Thanks, Terry. I never wanted to be a writer who wrote sex stories. I didn't want to shy away from something that is intrinsic to being a human, but there always has to be a good reason for it... never simply for titillation. Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Lol. Hold on a minute, Dan. I was going to do the Connor and Hugh story in the beginning of a second book if I wrote one. As yet, I haven't written a Book 2. It's a huge commitment, but still a possibility.

Look up at me when you say that.

Lol. Yup... you can just forge ahead. And I am extremely happy I decided to include this story arc in this book. It would have haunted me if I hadn't. Connor and Hugh are great characters.

I just read this a day or two ago, and had to read it again. Sorry for flinging you around, but I get it. Between Kellar going Aloha on Tobyn and the reunion and the first meeting between Tilly and Logan, there was a lot to stir the emotions. I always cry when I read the Miss Sybil/Arthur scene. Thanks so much for the kind words... I kind of knew you would like it if you gave it a chance. I like what you say here... that it is a great deal more than a shifter story. That was my goal when I wrote it. I didn't want to write just another shifter story... there are enough good ones out there, so I wanted something different, a different and magical world of characters who I created. Sometimes I feel very humble... and lucky that it all fell into place like it did. You've made my day, buddy.

Thanks, Dan. It's an important part of my shifters' dynamic... or it can be... and I wanted to give a glimpse of that aspect. Well... I guess it turned out to be more than a glimpse, but I think most of us can understand what it was, and what Tobyn was saying. It was most definitely still lovemaking, and I'm pleased you liked it. I am so pleased that stood out and hit home for you. There is underlying social commentary in much of my work, and especially this story. I wanted our community and others who have been marginalized to feel an affinity towards shifters. It's important we humans face up to ourselves. This was a happy chapter for me. I waited a long time to resurrect Arthur, and it was even better for me than I'd hoped. Thanks, Dan.

Yeah, I admit to having some regrets at staying put. I could have had it all, but I needed to be near my kids, and not being so would have colored everything else I wanted. Choices have to be made, and we have to live with them. Vega Pack will make the best of their situation. I have no doubt because of how I know shifters. There are, and that's a fact, but there is something else percolating in my brain. We shall see... I have to say I was truly surprised at the reaction to the sequel, Larkspur. I really expected it would be well received, but not anywhere near how Sidewinder was received. I was so happy to be wrong.

Fendral is a voice of reason, and I think we can see the Aloha in him as he talks to his grandson about his destiny. There were things Kellar needed to hear, and they best came from a grandfather he is in awe of. Such a satisfying chapter.

Kellar needs Tobyn, and that is never more clear than in this chapter as he works to save his grandfather. Family matters are emotional for me to write about... they always have been, but there is no reward like the healing of a family. We'll see what Fendral thinks if he makes it through this.

Yes, Terry, a very happy chapter all round. It's so rewarding to see the turnaround in the pack's hopes for the future. It wasn't that long ago there was none to speak of. Mates need to be together, and it didn't take Connor long to figure that out. Thanks, buddy.

I believe that showed us who Connor was more than anything. Mates do not hurt mates if they can help it. I also think his background experiences made it easier for him to adapt to the situation than it might otherwise have. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this story arc. It was a spur of the moment decision to include it in the first book... not what I originally intended, but I'm happy with my choice. Connor and Hugh are a great couple, and are another source for more mate energy.
