    Weekly Wrap Up
There is a lot to be said about being regular. Especially when you reach the age of 50, being regular is just more comfortable way of life
So what the heck am i talking about ? Well this week here at the GA Blog, we had a regular week  M-W-F posting of the ole standbys. I am not saying that a variety of new items and mixing things up is a bad thing, far from it. Change is the necessity of life. So it is always nice to be regular again
On Monday, Cia presented us with a new CSR Feature:
On Wednesday, Carlos was back to celebrate the turning of 21 of the AAA 2.0 #21. Also, if you have any questions for some authors, make sure you send them in to @Carlos Hazday
I'll sneak in that on Thursday, we had an announcement from Myr on the Tech Tuesday blog   (technically not a Tuesday only blog  ).
On Friday, our good friend Comicfan was back again with some great prompts to inspire you.
Well when this goes live i will probably be down at the Calgary Stampede and today is Pride Day there, so I might be a bit distracted   But please, I am in need of Story recommendations from you on any completed story that you'd like to give a shout out to! Does anyone know a gay cowboy one or two, hint, hint.

    Weekly Wrap Up
I've had enough rain in the past week to float an ark, or at least consider to build one So If did build my ark, who should I bring two of? Who would you bring on it if you could choose anyone? After all this is an open invitation to all of you, plus one, to come on the GA cruise of a lifetime
Enough of this silliness Steve, get onto the wrap up 😠
Oh, you are so not invited onto my ark!!!
    Meanwhile.....
On Monday, Cia had a really engaging set of questions and audience participation in this month's CSR Discussion Day
Then on Thursday, Renee did up a great summary of the Spring Anthology and all the people, authors, volunteers, and staff that put it all together!
Finally on Saturday, Comsie revisited a topic in a different way in a great GA Article

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well this turned out to be a very interesting week here at the GA News Blog. It wasn't planned this way, but it just worked out that 3 of the 4 entries were like the 4 of the planets lining up with the sun. In this case, the sun is Tim aka @Mikiesboy
Monday, Renee shared with us a great review written up by @Cole Matthews:
Then, this is where things started to fall in place! Tuesday, Graeme announced our newest Signature Author, @Mikiesboy:
Jump ahead a couple of days, and Renee was back with another round of the Spring Anthology. 4  new stories and links to get to the previous 2 announced releases!
So I said 3 of 4 entries this week, well what is the 3rd involving Tim? By total coincidence the list I'm using had the below Reader Recommended Story. Any one want to hazard a guess before scrolling down who's story was recommended?

    Weekly Wrap Up
We are now a week into the month of June, and a lot of places around the world celebrate Pride in June. How about your neck of the woods? My city actually does Pride the first weekend of September, but I don't know why . I've heard some chatter around the site about good, and unfortunately some bad, already happening. Tell us all about the good!
Did it seem like a short week in the blogs? That's because there were no anthologies posted this week due to Renee ending up hospitalized Thursday morning to have her appendix out. She assures me that barring any complications anthologies will resume this coming week.
Oh, I'm also going to put out a request for all members to PM me some of your story suggestions to feature in the weekly update. Some of you might be shy, but I'd really like to hear from you! Just needs to be a complete story or serial that you would like to give a shout out to everyone as a good story to read.
Let's jump now into the wrap up.
Monday was a new CSR feature for the month of June:

Wednesday, Carlos took over the blog for an extended period of time for the ever popular AAA:

Is it Monday yet? I'm on holidays and had a nice sleep in, which means a delay in getting this great review up! My apologies.

    Finding Refuge

    Reviewer: Timothy M.
    Status: Complete

Do you like a good cowboy story? Whether you do or not, I’m willing to bet you’ll enjoy this tale about two cowboys who’re in dire need of refuge. One is being hunted and has lost his best friend to the evil men following him. He and his trusted horse are on their last legs, thirsty and tired, when the story begins.
It’s difficult to describe the content without spoiling the delightful twist and turns, which are a wonderful part of the joy Gary’s short story gave me. But I think no one will be surprised to learn that, in true Headstall style, the heroes are decent, honest, gorgeous guys, who long for that one special person in their lives. Someone to trust, to love, and to share the dream of a home and a life filled with hard work, laughter and –ahem– hot man sex.   Not that there is any of the latter in this story.

