So read another article in the newspaper, but this one has most the same information:

    Exodus admits they were wrong

Personally I'm glad there is one less organization that people can turn to and say that they were 'curing' homosexuality.

A couple of pretty amazing statements from the article:

Another quote I saw in the local newspaper but not in the article was that Chambers admitted that they were practicing their beliefs in contrary to what the bible teaches and expects.

So in all my years at GA, this is my first blog that I have done Since it is politically sensitive it had to go here instead of a Lounge topic.

Thursday marked what I consider a monumental change in the way gay rights is viewed in the US.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/05/24/us-usa-boyscouts-ban-vote-idUSBRE94M1A320130524

I personally know of some members here at GA that have tried to help American Scouts to get their Eagle Scout badge after they were kicked out for being gay. So much that they applied to the Boy Scouts of Canada to recognize them for what they surely deserve.

One very interesting part of the article:

I can't help but feel a feeling of hope to see the Church of Latter Day Saints and the United Methodist Church voting in FAVOUR or lifting the ban as a very, very positive step. Hopefully it is a new direction of the LDS church which traditionally opposed any rights of the GLBT community.

The absence of the Catholic Church's opinion is expected as they have agreed that GLBT people are welcomed into the church as long as they don't practice behaviours that the Church frowns on. Although I openly oppose this rule of their Church, by them not opposing it, it appears they are making small strides in what I consider the right direction.

The change.org petition which led the largest corporate sponsors to threaten withdrawal of monetary support (Intel, UPS, etc.) must have had a very major and impacting message to the Boy Scouts of America.

I agree with the final sentiments of the article that the ban on openly gay leaders could fall in the near future. After all the petitions for the removal of the ban on gay scouts garnered 1.8 million signatures against the 250,000 signatures to keep the status quo.

I know it is sometimes hard to recognize some organizations that our community tends to disagree with but I'm willing to congradulate the LDS and UMC for making what I think is a historical first steps towards equality of all with no basis on Age, Gender, Religion and Sexual Identification. Bravo!

    Weekly Wrap Up
Not sure where in the world you are, but Winter has finally arrived here Temperatures reaching highs of -20C / -4F has kept me in a lot and doing a lot of reading instead. Enough about the weather, lets see what happened on the site this week.

Monday we had Cia introduce us to the December CSR Feature. This month we are going to look at Kuragari129's story My Life Started At The End Of The World. If the title doesn't capture your interest then wait until you read the synopsis. Discussion day for this story will be on Monday, December 26th. You have just over 2 weeks to git er done.

Wednesday was the ever popular feature called Ask An Author here on the blog. This is where Renee turns the blog over to Dark for questions presented to authors of our site. This month Dark interviewed albertnothlit, Nephylim, Riley Jericho, and skinnydragon. Not only is it interesting to hear from popular authors but also to learn how they handle writing and making the great stories that they do.

Friday finished up the week with our return to Writing Prompts 542 and 543.These new prompts are good to get the creative juices flowing (hopefully more than molasses in Calgary this week ) and get some interesting ideas and works on the site for everyone to enjoy! Prompt 542 was a creative one using these words - red leaf, turkey, squeaky wheel, pumpkin, and a blue shoe. Prompt 543 was a creative one using the first line of I think it is time for you and I to have a little talk. Lastly Cia featured Hunter Thompson's response from Prompt 539.

Wow, October 2nd already!!! Won't be long until the holidays arrive and we turn the pages to the new year.

This week we started off with C S R Discussion Day and Cia took the time to interview Puppilull and discuss her story Thaw. It is always interesting to see the responses to the hard hitting questions of Cia . The other great thing about C S R Discussion Day is that you the readers get a blog to discuss what is on your mind with the Author. We had a great discussion on Monday.

Wednesday was Re-Visit Reviewing For The Blog. Renee explained to us all the parameters for being on the Blog Review Team. We have a great community of authors and readers. This is your way to give back to the community by volunteering to do a review for the blog. I know the other day I read a review and ended up reading a 20 chapter story that I really enjoyed. Why not help out the team by putting your name forward?

Friday was Prompt Me day and we had double the amount of prompts this week. Second Chance Prompts #475, #477, #479 and #483. Being four of them this week, make sure you stop by and see if any get your writing on. In addition there was a look back at some older responses back to the beginning of the year from Doctor Oger and Timothy M.

    Weekly Wrap Up
The leaves are turning and falling in my neck of the woods. Have they started where you are, or are the leaves just starting to come out as you inch you way towards summer? As the weather chills, I turn to more reading as the days are getting shorter too.

We had a busy week here at GA and with Renee away, I am going to attempt to fill in for her.

Monday, we started off the week with Cia letting us know about the C S R feature for the month of September. Thaw by Puppilull. Make sure you get the chance to read it and then come back for the discussion day on September 26th.

Wednesday was the first one of the month, so we were treated to the ever popular Ask An Author feature by Dark. In entry 42, Dark talked to Andrew Q. Gordon, Nephylim, skinnydragon, and W_L. These are some of my favourite authors, so make sure you check them out. Who knows they might become some of yours.

