    Weekly Wrap Up
So what is new in your neck of the woods?
Well I know that the news is something we are watching closely or avoiding due to the nature of it. When I log into GA, I think of all our members in all the different hot zones and hope that all of you are safe, if you in there or anywhere else . I was noticing over the past week that a few pop up topics have arisen in the Lounge to lighten the mood. Maybe pop into the hilarious topic, Make Us Laugh #2. Or you could go old school and check out where it all started with @jamessavik kicking it off with Make us Laugh, but be warned some of the pics have disappeared or hard to see behind watermarks.
Or do you want to get something of your chest? You joys, fears, happiness, frustrations or whatever is on your mind. Why not post a personal blog. I know for sure that you will find people that can relate to you, and it is also cathrtic to just get stuff off of our chests . In case you don't know how to post a blog, check out this help topic that was created by Renee.
Lastly, for those of you that work in healthcare, work in grocery stores or any of the other essential services that we are so dependent on during these times, we appreciate what you do and the risks you are taking to ensure we are as safe and can stay safe as possible .
Now what did the staff get up to this week on the Staff Blog?
On Monday, Renee featured a great Review Team Featured Story by @Parker Owens on a short but great story!
Then on Wednesday, Renee was back with another timely reminder of the upcoming Anthology deadline coming up. I was impressed some have their entry(ies) in all ready

Then on Friday, reliable Wayne, aka comicfan was back with a couple of new prompts for you.
I thought we would look at the reading Stats! There is a lot of you reading and commenting which is great!! If I were an author I might put up a new story as there is a captive audience waiting for you

Shall we see what caught the Review Team's eye this month?
    Nothin' Town
    Sasha Distan
    Reviewer: Timothy M.

    Word Count: 5,619
Sasha Distan's American Songbook series takes place in rural USA, featuring cowboys, farm hands, rodeo enthusiasts and al the other kinds of people who populate the countryside and the small towns. There are two longer stories, which were very popular with readers, but the rest of the series are short stories showing a small slice of rural life.
Nothin' Town is one of those, and in this story we get to experience a Georgia setting via the eyes of a disgruntled teen. His parents have given up city life, partly because their sixteen-year-old son was brought home by police for being drunk and disorderly. Since Liam is gay, maybe it's a bit surprising they made the decision to move to 'the notoriously conservative South' as Israfil said in a comment.
However, this issue doesn't play a part in Liam's choice of keeping his head down in the local high school, or giving off 'unapproachable' vibes to his peers. He is simply too focused on missing his old life and friends in Boston, and being bored and full of self-pity. But he finally pulls himself together and begins to open up, partly because one guy makes an effort to be friendly. He invites Liam to visit the horse ranch of his family and introduces him to his group of friends. Of course, Liam realizes the futility of crushing on handsome-but-straight guys, but at least he feels less lonely.
There is a sweet little twist in the tale at the end, which had most readers asking for a sequel, including me. On the other hand, I have to admit the story works well the way it is. Why don't you check it out and see what you think?

    Weekly Wrap Up
    Huh!
I was snuggled into bed with the music of Rent going on in my head (guess what I partially watched tonight ) when I said to myself, 'Self, did you do the weekly update tonight?' Needless to say I had not. So here I am well past my bedtime and thinking if there is anything for a preamble. Since I'm in shut down mode already, I guess not. I don't even have a knock knock joke for you all  So why don't we jump into the wrap up right away!
Monday, Cia was out with a new Classic Author Feature for the month.

Tuesday was the big reveal on the new family favourite guessing game, Author Guess Who!

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well happy February all! I'm in another great mood tonight  So please just humour me for a bit.
See, my hockey team got their butts handed to them on the scoreboard tonight  As most of you know, I live in Calgary and our arch rivals are in the other major city in Alberta, Edmonton. So back in the 80's and 90's, the two teams had games that were legendary for everything good, and some bad, in hockey. After 20 years, both teams are both relevant again to each others and the game tonight was a classic, as were the other 3 prior games this year. Yes, Calgary lost, but both teams preformed 110% in all the aspects of the game except Edmonton had the advantage in putting it in the net. I'm sure the majority of people could care less about ice hockey , but it has me literally giddy
Okay, if I haven't lost 99% of the members here, shall we look at the what actually happened at GA this week
Monday, Cia was around to bring us the January CSR Discussion Day
Wednesday, well would you look at this, I did a blog on Politics and GA
Thursday, Renee brought us some great and exciting changes about the upcoming Spring Anthologies
Friday was all comicfan, as he brought some prompts to get you in the mood 💓