Maybe I’ll just share some of the enthusiastic comments from readers and let you discover the rest for yourself.
@Coastguard: I absolutely LOVE the way you write. I've always enjoyed cowboy stories, and this one was exceptionally well written!
@Zeke Pine: Sir, this story holds much potential. Should you decide to add to it, I will not miss a chapter.
@ColumbusGuy: Okay, I won't say I'm a fan of Westerns now, but you brought me durn close, I reckon.
@LitLover: Your approach to a traditional cowboy story was interesting and engaging, drawing me in from the first line.
@Albert1434: The whole time I read this I could hear the music from the Good the Bad and the Ugly playing in the back ground.

So how was your week? We had a bit going on here this week at GA and what better place for one stop shopping than on Sunday morning in North America in the Weekly Wrap Up!
Monday, we had a great Featured Story by @spikey582 on one of the omnipotent one's stories here at GA
Next on Wednesday, we had  Renee drop by to give us another Author Guess Who. Did you guess who?
Finally on Friday, @comicfan popped buy with a couple new prompts. Also brought some disturbing comments

Another Monday, and another great story to be featured! If you have overeaten ham, turkey, or other holiday weekend fare, then why exercise when you can sit back and read another fascinating story brought to us from our great Story Review Team!

A Bad Day to be WET
    Myr
    Reviewer: spikey582

    Word Count: 5,341
For this review, I felt like looking at something a bit different from what I've reviewed in the past. My first love, as far as genre fiction is concerned, has always been sci-fi/fantasy stories, and yet I’ve not read many of the GA offerings in that genre. So, to remedy that I decided to dip into some of the writing of GA’s own Myr.
In A Bad Day to be WET, we get to experience a day in the life of one Bill Thomas, a test pilot in the Terran Confederation Spaceforce. Bill is a Jumper, one who can sense “jump points” in space time, and psionically “jump” a ship from one point or another. We meet him in the midst of calibrating the navigation system in a prototype bomber spacecraft. Shortly, he is being called away on a priority mission, flying through a hurricane, and transporting civilians through an active war zone.
What I particularly love about this story is that it feels like an episode of an exciting sci-fi tv show. We get taken for a thrilling ride, and it is so much fun to experience. While this is a short story, that is somewhat episodic in nature, Myr still does an amazing job of developing his main character Bill. Be it through his daring flight skills, his forthright banter, or his casual flirtation with a senator’s son, we get a well-defined picture of what he’s like and what he’s about. The best part is that it’s all done through the action and dialogue of the story.
A Bad Day to be WET feels in every way like it should be part of an ongoing sci-fi tv series. In fact, considering that Myr has written several other shorts set in this same universe, it can certainly be read as such a series.
This is a fun, action-packed read. Go check it out, and hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I have.

I'm shocked  I'm surprised  I'm flabbergasted  And you all should be too! When I found this out yesterday I was left with my mouth agape . Just when you thought you knew a guy, you find out how little you know! And then, to top it all off, he chooses to use deceit and misguidance to throw everyone further off the track. It has been pointed out that he didn't lie, but to me he might have just well have . I'm not willing to turn my back on him and I think no one else should either .

So, don't tell anyone  but I think Renee missed her hour of sleep this week  . This makes less work for me, and gives me something to tease her about  . I do have to admit that I don't have a lil' one under that age of 1 that I'm tending to day in and day out, so I guess I shall forgive her  Why don't we all share our love  .

On a more sad note, we have members in New Zealand that we should share our love with too  .

Monday, Renee introduced us to another featured story from our Review Team.

Jump to Friday where we had not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 prompts this week!

Saturday was a celebration and milestone for Comicality, 50 GA Articles are under his belt!

If you don't have this annoying time shift in your neck of the woods, it resets our clocks an hour ahead or behind to accommodate for longer days for the summer and shorter days for the winter and energy consumption. Unfortunately Saturday night was the kick in for Daylight savings time, and some annoyingly happy person said, "Let's Spring Forward", but never considered that I'm losing a very important hour of sleep . Oh well, I should be back to my usual, chipper, happy, self around the end of June .

    Carthera Takeover Tales
    by @Cia

Bonds Unbroken The Carthera are a violent race, never failing to respond to battle, they nevertheless are a proud and honorable people. Except for the ferals. Battles for territory, fighting persecution from the humans, for the right to rule, have echoed down through the ages. In these modern times things are different, easier. Laws are made--and enforced--and peace, of a sorts, is possible. Some seek to end that.
          2. Two of a Kind
A hot steamy jungle, a plague in the past and present and two men who are destined to be mates. Volatile tempers erupt in a fiery tale of romance and magic.
         3. Hypnotic
Davis has been alone for a long time. Between his club and his job essentially as a mercenary for Velaku, the local Carthera leader who let him live in his territory, he has little time to worry about finding a mate. If that is even possible for one of his kind. That doesn't mean he doesn't want one though.

