Wow, I didn't even realize it was Saturday night going onto Sunday morning in my here parts! But then again, for some reason I didn't realize we were in the last week of October too 😮 Halloween on Thursday, and then November on Friday, we are well on our way to wrapping up 2019 and into the 2020's
Before I get looking too far into the future, the meaning of the wrap up to do a visit of the past, so let's look what happened here the past week on the GA News Blog.
Monday, Cia brought us all the October Classic Feature:
On Tuesday, Renee was back to reveal all who the Author Guess Who subject was:
Then on Wednesday, Cia was back with the October Classic Excerpt:
On Thursday, Myr wrapped up the look back at the 2014 Scars! Anthology:
Friday was Wayne front and centre bringing everyone some prompts to get us into the mood of the 31st of October:
Then on Saturday, I want to mention Myr updated us all on the completion of stats on stories and moving onto chapter stats. He shared some interesting information on how these will work:
So that was a busy week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday oh my! Shall we also take a peek at how we did on reaching our goals in the past week?

Sorry folks, no weekly update this week. Carry on with your daily activities and God Save the Queen.

I couldn't do that to you all So here is a look at what happened over the past week!
Monday, it was CSR discussion day where Cia chatted with @northie
Then on Wednesday, it was the first one of the month and the blog was turned over to Carlos:
On Thursday, Myr started another month of looking at a past Anthology:
Finally, on Friday it was Wayne's turn to let loose with another couple of prompts for everyone:

    Weekly Wrap Up
Today is a day that I was not looking forward to

If you look at the little pictures at the top of this blog, you will see who has posted in this blog, and how many times, I have been dreading this day for about six months, maybe more. I told Renee that it would be hard to surpass Trebs and move ahead of him on this blog.
So who is Trebs? For those of you that have joined over the last five years here on GA, Trebs or Robert, was a Admin and on the board of CDEJR Services, he was the R. We lost Trebs to cancer just over 5 years ago. I wanted to pay tribute to a great man, and a friend that was there when I needed him, and was there for so many more in his life. He was the epitome of what we would expect to have in a friend. Loyal, caring, great listener, someone with sage advice and always fun to have in our lives as well. He, I believe was planning ahead for the inevitable when he asked me to come on as an admin from my previous role as a moderator. Although he never said it, he seemed to be giving me advice over the time from when I became an admin to his passing.
Sadly, we don't always get to say a proper goodbye to our friends. Although he choose to pass quietly, I fully respect his decision. I can't help but feel that Trebs was one of the cornerstones of our current GA community and he gave freely and enthusiastically to make GA what it is today.
Now as I post this blog, I shall go to 106 and pass my friend, but I know that he is happy that I'm still around and contributing to the site in my own ways much like the rest of the site from readers, to authors and poets, to staff and everyone in between. I can't help but admit that I am crying as I write this, just knowing that he will always be missed in my life but always will be just a memory away.
In case you want to see what he meant to so many, pop by this blog entry when he passed.
So shall we see what happened at the GA Blog this past week?
On Monday, a great story was featured by @Puppilull on @Mann Ramblings story Innocence and Carnality:
On Tuesday, Renee came back to let us all know about the final Anthology themes for 2020. 😮 oh my, that is only 3 months away!
Onto Thursday, where Myr wrapped up the month of September with the final installment of Anthologies for this round:
Friday was our usual day for Comicfan to drop in with a couple of new prompts. He did not disappoint again with two more:

    Weekly Wrap Up
    So am I normal?
Now before the usual peanut gallery jumps in with a resounding YES (or is that NO), let me explain.
Today, for a Saturday I was bored. I played on the computer, I cleaned the condo, I took the car for a wash, and still was bored. So I flicked on the TV and started going through the hundreds of channels and nothing really appealed to me. Next I turned on Prime Video, nope, nothing caught my fancy. Then it was over to Netflix. Well they are featuring a movie that I have never seen as I don't really care of horrors. Not for the usual reason though. So I decided to make a bowl of popcorn, grabbed a Diet Coke with Lime and sat down to watch the 1990 classic IT. Like most horror movies, I found it hilarious. I was giggling throughout at how they try to scare you with the surprises, the building of tension, the flashing lights and such. I mean, I know some people are afraid of clowns, but now I have to find out if I can get a Pennywise doll to cuddle with
I wonder what our IT fan @Wesley8890 thinks about the movie? What do you think about the movie? Have you seen the new movie?
That is another week of musings to start off the weekly wrap up
On Monday, Cia took on the week to make introductions to the Classic Signature Author for September:
Then to continue on Classic Signature week, Wednesday was the Excerpt day:
Onto Thursday, when we had the 3rd round of stories for this month's Anthology Flashback, and a reminder about the November 19th deadline for the upcoming ones:
Finally on Friday, even after eye surgery, our prompt guru Wayne brought us a couple of new prompts:

So how did we do last week on our story targets? Well let's take a look

Special shout out!!! Today at noon is the last day for Poets and Authors to get their votes in!