    Weekly Wrap Up
Ho Hum So is there such a thing as the February Blahs? I mean, the shortest month of the year is going to be one day longer this year and it just means another day of meh. Sorry if your birthday is in February, I'm not calling you boring or anything of the such . Maybe it is because the anxiousness of waiting for spring to be sprung for the Northern Hemisphere. Like some things are better, I'm not going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark, so the Earth is tilting itself in an attempt to appease me . Maybe I'm blah because I heard that March is the snowiest month in my neck of the woods
So, are you suffering for the February blues? What are you doing to combat them? How about those in the Southern Hemisphere peeps, are you having blues knowing your autumn is coming and your summer is coming to an end?
Well something that should put you in a good mood is the GA Weekly Blogs. So shall we see what mood lifting things happened this week?
On Monday, Cia brought us another Classic Author Feature. This month it was @Andrew Q Gordon. (I've met him )
Then on Tuesday, Renee put the entire community out of their suspense and revealed the last Author Guess Who, @Brayon. (I've not met him )
Wednesday, Cia was back with the Classic Feature Excerpt (did I mention I met him )
Finally on Friday, a guy I've never met, comicfan had our weekly prompts:
And did you check out the words of the day this week? Did you try to use them all in one sentence ?

    Weekly Wrap Up
So, what is new in your neck of the woods?
I'm sure that you all have some stories, some frustrations, some concerns, some fears and and lots of other things on your mind. With the pandemic in full swing in basically the whole world now, it has to be affecting everyone in at least a small way. My heart goes out to those that can't work, or are laid off, and don't have some kind of social safety net to lessen the blow somewhat. Lets hope that this blog finds you all safe and sound and taking care of yourself and those that you love and care for are doing the same.
Usually I try to add some jocularity (maybe a word of the day for @Myr) but not really feeling it today.
Last night I called my dad up, as my sister was on her way over to the seniors lodge my dad resides in. He was not opening the door for homecare when they arrived and when they got the door opened, he was only wearing a towel and shaking uncontrollably. She got him dressed but he wasn't making too much sense. When I called she was still there, but had to take off but was concerned with my dad. She put me on the phone and I asked dad why he didn't open the door. He replied that he was stuck in the bathtub (he doesn't have a bathtub) and the Edmonton Oiler got slashed by the damn American and all hell has broken out on the ice. I'm sure everyone  knows there  is no hockey going on, but in addition my dad absolutely hates the Oilers . I knew right away that he is being affected by a infection and suffering from delirium. I told him that I'd call him back and immediately call 9-1-1. I told them what was going on and they immediately dispatched the fire department and an ambulance.
He wouldn't answer the phone again and my sister arrived shortly after the paramedics and firemen did. So they were concerned with the his mental state, when they asked him when he was born, he felt 1759 was correct 😮 They thought he was suffering from a urinary track infection, which he has had in the past, but didn't really want to take him to the hospital with the Covid concerns. Well, they did detect something just not right with his breathing too.
So where is this story going? After arriving at the hospital they tested everything on him and he did have the UTI, which is being treated. But they still don't know about the lungs. He has now be tested for Covid-19 and is in complete isolation in the hospital for at least the next 2-3 days awaiting the results. Sadly, no one is allowed to visit. My sister that went over has sons aged 8,11, and 13, and older sister has a bit of a cold and I am considered immunity compromised since I've had diabetes since I was 4 . So we are all hoping it is the UTI, and that he doesn't have Covid-19, as he is not in the best condition to fight infections, bacterial or viral.
Long story short, take care of your loved ones and let them know that you love them, as with this pandemic, you don't know what will happen tomorrow. And whatever you do, please take this as serious as you possibly can. Follow the best directions out there, once again maybe defer to the World Health Organization, and be safe
I have to admit, I've escaped from real life by coming here and enjoying pictures of @Valkyrie's hash brownies, @Renee Stevens' strange dreams, and @clochette's return to infancy All have been great comic relief and making me feel better about things. I've also been reading @Tiff's story that was featured on Monday and Wednesday on the blog   So for everyone contributing, on behalf of myself and all the staff, thank you .
Now as mentioned, Cia had a new Classic Feature on Monday:
Wednesday, Cia was back with the Classic Feature Excerpt:

