Scandals it gave me a realistic reason for CJ to be there. The 2018 contest will take place in Amsterdam!
  4. @Butcher56 Thank you! I try to mix things up within a chapter whenever possible. Humor has been part of the story from the beginning and hopefully I've been able to make readers smile and laugh along with the characters.
  5. Ritchie will definitely benefit from having his big brother in the same house again. And the dads will take good care of him too.

“Wake and bake, bruh! Best frickin’ way to start a Sunday.” Harley’s enthusiasm was infectious; CJ couldn’t stop grinning as he passed the joint back. “You’re nuts, Harley. I don’t think I could do this all the time. Getting high first thing in the morning means I’ll prolly be useless the rest of the day.” Although sleepovers at CJ’s place weren’t as frequent as they’d once been, Harley had spent Saturday at the Prospect Street townhouse. His birthday had been on Friday and CJ surprised his

It's unfortunate it took his parents' dying for Ritchie to be reunited with his brother but I think it's going to be good for both of them. Kids are resilient and Ritchie will thrive in the more relaxed atmosphere of the Georgetown townhouse.

CJ's older and hopefully wiser but the dads are going to always worry about him. After all, it's what parents do. CJ being a quasi public figure I'm certain makes it harder on them. Ethan's most definitely a member of CJ's group of close friends now.

Better CJ than a stranger! And at least he wsn't alone. Having the dads with him I'm sure made it easier for him.
  10. Some people are born leaders and CJ's one of those. He leads with words and by example but has been a tad reckless in the past. Hopefully he's learning how to control his anger and the ensuing reactions.

It definitely has. CJ will end up surrounding himself with friends who'll be around for a long time to come.
  12. LMAO @Mann Ramblings has been known to share and spread his talent around. And I've heard a bottle of brandy can be persuasive with him. Doesn't even have to be an expensive one!
  13. Outstanding! As usual I'm delighted by the tidbits revealed in this blog. Thanks, Dark. And than you, authors! Edit- I forgot to mention Mann's also a kick-ass editor. Unfortunately for most of you, he's currently under contract and unavailable.
  14. Mazeltov!
  15. I think the boys enjoyed the farm and will have an even better time when CJ does get his own motorcycle and the two of them can go riding together! I wouldn't have minded having Harley's grandparents as my own!
  16. Brett survive but the crash and his injury will lead to big changes in his life.

    Dedication

Brett's not the only member of the military in the story. Tom served in the army and in the future there'll be others.

    Growin' Up

I'm glad you don't have to wait to find out what happens next. Those readers who had to suffer through the intermission were getting the pitchforks ready!
  19. Ritchie's going to spend time with his brother even if Dickhead doesn't like the idea. Their grandmother will ensure they get to visit each other.

    Cautious Man

You've read ahead so you know what happens between Owen and CJ but since others may read this in the future I can't comment further!
  21. @Butcher56 Brett tends to blow up quick but he's already had CJ stand up to him and it won't be the last time it happens. Papa will learn.

    Dedication

@Butcher56 Some of CJ's travels are based on my own while others are the result of research. This won't be the last time we visit Australia, I have too many good memories to share in just a couple of chapters!
  23. @Butcher56 The existance of the family foundation is proof of Brett's family altruism. CJ's concern for others will be nurtured by both fathers and he'll soon get a say in how his dads' charitable contributions are made.

    Human Touch

The loose ends from Summer's final chapter will be tied up in the next couple of chapters. But the events will have repercussions for a while. If you think of the first four books in the series as a single, really long one, you'll get the entire story of CJ's first year in Washington. I think you'll like what's ahead.

    No Surrender

By now you've probably figured out the cast grows a bit in the future. Hopefully you can keep track of who's who. Humor is important in my life and I've tried to infuse some into the story. And the relationship between the friends is also a loose echo from my own life. I've used my relationship with my brothers and with friends as a basis for the conversations the guys have. Washington is a great city to visit. History at every turn. My first visit was with a bunch of classmates as a senior in high school and I have yet to tire of the city. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!
