Funny, I didn't even consider the historical setting would matter, but when I think about it, I'm not crazy about certain setting myself. So I'm happy you gave my little story a try! That you enjoyed it makes me even happier! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I'm flattered you read it twice! LOL I hadn't really thought about making it a mystery, but it seemed it sort of turned out that way. More a mystery for Varius than the readers perhaps. I haven't thought of a sequel, but maybe I'll get in a prompt mood some day. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

    Story

I did study latin in high school, but I had only very vague ideas about the story of Valentine. Reading it, it seemed natural to combine my interest for Rome with a story. I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

The romantic side in me just said no! It might be trite and not very edgy, but I like happy endings... Thanks for reading and reviewing!

    Story

I'm too much of a sappy romantic to have the ending be like the original legend. Not that I can't live with sadness, but I couldn't stand to think of Varius having to go on alone... Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  6. Like I said before, my muse poem just appeared in my mind and all I had to do was write it down. Apparently, musie wanted the spotlight... I think the motion - emotion captures how my muse works. Never standing still, always trying to be honest. The bridge movie was much harder. I was on the verge of being overpowered by my own reaction. So I had to distance myself, which made it difficult to say what I truly felt. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  7. Seems the guys get a little naughty Valentine after all! They are worth it.
  8. I actually had to struggle hard to focus when writing the bridge poem. All that emotion threatened to flood me completely. The relationship to my muse is more relaxed, even if I can be challenged a lot...
  9. While the muse poem more or less wrote itself, the other one was much harder. So much emotion it threatened to take over completel. I guess that's the difference between written poem and silent movie. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
  10. Really? This will be so much fun!
  11. Yay! Way to go, Pk! I was planning to write in my review "Leave it to JAR to write a Valentine's story not about the wolves but a woman in pain..." I guess I wasn't alone. LOL
  12. I thought it was St Petersburg, Florida that she was aimed for, but Russia could be an option. Not for staying warm, but still... After my foray into Faunus and being told I was on the wrong track, I settled on the S being a J. As in Jeffrey. Jailor extraordinaire. But I'm still partial to the Faunus/Fauna idea. But I don't really see Emma as a scissor sister...
  13. Thank you for sharing this. Such a beautiful rendition of love, physical and emotional. I hope you can hold on to this feeling for a long, long time. I guess we're both getting to know more about each other today... LOL
  14. A Brian OD? Is there such a thing?
  15. Beast vs demon... Could go either way! If the parentage of A and F isn't in question, Seb came out victorious.
  16. My mind works in mysterious ways... F can look like an S. Faunus had connections to the succubae. So...
  17. All you have to do is ask. I'm not much of a 'woman' but I know the basics of that masquerade.
  18. Isaac's name is such an irony... I thought I could amuse you with my initial thoughts on Date. So SPOILERS! I have always had my suspicions about Emma as she seems like something else than a mere human. Reading Date I just went 'Succuba!'. Just that line of her not only wanting but desperately needing a boyfriend to avoid abstinence, made me wonder what she could be in such need of. And who or what needs that particular substance? And now the demon lord Faunus is back to haunt her! LOL I'm apparently all wrong, but I thought it could be amusing to share! One word (or two actually) for JAR though: waterproof mascara. LOL
  19. As terrible as a past may have been, it makes us who we are. If you manage to merge the past with your stronger present and not get stuck on the negative, then the past helps us become true. Thr trick is to embrace, not suppress and not surrender. A beautiful poem!
  20. Screaming into a pillow... That's a good sign! LOL I think you're not alone in having thought Preston would take the lead, but when the Iceman turns out to have a geyser like that who can resist? It was very sweet to hear Indie is also affected by Preston, to the point of becoming noticeably nicer.
  21. OH! I just want to hug them, pet them and kiss them all over! And the cats were cute too...
  22. 1. My muse My muse gets my brain to tumble And often he makes me grumble But then my world is inverted By those thoughts that make me humble 2. An occurance at Owl bridge With startling beauty all around And all God’s love in nature found In such despair he has to stand As rustling leaves make peaceful sound Time tumbles like grains of sand to once more be one with the land As reality is shaken The thread of life slips from his hand In a mere moment, life was taken
  23. Now what is Ambrose doing there? I hope it's good news. Andy could use a break on the drama front. As for marriage, I don't believe marriage is for kids. That said, I can see it being useful in the current situation. There's no doubt they love one another.