    Weekly Wrap Up
So, what is new in your neck of the woods ?
I guess we all are being impacted no matter where we are in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking at the status updates on site, many if not all of you have had some disruption of our normal day to day lives. I did a search, and ended up in Wikipedia, and according to them (not to be construed as 100% factual) that the last pandemic that rolled across our planet was the HIV AIDS one, and one we are living with, and IMHO, started to win finally in a lot of countries in the world.
On behalf of all the site staff and all of your fellow members, we wish you all a safe journey as we continue to travel through the unknown. Please, if you have questions your first resource should be the World Health Organization's website, www.who.int . Seriously, I would take it from them before listening to non experts giving nothing more than their opinion. Be it your neighbour, a family member, a politician, or a news anchor. Educate yourself and don't think of yourself as a subject expert based on hearsay from others. Heck, I would disregard what I say .  Trust the W.H.O for your most fact based information.
Now as far as GA goes, we are hoping that we can provide some great relief from what is happening and allowing you a place to come to escape the daily news, or the latest panic. We have 5079 stories and being added to every day. We have a vibrant community that can discuss some of these stories, or other topics in the right areas of the site. We have blogs from not only the staff, but our members too! There is so much and we will continue to give you new content each week, especially with the GA Blogs. Let's see what happened this week!
Monday, @Timothy M. and the Review Team took over the blog and gave us another Featured Story:
On Wednesday, Renee brought us a Signature Feature on one of the most read Authors on site:
Friday, Wayne came with his brand of prompts for St. Patrick's Day:

I hope everybody is going to have a great Leap Year Day! If you were born on the 29th, I have to say in all honesty, you're looking old for your age
    Wait!!! What???
Oh, I've been just informed I'm an idiot and Leap Year Day was yesterday   Looks like I will have to wait another 4 years to get the day right!
Huh, so I'm wrong again, go figure. To have a Leap Year Day fall on a Sunday I'll have to wait until Feb 28th, 2032 😢 Oh well, what is 12 years among friends
So what went on at the GA Blog this week you ask?
Monday was our CSR Discussion Day. Cia had a great conversation with Richie Tennyson!
Then on Friday, Wayne, aka comicfan, was by with a couple of new prompts!
Did you check out each word of the day? What I would like to see is if you can formulate a sentence with all the words this week Factotum, Devious, Salubrious, Tramontane, Sanguineus, Fruition and Trek. If you don't know what they mean, check them out here!