    Weekly Wrap Up
So I was thinking this week . Does that make everyone cringe?
Today when I wrote this up. it is the 14th, so just a reminder to you all that we are now 10 days from my birthday and tomorrow will be 3 months away from Christmas. Now I don't want all of you all to fret and worry over having to get me pressies for both celebrations in the next 3 months! I know you all were planning on spending at least $50 Canadian ($12.50 US) on each present, so why don't you combine the two and each of you can give me a $100 present for Christmas .
As I sometimes say in the my closing on requests... Thanking you in advance.
Well with the weight of not having to buy me something in 10 days hanging over your conscious, shall we see what happened in the GA News Blog this week?
Monday as I said in that blog, WOW. Our review team exceeded all of our expectations with a great Signature Author Special Review. Make sure you thank your friendly neighbourhood Review Team Member
Jump on over to Tuesday and Renee brought an announcement for poets and authors to help with the 2nd round of Anthology Voting:
Then is was a giant stride into Thursday, where Myr shared with us a new list of the September Anthology Flashbacks:
Finally on Friday, Wayne sashayed into the blog and gave us another two great prompts:
Oh, I bet you think I would go into the anouncements and stories as usual, but a certain pesky penguin spoke up and now as part of our regular weekly wrap up we will post how we did on the Story Goals the previous week. So here is how we did for 09/07 - 09/14/2019:

    Weekly Wrap Up
The first week of September has arrived and things are a changing! I've notice a bit of a uptick in the forums and stories and also feeling a change in the weather and length of days. I never understood how people who live closer to the equator have little to no deviation in the length of days. Just seems strange to me . Then the further you go south or north towards the poles, you get longer days/shorter nights and visa versa as the equinoxes are reached. But then again, it would be strange to have 24 hours of light, or dark . Currently here, the sun is fading out at around 7:30, but by the end of October, that will probably be 5:00 pm. So are any of you affected by SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)? I personally just want to curl up and sleep more as the days shorten. Maybe I really am a bear and just want to hibernate
So shall we take a look at our slightly busier week?
Monday, Cia lead off the month with a new CSR Feature. Did you check it out?
Then on Wednesday, Carols took a great approach and gave us a new and ever popular Ask An Author 2.0:
On Thursday, Myr revived the weekly posting of Anthology Thursday. Now like the way that the members asked the Anthologies to be spread out over the month, we will be doing the same with the features!
Friday, prompts galore were flowing Comicfan was back with a couple of new ones:

Make sure to check out these two new Anthology points, first and second one!!

    Weekly Wrap Up
I wonder if you are the same as me. Do you like being lied to on a consistent basis? I think not!!
So why do we plan our days according to the local weather person? All week up to and including last night and this morning, they said this Labour Day Long Weekend would be mainly sunny with a chance of brief showers on Monday. Fair enough. So this morning, I get up, shower, put on suntan lotion because the also said the UV Index was going to be high. Dress in shorts, t-shirt and sandals and off I go to my 3 nephews separate flag football games. I can't get any parking near, and with me in a temp prosthetic that hurts to walk in, I make the long trek to the bleachers. Well guess what? Half way though the first game, the skies open up, it is a downpour. Fair enough, it should be over quickly. No, for 4 freaking hours it is a downpour. Luckily I had two nephews to send to go find my car and dig our a rain coat and umbrella for me
But all in all, I really have no beef with the weather as I know somewhere in the world, this is just a minor problem to me and there are, or going to be, people that will be facing life threatening weather events themselves. So I shall suck it up and say my thoughts are for the rest of you that maybe are or will be in intimate danger
Now shall we look at what happened over the past week!
Sunday we had a special announcement to everyone in the Site Technology and Announcement Blog:
Monday was Cia's turn to bring us the CSR Discussion Day:

Wednesday,. Renee popped in to make an announcement to our Site Authors and Poets, to call their attention to the voting of Anthology Themes after the entire site came up with suggestions:
Fast forward to finally Friday, for Comicfan to fulfill our fetish for prompts

    Weekly Wrap Up
First off, I need to remind everyone that they have one month to go out and buy me my birthday present
Well we are about to head into the last month of the 'Summer Months' in North America. I know the southern states kids, teens and adults are back in skewl and the northern ones and Canada are about to head back in about a week. Not totally clear on how Europe works  Summer here is also a time where we slow down at GA. With College/University Students home for the summer and working or such, and people taking time off for some much deserved holidays, things do slow down a bit. So a general welcome back to everyone, and if you have found your way here for the first time, or as a guest, welcome to you too! For the southern hemisphere, I imagine everyone is itching to get to their summer now
Looking at the blog this week:
Cia on Monday brought us a new Classic Author Feature:

