  1. Great to hear from you again, Dan. Unfortunately, the most important part of this chapter, the revealing of the cause and cure for the malaise, got lost in all the drama. I mean, it was understandable and even necessary given the strong feelings between Tobyn and Kellar, but the focus should have been more on the triumph of the day. Tobyn has been blindsided twice in one day, but who is to blame for that? I would say some of it rests with his stubborn approach to needing to sacrifice for the pack. He missed all the signs and that's on him. Yes, those words are troubling, but we have to hear from Tobyn to find out what they really mean. Thanks, buddy... I hope you are still enjoying this. Cheers! Gary....
  2. A good story is meant to be savored in my opinion. I've gotten caught up in stories to the point I am skimming chapters because I'm in a hurry to get to the end. That's rewarding too, but there is so much richness to be found in the details, and that means slowing down or rereading at a slower pace. Appreciate the kind words.
  3. He probably is. I'm not hearing much from him other than chapter likes.
  4. Everything Tobyn does is with the pack's resurrection in mind, so his feelings feel selfish to him. I'm sure that will get frustrating for readers, but Tobyn marches to his own drummer, and his happiness is secondary. Yeah... that gem... Lol. All of this doesn't mean he can control himself around Kellar... I love the 'blurting out' he does. Happy you are enjoying this, Terry. So am I.
  5. My favorite monent was the trust Tobyn's wolf displayed to Kellar on the rock. There is a bond building between them, a friendship that is certainly special to the one who has never really had friends before. My heart breaks for him sometimes. Answers are slow to come, and that is by design. There is a beauty in learning things organically... and dialogue is a great way to do that. Adelin is important to the pack, and I see her as a symbol of the direness of their situation. I enjoyed rereading this chapter, so thanks for that, my friend.
  6. I think Tobyn's thoughts about Tilly reveals a lot. It appears it is something new for them, and traditional in one sense of the word. I found it a lot of fun to write Tobyn's reaction to being in Kellar's embrace when he woke, and how it didn't really bother him as much as he would have thought. Glad you were amused... something is definitely happening. In life there are times we need something to occur in order to know if it feels right. Thanks, Terry.
  7. I felt it was time we got Tobyn's POV. I think it helped us understand him better, and where he is at, and why he feels the way he does. Glad you appreciated that, Dan. Telling an entire story from one POV is what I normally try to do now, but there are times the reader deserves that different perspective, straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
  8. Yes, it was Tim... and Kitt had a part in it too I think.
  9. OMG! I'm still crying. Wow. Thanks, Man.
  10. Also known as Nurse Ratshit.
  11. Great, now I will always have that song in my head whenever I read this chapter. Of course Kellar feels out of his element... and for more than one reason. Some readers thought Elinor was being pushy, but she is a leader and wants whatever is best for her pack. I think Kellar really likes her. You could probably make that 100% sure that Imma going to make you cry at some point. Binge reading is the best. I don't do it much anymore, but I used to love curling up with a good book and losing track of time. Now I feel guilty if I'm not writing. Thanks for another great comment. Keep 'em coming, buddy.
  12. I have a controlling share in the company.
  13. As I've said many times, a writer has to have his fun. I thought it appropriate their first meal together was rabbit... kudos to you for remembering Kellar's first meal as a wolf. No one else has made that connection. And is it the Lord who works in mysterious ways, or is it something else? Thanks, Terry. Rereading a story can add a depth and richness we might miss the first time around.
  14. Maybe something like this.
  15. Yeah, they are both young, but they are men who shoulder much responsibility. Glad you liked that glimpse into what Kellar can do. There is lots more information coming, but I tried to impart it naturally so it is easy to digest. Tobyn is obviously feeling something new... something for the big man who intrigues him in a confusing way. You could maybe expect Tobyn might not be ready for this change and what it might mean. Thanks for the great comment, Dan.
  16. Happy Saturday/Sunday, all!
  17. Sweet dreams, brother B.
  18. Even I am not that reckless.
  19. Good lad. You don't want to end up losing a couple of years of functionality. In hindsight, that was a bluefish ordeal I never want to relive.
  20. Lol. Perfectly understandable. We don't know the story yet of why Tobyn has ventured from his pack. Is Kellar who he was sent to find, or is he just a part of it? Lots of questions, but they will eventually followed by answers. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, my friend.
  21. Lol. As long as it's mutual.
  22. This was a short chapter, but there was so much to it. We see the strength Kellar's acquired is not just a physical one. The way he handles Warren walks a line, but he never crosses over it. We learn something important in that. Personally, I really felt that howl at the end, and may have practiced my own howl when I got to that part.
