I've always loved Will for the way he has his people's back & for his ability to place boundaries and demand they be respected. JJ was amazingly self-centred and vile towards him & Brad. Besides, at what age exactly are we expecting the family to stop coddling JJ? No one has really done him a favour by putting up with his bullshit. It's why it's gone on for so long. If I were that loyal to someone only to have them spit in my face like that - they're dead to me. Will was nice to direct any energy at JJ at all, even if it was a punch, because the only energy I have is the bare minimum of politeness at family functions. I'm glad he had people standing up for him because he's right. Just because someone is family doesn't mean that you have to put up with untenable abuse forever. As for Jack and his nasty little announcement and the timing - is it crack? Marie summed it up succinctly. May he get what he deserves.

This story is really unlocking a lot of old memories. I think most of our families in southern Africa must have been watching dynasty 🫠, lol. And the whole struggle with the Catholic/Calvinist issue, going to Catechism at church, because thank heavens we weren't fed that bs at school. Big box to unpack, as a person raised but Catholic, who is currently agnostic 🫣. The rage that my female parental unit unleashed when I read the Holy Books of other religions as a teen, lol. Anyhoo, I hope this article is of some help to our young protagonist after the clusterfuck of the last chapter (which of course is always magnified in one's teens). If I were to ever name a son Steven, it'd certainly be after Mr Biko. Alas, the oven is closed for business permanently. Very curious as to where you'll take us next, & what box of memories shall be opened next 😅

I think one thing Europeans don't really understand, is that white Africans are just that. Africans. All my African white and Indian friends immediately went back home after uni in the North. They found everything there unbearable and most were seriously depressed until they got back. If you're born and raised there, it's difficult to tolerate life in the global North.

I grew up Botswana and went to a Private Cambridge School. This is all so familiar, lol. Except the bullying part. At least for the five years I was there 😅. I'm getting to like Will and Travis' relationship more and more as we move along through this story. I was initially a bit worried about Travis being "younger" in many ways. That letter was impeccable. Right dose of honesty and tied together the answers to many questions very neatly. My ever curious mind appreciated it 😅. Also hoping that Travis and Big can retain some sort of relationship - better yet, if it is in more equal footing. Perhaps Travis' trusts may just do that. No comments on Miranda and her daughter, lol 🫠

I mean, it is quite clear that the boys are rebounding with each other hard... But the doctor does have a point about Will having left high school & all that behind on purpose, while Travis is still firmly ensconced there. Plus, with Will leaving for Harvard in the fall, the longevity of any kind of relationship between the guys is very unlikely 🤷🏽‍♀️. I'm not sad to hear that I won't have to endure reading about Will hooking up with Patrick, won't lie. He's on my creepozoid list since the whole debacle with forcing himself on the model.
