    A question.

OH YES!!!! Been there, done that.
  2. Luc -- you have done a good think with this topic It has been a real hoot to this 69 year old gay person!! I'm not sure if it's an age thing or living high up in the Rocky Mountains thing ----- but----- when I leave my house --- which is left UNLOCKED -- my security system armed -- I do have a good dog for that -- my wallet and checkbook are already in the car because that's where I keep them - always! If my sweats have pockets I may have some change -- just in case I want a newspaper. I rarely carry folding money because I am a impulse buyer - I have twice bought a new house AND a new car in the same week - and of course, my always at hand, debit card!! Now that is REALLY something I SHOULD leave at home!!! But ---- I really do think the back packs can look sharp and even sexy on some people. I really should look around and see what I could put in one of those things. I'm not to sure if I would look sexy but, on the other hand, I do like the sweats and commando is my middle name Thanks Luc
  3. Kevin is correct on the astronomy facts AND the great photographs. I had not seen the photo of Jupiter's moon Io which is outstanding!! I am on a half dozen or so NASA e-mail lists which produce an endless number of space photographs. Just amazing!!! Makes me think back to my 8th grade Science class with Ms. Hart and her love of astronomy -- How the understanding of our universe has changed during the past 50+ years!!! Ms. Hart was my most favorite teacher -- ever! What she did with her science class was amazing!! Thank you Ms. Hart.
  4. OK --- I am going to color myself as being VERY stupid here. I relate to Kurt's post. Snow dogs post is in outer space as far as my brain is concerned. Hang with me on this -- OK? I was far from the brightest light in school. I have no idea what my IQ is - if it was known, I never heard what it was. I have an excellent grasp of common sense and scored VERY high on my entrance tests into the Air Force -- second in my Flight of 120 guys in basic training. When I completed my testing my recruiter sent me back for Officer Training School testing -- which I fell FLAT on my face with -- outer space again!! I am pretty sure sure I am dyslexic but that (dyslexia) all came about after my school days. My question is -- Why is this Greek to some people (me) and not to others? Did I miss something in the courses I took -- or is it logic in my brain that isn't working properly? I know -- this is some really deep do do -- but I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't looking for some honest ideas/answers!! So bring it on -- OK? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A bit of time has past --- Amazing what one can find on Google!!! Learning disabilities/dyslexia was interesting reading!!! YES -- No doubt that I have dyslexia!!!! Classic case I might add. Sure wish I could do it all over again from the beginning. Now the kids are into drugs, marathon sex, fast food, single parent families and the list goes on. To the young people here, that is not meant as a put down. We all are a product of of our youth. For good or bad. How many of them have learning disabilities and are still not being treated properly? Or are they a product of being treated??? Sincere hugs to all
  5. Kevin -- You hit the nail on the head!!!! It is total grey -- from a pure white (straight) to pure black (gay) If what they say is true that 10% of the male population is "Gay" then I think that same 10% figure should hold true for the "Straight" population There by leaving 80% in the "Grey" area with a true bi-sexual (50-50) in the middle. One might also say that the "pure" White/Black might only be 1% of the population on each end -- leaving 98% of the population somewhere in the "Grey" area. Either are interesting on a logical scale/level -- proving it is an entirely different matter. Quite frankly, the 1% seems more logical if we are going to paint a true black to white grey scale. Once you start leading away from either black or white you are immediately moving into the grey scale. It really depends on how finely the scale is divided. So why would a logical person "load" each end of the scale with 10% White and 10% Black unless the graduations are 10% increments ???? This is all assuming that we can buy into the grey scale assumption. Quite frankly, I buy into it completely!! In fact, I think that truly is the "way it is". I know this logic is pushing the envelope --- but on the other hand, couldn't it be true???? Like they say -- "being at the right place at the right time" suggests, in my opinion, the grey x\y scale works!! All we need are 100 random people to prove it -- or 100,000 people. Comments invited!!!!!!!
  6. I am SO happy to see the great comments you are getting on "No Shirt? No Problem!"!!! You did a GREAT job writing the story and am looking forward to reading the extended version. Hugs, Eddy
  7. Thought this would be a good time to drop this one------------------------ A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What are all those clocks?" St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move." " Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?" "That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie." "Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?" St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life." "Where's President Bush's clock?" asked the man. "Bush's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan.
  8. I went to the Dell website last Monday and signed uo for my replacement -- I was amazed when it showed up via DHL yesterday complete with prepaid return lable ----- WAY KEWL I'm not sure if you should worry to much about the battery going up in smoke -- as I remember from Dell's website that less than a dozen of the batteries under the recall have actually burned. And that is with 4.1 million batteries in the total recall.
  9. I think it would be interesting to get some feed back from some authors, or others, on this issue (using the "save file as" to save files (stories) to the computer for later reading) as to their feelings and how it relates to their copyrights. Any opinions???
  10. I am soooo happy that Jack has been added to this site!!! Jack's stories are so well crafted and enjoyable!!!!! I have read all but Vegas and am waiting until it comes to an ending before reading it. They all are a MUST READ!!!!! Thanks for sharing them with us Jack!!! Eddy
  11. Interesting comment --- I find it interesting because I have NEVER read a story on line for a number of reasons. The biggest reason is that it is soooo inconvenient --- number two is the endless type fonts, font sizes and backgounds people can use. My standard preference is a Comic Sans MS 11 point white type on a Sea Green background with the magnification set at 150%. So easy on the eyes!! As a result, every story is saved to my desktop and read on my laptop, which is wireless. I use Microsoft Word for reading and reformat everything to my "standard" format. Much more enjoyable!! Saving the file is as simple as a right click and "save file as" -- in the case of a page using "frames" also a right click in the frame you want to save and click on "This Frame" then click on "save frame as" in the dropdown menu. Very simple!!!! (This is assuming your using Windows XP) Hope this is what you were asking for. Copyright might be an issue but --- as it is only on my computer for my convenience and not being past on to other people in some form it is not an issue. I hope!!
  12. But then -- the right person and the right time -- most any person might be a "Queen for a Day" -- people can be strange -- Yes??? :king:
  13. Right on!!!!! Hey College Guy -- you have gotten some great advise here from your friends. Don't burn bridges -- You only get one Mother and one Father in your life time and you shouldn't go through life not loving both of them. Let you heart guide you. Best of luck on this buddy!!
  14. I just this morning received the following and just had to send it along Gay flamingos, steal chicks, good parents DURSLEY, England, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Two male flamingos at a British wildfowl reserve, inseparable for five years, steal chicks but make good foster parents, wildlife officials say. Officials at the Slimbridge Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in Dursley say the homosexual pair perform the elaborate courtship dance -- usually confined to males and female couples -- twice each year before building a nest, the Daily Telegraph reported Saturday. "They seem very happy. They will probably stay together for the rest of their lives," said Nigel Jarrett, the reserve's aviculture manager. "They are not picked on by the other birds. If anything they are afforded more respect because two males together can be a pretty fearsome prospect for the other flamingos." The two birds, Greater Flamingos native to the Mediterranean and Africa, fight the heterosexual birds and steal their eggs -- and have raised baby chicks three times. "They are very good parents though and behave just as the heterosexual birds do when rearing their young," said Jarret.
