I'd like to mention that the pictures used are not necessarily of Atlantis, or Ares. CJ used them to give as a reference point so that that reader had an idea of it looked like. It's pretty much the same thing for the pictures and maps he uses throughout the story. They're meant for reference only.
Check to see if the internal fan is working. You should be able to feel air coming from a side vent. If there is air, then it may be possible that since you place it on your lap, you are covering the bottom vents not allowing air to be pulled in to cool it off.
I would suggest getting a lap pad to set the laptop on. This would allow air to flow. The also make these lap pads with fan built into them circulate air underneath.
From the prologue we have this,
I think in this case, most everyone assumed that to mean the Rachel was returning home on Ares. In my comment when I said she, I was referring to Rachel.
I think you could consider most of, if not all of, CJ's stories as adventure/mystery.
I can agree that CJ will do what he can to try and confuse the reader. Some of his clues can be obvious while others aren't and you have to go back.
Being one of the beta readers on the team, I'm not privy to anything, except that I get to see the chapter earlier. If, in my comments, I'm close to something, I don't really get much of an answer one way or another.
Given what we've learned about this type boat, if it had been blown up, there should have been debris found.
Gay Authors is on a dedicated server somewhere at one of Invision Powers sites. Fortunate for us, they have Tech Support available on the weekend so they were able to get the site back up fairly quickly. To minimize the loss of data, Myr took the site offline.
Once a backup copy was uploaded, Myr then spent time repairing the glitches that were found.
The Writers Support Team is pleased to announce once again that April is Team Recognition Month.
Authors, this is your opportunity to publicly recognize and thank your team for the work they do for you. It is also a time to recognize the teams who work behind the scenes here at Gay Authors.
To begin the celebration, I'm going to begin with the Writers Support Team by recognizing the rebuilt team.
Talonrider: Admin, WST Lead
Cia: Admin, WST Deputy Lead

I originally joined as a reader and an editor. I'm one of those rare members here who isn't an author. I eventually began working with a number of authors here besides those I worked with off site. Since joining, I became involved in helping develop the Editor/Beta Reader Program as the Editing Lead, as part of the Writers Support Team.
When the WST was rebuilt at one point, I became the WST Deputy Lead. The WST has been rebuilt again with all the recent changes and now I'm the WST Lead as well as a member of the Admin Team.
I spend more time here than I do any other site.
Thanks Tim.
For the benefit of the newer members, when an Admin or Mod makes a post in RED font, it is a warning to get the topic back on track. Since my warning has been ignored, this topic will be closed for Moderator review.
I can see Shane running to Trev's side some night during one of his nightmares.
When it comes to the hotdogs, canned of course, I don't think anyone will be able to get close to him without him giving them an evil glare. I think if Shane had brought any out, he'd be going for a swim.
CJ's the type author who likes to have a good supply of chapters ahead before he starts posting. This allows for those unforeseen times like this that still allows him to post, even if he has to change. About the only other time that he changes his posting schedule is when he's going to be gone.
I'm a bird of Prey, but I'm not like other Birds of Prey. If you want to know what kind that is, listen to Supertramps song, Aubade (And I Am Not Like Other Birds of Prey).
When I made this reply, I couldn't go to y tube get this link. For some strange reason, the employer frowns on us going to certain sites.
That's why it's easier just to call him CJ, you don't have to remember the correct name.
It didn't take me long to figure out who was doing the talking in this story.
It seems he can write under either of these conditions, drunk or sober, and keep them funny.