So what is Steve doing writing a blog outside of the Weekly Wrap Up?
Well, once every four years something happens that affects our site in an unusual way. It overtakes a lot of the US of A as well as the rest of the world. What am I talking about? The US Presidential and Term Elections is what.
Now before you hit the report button and report me for talking about politics outside the Pit, please read on.
As many of our long-term members know, and I imagine new ones as well, politics can be very divisive and polarizing to everyone on our site and in some of our lives. They also can be a joining of ideas and learning how others see things opposed to our own views.
Outside of the US you may feel what does this have to do with the day-to-day running of GA? The reason for this blog is that unfortunately in US Presidential Election years, the negative side of politics can rear its ugly head and the few can ruin things for the majority. We, unfortunately, have lost long-term and new members over their ambitions to make GA politicized with their ideas and how they posted them. Sometimes members don't have ambitions, but they can also get swept up in the environment and don’t know where or how it is best to express those ideas.
The site’s wish is to have everyone here today and here next year at this time, and hopefully that no one leaves the site due to something political said on the site by someone else or themselves. We've tried different approaches over the years, from the wild west of the early years where anything went, to absolutely nothing on the site anywhere about politics at any time.
I want to particularly acknowledge all the people who participated in debate of the recent Brexit and UK elections. These participants have kept discussion to the Pit and been respectful of the people and took issue with only the opinions. I do not believe the Site Moderation Team (SMT), had to review any issues of this political hot potato in Europe. This goes out to all our members, UK and elsewhere.
I thought I would highlight for everyone the political pit falls that could lead to you having an interaction with the SMT.
    ·         Politics are only allowed in the Pit or in personal blogs. ·         Status updates on politics are not allowed, nor status updates to visit a blog with some reference of the topic of the blog. ·         When engaging others in the Pit or a blog, you must address the issues brought up, not the person bringing it up. Doing so will be considered a personal attack. If you so choose to join the Pit, it is a closed club and when your request to join is approved I strongly suggest you read Myr’s pinned topic: The Pit Rules. This will give you guidance to how to positively engage in this area where politics are okay.
The SMT will monitor the Pit, and we do have some members who actively participate in there. We will investigate if someone reports someone else for a personal attack, but if we investigate and find someone made a false accusation, we will also suspend the reporter from accessing the Pit. In other words, don’t report someone just because you don’t like their view.
The SMT is monitoring around the site for Political Content, and we also rely heavily on members to report political posts outside the Pit or blogs. Your anonymity will be kept private and only the SMT will be aware of your report. The biggest suggestion here is to hit the Report button at the top of every single post on the boards if you find one with political content, rather then hit the reply button to call out the original poster. Usually hitting the reply button will bring yourself into the review by the SMT.
As mentioned earlier, some may have received a verbal warning in the past for political content, but as we ramp up toward November, we will in most cases have to take a stronger stance in warnings. Whereas a verbal warning is 5 points for 3 days or until they expire, we will be using the warnings for Political Content outside the Pit or Blogs as well as the Abusive Behaviour for personal attacks. These are progressive warnings that get more severe with the number of instances and/or severity of the offense. Sometimes these are just points but as the severity or repetition of warnings increases, it could include site suspensions even up to a site ban.
Just so everyone knows, just like all the membership here, we do have different political leanings on the SMT especially as the team is global. At times, I wonder if we should have a Pit for the SMT discussions  What I’m trying to say is that we do address all reports or findings and we talk as a group. Seldom does anyone dig in for their political beliefs, and we can usually come to a mutually agreed upon plan of action. If you feel that the SMT has left or right leaning people only, I can assure you that isn’t the case. All of us are middle of the road when it comes to politics and can put that aside when looking at the issue. To be honest, I’m proud of our team and how we address politics on the site.
All of us, as in the whole site, would like to see less of the SMT having to deal with issues that can be avoided as the year progresses. That is entirely up to you though.
If we can go through the next year or so like we have with the current UK issues, then the SMT can sit back and do what we enjoy so much, reading, interacting and enjoying everyone here on all of our site.

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well the Great White North is living up to it's name this week. Snow hurricanes in St John's, and in Atlantic Canada. Huge amounts of snow have fallen in central parts and the the Prairies have been gripped all week in -40 weather. Even the nice green lower mainland of BC is covered in snow and the travel is not recommended. Still, Australia is burning in some areas and other areas next door are flooding.
Okay, the localized weather forecast is completed and I really should get to wrapping this week up  Maybe I should talk about letting me be the GA Weather Person. He'll have to invest in a green screen for me to stand in front of.
On Monday, Renee brought us a new feature, a Signature Feature
Then on Wednesday, Renee was back with a feature on letting us know about the upcoming Spring Anthology
Friday, comicfan was back again with a couple of more prompts. 808 and 809 in fact.
Did you check out some of the words of the day this past week?

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well I'm in a good mood I just finished watching a hockey game that came out the right way   I don't know about you, but do you come to GA for a mood change? What am I talking about? Well this week has had me thinking about a lot of things, Australia burning, Eastern North America in tornadoes, rain and freezing rain. The Royal family in turmoil (okay, so I like the Royal Family, shoot me ). A passenger plane accidentally being shot down in Iran and 100's of lives lost. With that all going on, I think about it but I also make a point of coming to GA to check in on some positive engagement week after week. Stories, Blogs, Status Updates, Clubs, and so much more. So do you come to GA to escape some of the real life that we all deal with day to day?
Speaking of blogs, on Monday, Cia had the first CSR Feature of the year.
Wednesday, Renee got our Sherlock Holmes caps and pipes brought out for  the Author Guess Who. Who do you think it is?
Friday Wayne was back with a couple of new prompts to get you writing.
Saturday, Myr featured a blog about where GA is heading in 2020:
And don't forget to check out the Words of the Day from the week. How would you feel if someone called you a farceur ?