    Weekly Wrap Up
I guess there is no completed stories or poems on the site that are worth making a shout out to Well, there is one so thanks to that person for giving us a great recommendation to put at the end of this week's Wrap Up!  In case you missed it in my ramblings last week, we were hoping to have you the readers (if you read on site, you are a reader )  to recommend a completed poem, story or series to have featured at the end of the Wrap Up. All you have to do is go to my profile @wildone, click on the little blue box with an envelope saying Message, and send me one, two, three or more completed story/poem recommendations. It won't be like the more in depth blog reviews, but more a shout out to an author/poet by a reader and the blurb they have shared with the story. Check out this weeks at the bottom!

So what happened at the GA Blog this week you ask?

Monday, Cia brought us the February Classic Author Feature! It even came with a snazzy signature banner you can use if you want.

As expected, this meant Tuesday we had the Classic Author Excerpt:

It was a hop, skip and a jump over to Friday where Renee shared a couple more prompts from our prompt guru, comicfan:

Saturday we got another great article from Comicality:

Bound & Bound - the Curse and the Captives-
    by @AC Benus

Emeric's life sucks; he's unhappy, drifting, lonely and sad. Things go from bad to crazy with the opening of a set of secrets that no one could have prepared him for. He quickly wonders whom he can trust, who is working for 'them,' and why this misfortune fell upon his shoulders in the first place. A twisting thread through history pulls him tighter and tighter, and eventually, either he or the binding may snap.

    Weekly Wrap Up
    What's up, buttercup?

So did you get to use that expression on Valentines Day? I know I'm late and maybe should have presented this last week, but oh well . So I remember when I was in elementary school, getting a box of Valentines Cards and filling out for everyone in my class, boys and girls. I was thinking to doing that this year at work but when I mentioned it to someone, they thought I might be setting myself up for a visit with H.R. So, did you do anything to spread your love this year, and if so, how? Or do you hate Valentine's Day all together?

Now a request to everyone! If you look at the GA Classic at the bottom, it is empty We have been using a list and we have now run out! So if you know of a story you think we should feature in the weekly update, make sure to drop me a PM @wildone. This can mean any finished story. I shall compile a list and then Renee and I will start providing a link and the blub for the stories that you suggest! Even if it has been featured in the past and you think it should be featured again, let me know! For series, let's try to feature up to completed books. This should be your place to feature a favourite story of yours .

Now, shall we visit what the GA Blog brought us this week?

On Monday, Renee introduced us to a new Featured Story by @Thorn Wilde

On Wednesday it was another round of Q & A! Lots of Authors contributed to this!

Then we had an Anthology Thursday this week! Great responses from different people all working to get their ideas going.

Finally Friday arrived and the all Renee week ended with a couple more prompts from @comicfan

    Man in Motion
    by Mark Arbour

"Man in Motion," follows Be Rad and begins in 1985. To most Americans, 1985 was about the second Reagan term and the economic boom that was following the stagnant 70's. The culture was wrapped up in materialism, so it's no wonder that Madonna's "Material Girl" was popular then. Then there is this parallel culture, the gay culture, reeling from the onslaught of AIDS.

    Weekly Wrap Up
Well one down, 11 to go  So the topic around North America this week has been the weather. I won't go into temps as there is both Celsius and Fahrenheit used here. The interesting thing is that as both approach -40, they meet. So pretty everywhere in North America above Mexico, it was darn cold. But I don't want to just talk about North America, so what about your neck of the woods. I imagine Australia is basking in their summer. Is Europe freezing cold too, or just a normal winter?

Let's jump into the week in review, and I mean at the GA Blog and not the weather

Monday, we hit the end of the month so it was our CSR Discussion Day:

    Weekly Wrap Up
So have you started to regret the holiday season? Did you maybe spend a penny or two more that you expected this year? I was thinking how lucky we all are in that we can come to GA and read and read and read and not put out a penny if we want! And this community is the reason why! I don't know why, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that contributes to the site, Authors, Poets, Editors, Betas, Members, Review Team, Author Promotion Team, Anthology Proof Team, Site Moderation Team, and Admins. You all make this site the greatest!

Now I remember why I wanted to say that

Monday, Renee shared with us some great reviews of said great stories. If you ever have 'nothing to read', maybe bookmark this one:

On Wednesday, Renee introduced us to a new Blog feature, Author Guess Who. No, this isn't an Author of a 60's-70's Rock Band

We had a short week and jumped to Comsie's GA Article on taking your writing to another level with publishing.