Wednesday was a great follow up with a Classic Author  Excerpt:

    Weekly Wrap Up
So I really have nothing to talk about this week in the Weekly Update preamble, so I thought I would throw out a joke and some useless trivia
Why did the chicken cross the playground?
Did you know that giraffes only need 5 to 30 minutes of sleep in a 24 hour period They often achieve that in quick naps that may last only a minute or two at a time!
Now, onto what happened around these parts this week!
Monday, Renee gave us a great story review from @Puppilull:
Wednesday was the last day to get in the 2020 Anthology Theme Selections, so Renee revisited the blog from a couple of weeks earlier:
On Friday, Wayne popped by to give some new ideas to get some new ideas flowing from our heads to paper:

    Weekly Wrap Up
    I had an idea today
I think we should start a swap your life club here at GA! Why you ask and how? Well, we all live in a area that seems to be effected by the weather right now around the world, so what if you could trade lives with another member that wants your weather for a bit. So @Slytherin for example says she is too cold in the wild north of Scandinavia and @Daddydavek says he is burning up in the Mid West of the US. Well, those two will swap places for a week or two But this means for everything! Daddy will have to go to work and perform LBO's occupation and in turn she will have to do all Daddy's yard work and such and chase around his grandson on a daily basis! So what do you think? It seems like weather is something that ties us all together, so why not . So let me know who you want to swap lives with for a bit.
Well enough of that great idea, but bad logistical one and move onto the wrap up.
Please also remember you have until August 14th to get your submission in for the 2020 Anthology Themes!!
Monday, Cia graced us with a new CSR Feature for the Month of August:
Then on Wednesday, Carlos dropped in with a great new Ask An Author 2.0:
Wednesday we also had a Announcement and Technology Blog that wasn't featured, but was still a good one to check out. Will explain that new widget we all see on the home page:

    Weekly Wrap Up
So no surprise this week. Hopefully you all have been keeping up to date with Shark Week
I have a lot of respect for all the parents out there, I just got back from 5 days of camping in the Rockies with my 3 nephews under the age of 12 with no power or internet or even cell phone coverage  Well now that I'm sure that some of you are digesting that horror of that last statement, shall we see what has happened while I was out playing with bears, mountain lions, and cougars (and 3 kids).
Monday, we started to wrap up the month of July with a Cia leading us in the CSR Discussion Day:
Wednesday, Renee let everyone know about the start of the 2020 Theme Selection. So this is your chance as Authors, Poets, Editors, Readers and more to choose next year's themes!

    Weekly Wrap Up
So I was down at the Stampede tonight to about 12:30 am  and I met this nice couple from Australia. I asked if they knew @Graeme, but surprisingly they did not   They decided to come over here for their winter and our summer  When I asked them where they were from, they said Wagga Wagga, NSW . I thought to myself, self, why does Australia have such funny names? Then I thought it my be Aboriginal names, and who am it to judge? Here in the Great White North, we have Moosejaw, and here's a tongue twister, Saskatoon Saskatchewan  so do you have any strange named towns/cities in your neck of the woods?
And onto the wrap up, after my strange musings...
Monday, Timothy M. did an excellent story review to hopefully get us to check out another great story here at GA:
Wednesday, Cia popped in to solicit feedback from you, the members. If you haven't seen what she is looking for, pop back into the blog:

Enjoy not only this great review by Timothy M, but also on the story Between the Tension by @Hudson Bartholomew
    Between the Tension
    Hudson Bartholomew
    Reviewer: Timothy M.
    Status: Complete
    Word Count: 100,760
The first story of this two-book series contains some of the best erotic scenes I’ve had the pleasure of reading on GA. Maybe that’s not surprising when the two main characters make money by doing porn. But the story also has a beautiful sad romance between an outgoing, self-confident, and charming guy and an introvert, vulnerable young man. So get those tissues ready, because you may need them several times, one way    or the other  .
In the second story, their roles are kind of reversed. Shy, sensitive Ryan is now the stronger person, who has worked out how he wants to spend his life, and what his goals are. The once self-assured Erik chasing success in New York shows a more vulnerable side, as well as the wounds caused by his religious family shunning him for being gay. Their feelings for each other are strong, but the odds are stacked against them. Hudson kept saying there would be a happy ending, but I don’t think readers quite believed it, and the author did put us through the wringer first.
The whole story is well-written, has interesting insights about the psychological impact of doing porn and blindly pursuing your ambitions, and there are plenty of tender moments, tension, and chemistry between the lovers. The female side characters (Ryan’s friend and sister) are true to life, in their annoying but caring nosiness and interference. The sex scenes serve a purpose in the story development, as well as being smoking hot.   Make sure you have the time to finish, because once you start reading, I guarantee you’ll keeping going till the end of this captivating tale.