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well Carlos said it first. Wayne said it second. So I'm going to say it as well Happy New Year to each and everyone of you from all the staff here at GA!!! We look forward to the upcoming year to see where our little corner of the internet will grow and expand with everyone here along for the ride! I think one of the main New Year's resolution this year was not to make any resolutions at all. And that is the best idea I've heard in years
Cia wandered in on Monday in her flowing cloaks, carrying a scythe and wearing a fake beard (sure, you try telling her she grew a beard ) doing her best impression of Mother Time wearing a 2019 sash.
Then on Wednesday, bright and early, we had Carlos wander in wearing nothing but a diaper and a sash reading '2020' Pictures can be bought at the GA Gift shop for $5.99 + tax

Finally on Friday, Wayne returned after a months hiatus and brought back the much beloved prompts.
I thought I would do a shout out to Myr as well. He is doing a daily blog to give us the word of the day. We've had Nascent, Skullduggery, Malinger and Mollycoddle so far. Check in daily to see what is next.
So how did we do last week on our goals? Well, we definitely did better than Christmas week

    Catfishing
I’m sure you have heard of it, and I’m sure you know what it is, but here is the definition that I found on the word:
    INFORMAL•US
lure (someone) into a relationship by means of a fictional online persona.
"he was being catfished by a cruel prankster"
Being that we are an online community we are always prime for catfishers to join and then lure possible members to lie to.
We do have members who come and for their own personal sense of safety, may become Fred instead of their real name of George. We have members who say they live in Georgia, when they really live in Mexico. These are not in our opinion catfishers. They are just members who want to protect their identity and participate on the site.
What catfishing is when someone joins the site under the two above false pretenses and then start to befriend multiple people. As their friend base increases, so does the drama they create about themselves, looking for sympathy and sometimes resorting to attacking other members who question their lies.
We have had numerous people die on-site, and it was all calculated by the catfisher as one final gasp for attention. Yet they are signed up again to see the tributes and discussion about them. This and other cases of baiting members is a major cause of site disruptions and a major part of using staff resources.
So how does the SMT handle these? First off, like above we just ignore the little things that are obviously for personal security. I'm comfortable with my first name and location known, but some are not. Usually the SMT will be alerted to catfishers by our perusal of the topics and forums. Then as a group we start to look at their activity and such. Most catfishers do get a warning that only they and site staff are aware of. In a lot of cases this is the end of it as they are aware they are being watched for creating site drama. Many times they quietly fade away.
Some, however, don’t get the message and will double down on the drama, spinning more elaborate issues regarding health, friends, family, etc. Most will receive a second warning on this.
Eventually, though, warnings just don’t get the message across. When catfishers start to take actions against the site staff for just letting them know that we are onto their lies and continue to pile more drama on the site, it is time to bid them adieu.
This can and does have consequential effects on all our members. Posts and other content disappear and reputation from likes and such disappear too. This may have happened to your account in the past or more recently. It is not a bug and we can't prevent or reverse the points, unfortunately.
On a personal note, I am a skeptic by heart on a lot of things. I’m always warning my dad and other seniors I know about current scams (no, not forwarding 100s of emails though ). I usually think I’m a pretty good judge of when something is too good to be true or too unbelievable to believe. Sadly, I have been caught up by catfishers on our site as well ☹ . It can happen to everyone.
I’m not saying be a skeptic of everyone and everything, or you would never leave your house or participate here. Just be aware that there are catfishers out there, and that our SMT will try every possible means to minimize the site drama they create until there is only the one option left.

