    Oh, Rats!

Sounds like I'll have to swoop in and grab those pack rats with my Garam Sarr and haul those suckers out of there. Maybe even make a snack out of one or two of them. The spider's, your own your own there. Jan
  2. Thanks, CJ. All in all, it was a good trip despite the weather and traffic problems. One thing that I did forget to mention was, that while at King's Island, I lost my cellphone and had to buy a new one. Jan
  3. Welcome home and get better quickly. Jan
  4. My original suggestion was The Goat Herd, but as discussion picked up on it, it got shortened to The Herd. A herd could be any type of animal and by adding Goat to it, it becomes specific at to what type of herd it is. Jan
  5. Happy Birthday, Kevin!!!!!!!!!
  6. I thought the same thing when I read that. And I'm baaaaaaack. You can check out my blog to see what I was up too last week. Jan
  7. Not much I can add to this since I've on the road and I've finally gotten a chance to read this chapter. I will say, I''ll be happy when Brandon and Chase finally get that first kiss out of the way. Good chapter CJ. Jan
  8. The trip from Mason, Ohio, took us about 5.5 hours to get to Indiana Beach, Monticello, In. Fortunately, it was hot and humid, but not as hot and humid as the Cincinnati area. Peter loved the Hoosier Hurricane and The Cornball express. We've pulled into my hometown and we're getting ready to go eat and visit some friends.
  9. In the short time that I scanned all of this, and while on vacation. I thought of a simple one, THE GOAT HERD. After all, we are talking about a writing goat here. Jan
  10. Thanks Rigel. That's a nice article. I would love to walk The Beast track just for fun sometime to really get up and personal with it. I'm talking a mile and a quarter, the longest wooden coaster in the world. Today's update. We spent the day in King's Island. It was very hot and humid today. We took some rides on The Beast, The Italian Job, Vortex, Firehawk, The Racer, Son Of Beast, a.k.a. Sonny and SOB, and Top Gun. Flight of Fear, an indoor launch coaster broke down just before we got to the loading platform so we didn't ride. But it was nice to be in air conditioning for awhile. Face Off was also down when we got to it. We also found out that Firehawk went down also. The highlight of the day is when Peter and I went to some shopping before leaving the park. We where at the check out and got to talking with the cute cashier. He had made the comment that he didn't like getting hit by the cash draw when it opened up. In my opinion, he apparently enjoyed it to some extent. The pants he was wearing weren't that tight and and an outline could definitely be seen.
  11. Thought I give you an update as to the vacation. Our trip started at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday 8/18/07. About 2 hours into the trip, we got into some stopped traffic. An hour later, we finally go passed the scene of an overturned semi-trailer. We arrived an hour later than planned at Geauga Lake in Aurora Ohio. When we left the park that night, it took us about 45 minutes to find the hotel. We could have found it sooner if I had turned the right direction. Sunday 8/19, we drove to Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio, in the rain. The hour and a half drive, took us 3 hours to do. It rained off and on all day. During the day, our most exciting ride was on Wicked Twister, followed by MaxAir, a big swinging ride in which the riders sit facing out and spinning around while it swings back an forth. We also made a few circuits on the train. When it stop raining, they would start preparing the coasters to run, but as soon as it would start sprinkling again, they would stop. Monday 8/20, wasn't much better. It rained harder, so we didn't go into the park until late afternoon. We did get to ride more. We did do some circuits on the train again and this time I had my camera, so I will be posting some new pictures when we get back home this weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't get to ride the new for 2007 coaster, Maverick. It hadn't run all weekend. Tuesday morning 8/21, we left our hotel at the park for the 3 1/2 hour drive to the Cincinnati area for King's Island. But we did have to take a detour off I75 after sitting in traffic for an hour and a half, due to a accident. It took us 6 and a half hours to make the trip. This time includes a stop for breakfast. It also includes about two hours of driving in the rain. I also managed to loose my cell phone today also. I'll be checking in the morning to see if some one by chance found it and turned it in. Fortunately, it didn't rain at King's Island so we got to do some serious riding, including two coasters that I've not ridden yet, The Italian Job and Firehawk, the new flying coaster. A very interesting ride. We wound up adding an extra day to King's Island instead of going to Holiday World in Santa Claus, In. The hotel we were going to stay at called me on the Friday before we were to leave to see if we were going to the park. Come to find out, the park is now closing for weekday operations and going to weekend operations only because school is now in session. I'm glad they did that. It would have pissed me off to get all the way there and then find out the park was CLOSED. I'll update this entry in a day or two.

    Sometimes

And you know you can always use me as a sounding board.
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BONDWRITER!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Now that CJ's first story is done and he's now hosted, it's party time. Last night I heard of the perfect Ice Cream to be served. It's called La Loo AND it's made from Goat's Milk. Jan
  15. I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT! It did turn out to be Eric who shot the Sheriff, and not the deputy. I had to laugh at that one. That was one nice story. Now you know why I was making the swelled head comments. I was saying something without saying something. Jan
  16. Congratulations CJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. If I didn't already have vacation plans made, I'd consider it. There's also a couple of people in the S.F. area I'd like to catch up with. I met one of the a couple of years ago when he was in the D.C. area. But since I've already got a grueling week of coaster riding planned with a friend, I'll stick to that. Jan
  18. And I think it will be a sweet surprise for everyone. Takes flight to keep from getting butted by the swollen headed goat. Jan
  19. In other words, your not a Mountain Goat. Jan
  20. As one editor to another, Emo, what have you got to say for yourself on this? Quoting myself, Then there's CJ's way. And just as it's really starting to get interesting, CJ stops and leaves us. (Notice I didn't say Leaves us Hanging. Don't want to give our big headed goat the chance to remind us, he doesn't do cliffies). Good chapter CJ. You gave us a few chuckles with this one. And nothing like a little break in the action with 'The Scar'. Jan

    Hellacious

My first thought when I saw this was, What the hell? If by HOT, you're referring to the weather there, I'll have to agree. I passed a bank thermometer, here in PA, on the way home from work on 8/8 that read 98 degrees. The heat index was well over 100. As for the rest of blog, I ain't touching that one.
  22. Take all the time you need. We'll be here when you're ready. Jan
  23. My comment wasn't meant to come down on you or make you feel bad. Each person is different. Jan
