    Mary's Place

My outline evolves with current events. Particularly now that I'm writing less than a year in the past!
  2. Reading over all these comments after so much time is a thrill. I'm amazed at some of the insightful comments and still find it fascinating how some readers focus on oine part of the story while other preffer different sections. Reading yours now I'm wondering if you saw a glimpse of what you had planned for Wally/Scott. Bernardo definitile qualifies as a predator.

Reading this comment made me realize you gave up too early on that bionic story arc...

Then welcome to the family! For I sure as heck seem to think of most of the characters that way. Yesterday, CJ and Cesar had a long detailed conversation about finances in my head. I was doing chores and realized I was rehearsing a possible scene. It won't make it into the story. Too long and too much detail of how some of the investments work. But a line or two will end up as a summary. I realized I've been doing it a lot. I'll stop at the end of a scene and then play with the next one in my mind, often with actual dialogue, Sometimes I discard it, sometimes I run to get one of my pads and write down a summary. No matter what, they are a part of my life now.

I'm impressed, bud! And thankful! Each and everyone of your LIKES has made me smile. Let's make sure I'm not the cause of any pre-marital discord, okay? Now that you're all caught up, take a break for a couple of days and then get ready for a new installment on Friday morning. Thanks for the feedback; it's truly appreciated.

Thank you! I keep trying to improve and hopefully it's something readers can see. Stick around, much more's on the way.
  7. Happy birthday, young man. Hope dinner was good and your upcoming celebration with the family's even better.

You need to stop hanging out with Def when I send you new chapters. @Defiance19 is a bad influence.

Thanks, bud. I introduced Janelle near the end of Spring knowing what I'd planned for her. A reader at that point commented he didn't like her attitude and I had to smile. CJ's confrontation was popular as was Brett's support. I wanted to show the dads disagreeing and arguing. They may have an idillic relationship but it's not realistic for them never to lock horns. I've alluded to differences of opinions before but this was the first major disagreement on camera. Hopefully it helped readers realize good men can look at things differ in what they see. But that shouldn't interfere with the underlying feelings between them. Thanks for all the likes. Each time I see one pop up I smile. Hope you're enjoying binge reading the story!
  10. Apologies for the delayed response; just figured out how to see if there were chapter comments yesterday. Nope, no shame whatsoever here. I told you I don't write romance so I couldn't very well have CJ and Ozzie acting all lovey-dovey all the time. And it was worth it from my point of view. It was fun surprising you guys. And the NYE timing was so I could keep alternating good and bad events at the end of each year. About the ink: You have a little time but don't wait too long. There are further trips to tattoo parlors on my outline!

    My Lucky Day

LOL - Yep, the Elvis pancakes involve peanut butter and bananas but no deep frying. Autumn was definitely out of line and CJ's response was harsh but appropriate. Not a promising start to a relationship but we'll see what happens.

Snow can be a blast! I haven't seen any in a few years and I may have to head up north this coming winter (ours, not yours.) Last time I saw any was on the ground in Utah when I was on a motorcycle trip through Zion National Park. The sky was clear but there was plenty of the stuff on the ground and it was so cold I looked like a mummy strapped atop the bike!

I swear I was sober when I wrote this. At least I think I was. I screwed up the month and the year on Gamon's birth but it's now been fixed. Thanks, Jay! I really appreciate the heads up.

Thanks for catching the typo!!!! It's been corrected. As for Gamon, I'll tell Chatri to keep his son away from Brits at Easter time. The name is Thai and means 'from the heart'

Plenty of sadness all around us, all we have to do is watch the news. I include it and other nasty times when necessary but I want to focus on the positive aspects of life instead.I'd rather read something which shows me what could be right than what reminds me of what is wrong.

Hey! Bottom boys are some of my favorite people! The Chatri-Helen-Gamon arc was fun to write. Kitt helped me out a bit since I've never been pregnant myself. I figured CJ wouldn't beat around the bush with those two, after all, he was the best man t their wedding. Mellow evening with Chipper and Thiago playing and singing That's the first line on my outline for this chapter so if I was able to convey the feeling I accomplished my primary objective. The other one was the introduction of Gamon and Tank. Tank gave me the chance to play around with Ritchie. Can you imagine the kind of education/experience that kid's getting being surrounded by older men so much? He gets to hang out with the big dogs while his peers are probably playing video games or building Lego castles. Oh wait, that's what CJ does in his free time: Lego construction. Tank's a composite of several friends of mine. Muscleheads who work aas bar tenders or massage therapists. I figured I'd make him both. He'll be back on a regular basis.