    Weekly Wrap Up
Anyone who doesn't celebrate the Christmas season, unfortunately is going have tolerate us that do for the next 3 weeks 🎅
We had our department Christmas Party at work yesterday and there was about 30 of us all out for a late lunch and a Secret Santa draw. Everyone had a person they were supposed to buy for with a $20 limit. Our department is maybe 60/40 female to male, but it was great to see that everyone put in an effort to get something that reflected the person that they bought for. Big, small, even strangely wrapped presents for all. That was until an envelope was placed in front of me. Opening it, I found a $20 gift card for a coffee shop. So, my secret Santa stopped to get his morning coffee and bought a gift card too. Nice you say I had to laugh my ass off. I don't like coffee, I don't like tea, I don't like hot chocolate I'm guessing it was a man, because really, would a person of the superior sex do that? I'm grateful I got a present, but I have donated to a charity family we are sponsoring as I'm sure it will be used and enjoyed.
So before I get stoned for my opinion of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, let me get to the wrap up (Diet Coke with Lime for the win)
Monday, Cia came to share with us a new CSR Feature for the month of December.
Tuesday, we had a big announcement. I know a lot of people have watched this person grow and participate a lot on our site. They were prompted to Signature.
Then, said person who put out a plea to everyone and took the life saving measure of preforming mouth to mouth to AAA, revived it for another month, or two.
Finally on Thursday, we had our 2nd release of the Fall Anthology.
This week we were soooooo close to having a blue Friday. I really need to step up on my personal reviewing to contribute to all the great work everyone is doing!

    Weekly Wrap Up
It looks like this will be the last weekly update before Christmas 🎅. So what constitutes a white Christmas you ask? In Canada it is 2 cm (.79 inch) of snow on the ground at 7 AM on Christmas Day, the US is 2.5 cm (1 inch) and the UK it is one snowflake observed falling anywhere in the UK . Obviously there is parts of the world that won't see or ever see a white Christmas, mainly most areas of the Southern Hemisphere. I'm also thinking about our friends in Australia that are fighting sever fires across a lot of New South Wales  .
No matter if it is a white Christmas or not in your neck of the woods, on behalf of myself and all the staff here at GA, we wish you in the spirit of season, a Very Merry Christmas!! Even if you don't celebrate know that this means we are wishing you well and hope that you get the opportunity to have some great times between now and the New Year with family, friends, and everyone that makes our lives so rich every day of the year.
Now question for you all, are you expecting a white Christmas? Me, the forecast is up in the air. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow, but we've had rain and fog the past two days. Yet an hour West, they are in the midst of getting 1 m (39.37 inches) in 24 hours 😮
So onto the blog this week, shall we?
Monday, Cia brought us the December Classic Author Feature.
Wednesday Cia was back again with the Classic Author Feature Excerpt.
Thursday saw Renee wrapping up the fall Anthology, and not too early, as Saturday is the last day of fall in the North, beginning of the summer in the South.
Myr then popped in on Friday with some holiday joy in his year in review for everyone here at GA! I'm so proud to be a part of the world's premier gay literature site which is really made by all of you. Poets, Authors, Editors, Beta Readers, and all the Readers are what make it what it is .
So, how did we do on the goals on this week before the holidays?

    Weekly Wrap Up
It appears that the holiday season is starting to wind down. So if you celebrated exchanging gifts, what did you get that made you the most happy? Myself, I got a PS4. Now I'm not an avid gamer at all, but I leaned towards the PS4 as I believe @Myr has an Xbox, and if I got one he would be CONSTANTLY bugging me to play with him in Dora the Explorer, Special Adventures
So what did you actually get? I'm curious
Before I forget, I want to wish everyone, your family and friends all the very very best in the New Year!!
Shall we move on to the blog this week?
On Monday, we got the final Featured Story from our amazing review Team for the year. This one from @Timothy M.
On Tuesday, enquiringly minds were wondering who the subject of our last Author Guess Who was. All was revealed
Thursday was to wrap up all the amazing stories that were submitted to the Fall Anthologies.
Looking at our goals last week, we took it easy with the holidays