Friday finished up the week with the challenge being thrown down in Writing Prompts 528 and 529. 528 challenges us to come up with a story involving these words; a zoo, a bright green shirt, a hot dog, a security guard, and torn pants. 529 gave us a tag of the Trip; There is a good news bad news sort of win at your job. There was a trip to the one place you have always wanted to. The trip includes air fare, hotel, and two meals daily. The bad news is the one coworker you can’t stand one the other ticket and will be with you the whole time. You can either go with them or give up the trip of a lifetime. What do you do? Finally Renee shared Mikiesboy response to 527.

Howdy Partners Today is the last day of stampede, so I shall be putting away my Cowboy hat, boots and buckle for another year

Today I want to start the blog off by announcing the Love is Love Anthology is now been published and available for download or purchase of hard copies. Since the tragedy in Orlando, many great Authors and Poets combined together to make an Anthology to bring some hope out of the darkness and celebrate something everyone has in common, Love. Lots of our own Authors and Poets have made contributions to this worthy cause. Make sure you pop by Cazpedroso's Blog to find out more about it.

Back to our regular scheduled programming, we started out on Monday with Aditus bringing our attention to a great story by Parker Owens in our Featured Story this week; A to Z. A great review will give the you more than enough information on piquing your interest in this story.

Wednesday Renee let everyone know about the time of year when you, the Authors and Readers, get the opportunity to tell us what you would like for anthologies for next year! This is the first step of soliciting your help with this task. If you have ideas or suggestions, please visit the Anthology News blog to find out how you can have your say.

Friday, Wayne brought us all 2 new Writing Prompts. Prompt 514 is a creative one with the first line of "Where on earth did you find that?" (If it is a winning lottery ticket, please return it to me as soon as possible ). Prompt 515 is a creative one as well with a theme of a Fairy Tale. Renee also shared with everyone two responses from the previous week. One by Mikiesboy and one by Cia.

    Weekly Wrap Up
First thing, a shout out to my fellow Canucks who are enjoying the Thanksgiving long weekend and stuffing their bellies with turkey. I know this is only relevant to a small number of our Members but I ask all of you to take a moment and think of all the things that you are thankful in your life

Shall we look at the past week in the GA News Blog? Monday started off the week with a compilation of Stories for the C S R Feature. Cia has given us 3 short stories that all are Halloween themed. Bill W, Gee Whillickers and Cynus all have a story that if you get the opportunity to read, can be discussed on the Discussion Day of Monday October 26th.

The first Wednesday of the month had Renee turning over the reins to one of our most favourite features, Ask An Author. Dark brought us questions from you, the Members, to 3 different Authors; aditus, Cia, and wolfwriter. There is not only interesting questions, but interesting answers on this months installment.

Friday wrapped up the week with Comicfan joining us again for this weeks Prompt Me! Wayne has added another prompt by joining with A.C.Benus to challenge anyone who wants to give poetry a try, to attempt a Ballade. Wayne then jumped into two more prompts; first was a first line of 'So tell me all the details' and also 'The Break' on where you might take a vacation. Wayne followed up with a couple of submissions from the previous week by JohnAR and Puppilull.

    Weekly Wrap Up
It appears that Renee is living up to her name this past week and is actually being a Crazy Mountain Lady. So if you were looking for her, you need to look up in the Mountains to find out where she is being crazy

First thing I want to do is an announcement for all. Make sure you don't forget to read Graeme's "The Rainy Day" short story for this month's CSR Discussion Day taking place Monday, September 28th. He'll be answering your questions on the blog at 6 PM New Zealand time (GMT-13) so make sure you get your questions in early if that's not a convenient time for you!

Starting off last week Cia brought us a new Featured Story for the week. Rob Colton's Noah's New Plan was this weeks story. Cia asked several of our Members to provide some reviews that were accumulated and all included in the blog to entice your reading! Kind of different to see various peoples' opinions about one story.

Tuesday had Myr take over the blog and give us the information about the new Political Forum called The Pit. This is a place that has been designated to discuss topics such as politics that have previously not been allowed on site except for the blogs. There are some strict ground rules and you do have to buy a $0.00 membership to post. Hoping it will keep the highly controversial topics off the rest of the site.

Wednesday was a great Interview with the author of Noah's New Plan; Rob Colton. A bit different interview in that Cia asked him about his Wednesday Briefers flash group. I know many of our Authors participate in them, and it is great to see Rob has put out some great stories, and more to come, using this method.

Friday, the prompt Guru Comicfan posted directly to the blog for Prompt Me! The first prompt was a creative one using the words; notebook, pen, coffee, a crystal and a broken light bulb. The second one was using the tag of The Gift. Check out both of them and hopefully will get the creative juices flowing. Finally Wayne shared not 1, nor 2, or 3, but 10 briefs of different authors contributions to the prompts. Lots of them to check out this week.