@spikey582 <--- That's for your last line... You know I don't like to repeat myself and I'm trying to space the political stuff so you don't stop reading. I may even start hiding eggs or cliffies in them! You're right things will change once they graduate. Group gatherings will be harder to pull off and may be far and few between. Brad for one will be almost entirely out of the picture while he's on active duty. I've moved the story along from the Elite being center stage to most of the action revolving about the Squad. Along the way you may have noticed that multiple POVs have been almost entirely eliminated. The Pillow Talks between Cesar and Brett being the notable excemption (along with the opening scene of the next chapter.) The story's mostly told through CJ's eyes these days and that will intensify in the future. I'm not certain when the next book will post even though I have the first 4 chapters written. I want it entirely written and edited before I begin posting.) but in it, we'll be concentrating even more on CJ and to a large degree on Owen. I mean, since CJ used the L word already I think we're stuck with the Aussie. Interesting you bring up Patrick. I. can tell you this: I'll suggest you pay attention to the next chapter. CJ and Patrick spend some quality one-on-one time together.

Well, then. You should consider becoming an associate member of CJ's Squad! For the tremendously low price of $19.95 (plus shipping and handling) you'll receive a suitable-for-framing membership certificate signed by CJ. A laminated membership card, invitations to future political appearances, weekly e-mails outlining recent events and the opportunity to purchase tickets to private receptions where you may be able to meet CJ or some of the other members of the Squad. This is not a real offer. GA prohibits unauthorized solicitations and I for one follow the rules. Well, most of the time. Or when I think I can get away with breaking them. Any money collected by accident or failure to read the small print will be used to support the CJ Home for Wayward Muscle Bears.

I don't think Gamon will be getting a lot of air time! I'm trying to move the guys away from their teens and not about to start with nes ones LOL Tank on the other hand will be prominently featured in at least another chapter and be part of group gatherings. CJ befriended Chatri at the gym but because of the large age difference their relationship hasn't been as close. Harley and Thiago where his first friends at Walls while Chipper, Bradley, and Patrick came into the pictures because of their fathers and their relationship with the dads. With Ozzie now solidly part of the Squad, it makes sense some of his friends would join. First Ethan and now Tank. I may have one or two more boys to add to the group before I'm done
  22. I read that book and Faggots by Larry Kramer when I was your age. I think they came out a year apart and both centered around gay life in New York City. Both made a big impression on me and when I went to Fire Island for the first time ever it was like visiting a place I knew. Favorite book ever: Childhood's End by Sir Arthur C. Clarke. It was one of the options Georgetown gave for a reading assignment before the start of my freshman year. It began a love for Clarke's writing which is still going strong. I found it fascinating a Catholic school would include a book which exposed the foibles of religion and Christianity in particular. That's the Jesuits for you. They may have strong faith but they're not idiots and are willing to pursue knowledge wherever it takes them. It's one of the reasons the main character in one of my stories is now a freshman at Georgetown!

Thank you, sir! Limiting each chapter to the events of one month has been difficult at times but it's also forced me to move the characters along and show how they grow individually and as a group. Four chapters left before the Walls season finale before we go on hiatus! And I have a couple of surprises planned along the way.

Thanks, Dave. I wanted the chapters around the new year to be light hearted after the ones the previous year. We had to deal with death at the end of 2014 and I thought the guys deserved a break. Gamon Mookjai's the first child in the next generation. I keep trying to advance the story while dealing with every day events. New kid this chapter, another wedding next one. And hopefully I'm doing an adequate job showing what happens instead of just telling readers about it.

LOL- CJ's personality lends itself to people remembering him. Funny thing is he doesn't do anything special: he treats people the way he'd like to be treated himself and people remember kindness and often respond in kind.