    Weekly Wrap Up
Like in Independence Day....Hello Boys! I'm baaaaaaaack
Well, also you gurls, actually everyone! Thank you Renee for taking my place last week
So I'm dried out from last weekend, which is a good thing! Last weekend I was at a football game, outdoors and it was hovering around 0C or 32F. Quite pleasant football weather (oh, North American Football I should say). Now this weekend, -30C or -22F, and I'm not enjoying this weather 😠 I'm thinking of all of you in Florida, or Australia or elsewhere sunny and tropical (not LA this weekend 🥶). So without any further chit chat, lets get to the wrap up so I can crawl back into my warm bed, fire up the iPad and get down to some serious reading!
Monday it was time to have our CSR Discussion Day for the month of November:
Onto Wednesday and we had the reveal of the mystery person in the Author Guess Who:
Thursday my Christmas wish came true when Myr sneaked in and let us know about the new Reading History. I've been asking for this for decades! Okay, that may be a bit of a lie . But I know a lot have been asking for this and now it is a reality
Then there was the really, really, really big news, something to get excited about here at GA! The first round of stories were released for the Fall Anthology.
With all the great stories posted and updated this past week, this surely meant that we must have done gooder on our goals  We were so close to having a Blue Friday on Black Friday:

    Weekly Wrap Up
Not really much of a preamble out of me tonight. I will give everyone a heads up that Renee will be returning next week to do the Weekly Wrap up for me, as I know for a fact that I will be indisposed one week from tonight 🍻 🍹 🍷  So be gentle to with her, and especially you, @Valkyrie, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all. That should apply to you regarding me but for some reason I know it will be a freezing cold day in hell when that happens
On Monday, Cia popped in with a Featured Story:
Then Tuesday, Renee came by with what is turning into a popular blog, Author Guess Who:
On Thursday, Myr was bringing us all the 2nd of the 3 installments of a past Anthology :
Also on Thursday, Myr told us about the Story Archive update and a really neat new feature:
On Friday, Wayne was by with some new prompts for you to run away with:
Now for our weekly check in on how we did on our goals last week. And you all did a pretty darn good job I must say!

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well I look outside and it is yet snowing again! This is the 3rd time it has snowed this week, but this time it is actually going to get cold. You all can think of me as I go to the Western Semi Final of the Canadian Football League between my Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! Will still be snowing tomorrow at game time and with the windchill it will be a balmy -22 C (7.6F). Add in fact that it is getting dark out at 4:50 PM now, it should be a great day!!! I think I shall imbibe in some internal antifreeze starting tonight.
Now onto one final, last chance, no more after this, announcement from me on the 2019 Fall Anthology (well maybe one more down below):
Friday, November 15th is your last chance to get your Anthology Entries into the Proof Reading Team
So what else happened this week?
Monday, Cia brought us the November CSR Feature story:
Then on Wednesday, Carlos maybe gave us the final installment of the Ask An Author 2.0
On Thursday, Myr came by to start a new round of stories from a past Anthology:
Then the week came to a close at the GA News Blog with Wayne, aka @comicfan, giving us some US Thanksgiving prompts:
Funny you should ask, I was just thinking to myself, how did we do on our goals last week?

**Please note that you have less than 1 week to get your anthology entries in **

    Weekly Wrap Up
Every week we have different blogs featured here on the GA News Blog. For the past month and a half, Thursdays have been used to feature a past Anthology or Contest with new stories from that feature spread out over a month. This blog is done by the omnipotent one, the big kahuna, the big cheese, the master of all, the seerer of all things GA, aka @Myr
Well I didn't happened to notice this past Thursday that Myr's anthology blog wasn't featured on Thursday 😮 and not until Thursday night. Then on Friday I featured @comicfan's previous weeks Prompt Blog instead of this weeks So I thought I would get ahead of all the other Admins
    Resume for Steve Wildone
Looking for work as an online community Admin. I am a 51 year old, washed up, and over the hill former Admin at a large gay writing site. Assets I believe I have are a great sense of humour and more than a 100 Chicken Crossing the Road jokes that I'm willing to share. Areas to work on include spelling, punctuation and grammer, even though I worked at a writing site. I tend to be forgetful of late. I have over 100 Chicken Crossing the Road jokes that I'm willing to share. Looking for at least 3 times my compensation at my previous site. References and more information available upon request.
So shall I do my last wrap up?
Monday, Cia held a CSR Discussion:
And on the eve of Halloween, Cia was back with a list of Scary Short Stories!
Then on Thursday, it actually did happen, Myr looked back at a Halloween Contest from 2017:
On Friday, we finally got the right Prompts posted
We had a great week at meeting our goals this past week! Surpassed all but 1 and we just barely missed that one.