    Weekly Wrap Up
There is a lot to be said about being regular. Especially when you reach the age of 50, being regular is just more comfortable way of life
So what the heck am i talking about ? Well this week here at the GA Blog, we had a regular week  M-W-F posting of the ole standbys. I am not saying that a variety of new items and mixing things up is a bad thing, far from it. Change is the necessity of life. So it is always nice to be regular again
On Monday, Cia presented us with a new CSR Feature:
On Wednesday, Carlos was back to celebrate the turning of 21 of the AAA 2.0 #21. Also, if you have any questions for some authors, make sure you send them in to @Carlos Hazday
I'll sneak in that on Thursday, we had an announcement from Myr on the Tech Tuesday blog   (technically not a Tuesday only blog  ).
On Friday, our good friend Comicfan was back again with some great prompts to inspire you.
Well when this goes live i will probably be down at the Calgary Stampede and today is Pride Day there, so I might be a bit distracted   But please, I am in need of Story recommendations from you on any completed story that you'd like to give a shout out to! Does anyone know a gay cowboy one or two, hint, hint.

Well this turned out to be a very interesting week here at the GA News Blog. It wasn't planned this way, but it just worked out that 3 of the 4 entries were like the 4 of the planets lining up with the sun. In this case, the sun is Tim aka @Mikiesboy
Monday, Renee shared with us a great review written up by @Cole Matthews:
Then, this is where things started to fall in place! Tuesday, Graeme announced our newest Signature Author, @Mikiesboy:
Jump ahead a couple of days, and Renee was back with another round of the Spring Anthology. 4  new stories and links to get to the previous 2 announced releases!
So I said 3 of 4 entries this week, well what is the 3rd involving Tim? By total coincidence the list I'm using had the below Reader Recommended Story. Any one want to hazard a guess before scrolling down who's story was recommended?

    Weekly Wrap Up
We are now a week into the month of June, and a lot of places around the world celebrate Pride in June. How about your neck of the woods? My city actually does Pride the first weekend of September, but I don't know why . I've heard some chatter around the site about good, and unfortunately some bad, already happening. Tell us all about the good!
Did it seem like a short week in the blogs? That's because there were no anthologies posted this week due to Renee ending up hospitalized Thursday morning to have her appendix out. She assures me that barring any complications anthologies will resume this coming week.
Oh, I'm also going to put out a request for all members to PM me some of your story suggestions to feature in the weekly update. Some of you might be shy, but I'd really like to hear from you! Just needs to be a complete story or serial that you would like to give a shout out to everyone as a good story to read.
Let's jump now into the wrap up.
Monday was a new CSR feature for the month of June:

Wednesday, Carlos took over the blog for an extended period of time for the ever popular AAA:
Finally wrapping up the week was Comsie with an GA Article on Moments:

Is it Monday yet? I'm on holidays and had a nice sleep in, which means a delay in getting this great review up! My apologies.

    Finding Refuge

Do you like a good cowboy story? Whether you do or not, I’m willing to bet you’ll enjoy this tale about two cowboys who’re in dire need of refuge. One is being hunted and has lost his best friend to the evil men following him. He and his trusted horse are on their last legs, thirsty and tired, when the story begins.
It’s difficult to describe the content without spoiling the delightful twist and turns, which are a wonderful part of the joy Gary’s short story gave me. But I think no one will be surprised to learn that, in true Headstall style, the heroes are decent, honest, gorgeous guys, who long for that one special person in their lives. Someone to trust, to love, and to share the dream of a home and a life filled with hard work, laughter and –ahem– hot man sex.   Not that there is any of the latter in this story.

Maybe I’ll just share some of the enthusiastic comments from readers and let you discover the rest for yourself.
@Coastguard: I absolutely LOVE the way you write. I've always enjoyed cowboy stories, and this one was exceptionally well written!
@Zeke Pine: Sir, this story holds much potential. Should you decide to add to it, I will not miss a chapter.
@ColumbusGuy: Okay, I won't say I'm a fan of Westerns now, but you brought me durn close, I reckon.
@LitLover: Your approach to a traditional cowboy story was interesting and engaging, drawing me in from the first line.
@Albert1434: The whole time I read this I could hear the music from the Good the Bad and the Ugly playing in the back ground.
