    Yeah, Kellar's getting good at blindsides. I thought this was a feel good chapter too, so I'm pleased you felt that too. Warren has been changed by life, as is so often the case. Drugs are a hard road to get off of, but many do it every day. I love Warren and Adelin together... both are lucky to be alive, and are deserving of their second chances... and both thanks to Kellar.

    My new appliances are coming tomorrow. I cleaned out the fridge... stored some food in a mini fridge and my son's downstairs fridge. I think I'm all ready for them. My son is back from his vacation in Newfoundland. He loved it. His plane got in after one, and he got home at 4:30.

    I couldn't imaging Kellar letting that cabin go. I know he would have for Tobyn, but there was no way Tobyn was going to let him once he knew how he felt, and what the cabin meant to him. As far as telling Miss Sybil, they would have had to tell her Tobyn ripped Reznick's throat out, and that is something he is still dealing with. He isn't ready to share that with many others. But, yeah, it's great that she is seeing the return of her powers. It should be a boon to the pack. Denver's story was heartbreaking, but now we understand why he was so miserable to Kellar when they first met. He was grieving. Hunters have the upper hand, and that is scary. The boys need to be careful when they set out for Vega.

    I love writing their banter. They have become so comfortable with each other in such a short time. Elinor is awesome. I think I have a thing for writing good moms. Elinor is to be admired as much as loved. Thanks, buddy.

    Aww, thank you so much for these kind words, Dan. You've given me two amazing comments in a row, and they have made my day. Tobyn seeing the colors, and what that means to Kellar, gets me every time.

    I really did, didn't I? What a joy that was for me. Kellar probably put out of his mind just how bad Karen was, and this phone call brought it all back. Warren is in dire straits for sure, but now he has a lifeline. He made have done some truly dumb things, but he's not stupid. Fingers crossed.

    Whew! That really is an intense scene. And yeah, Kellar made the right choice. This is where his strength lies... in his pragmatic, methodical thinking. Tobyn must come first always. Thanks for the kind words, Terry.

    What a rewarding thing to hear. Writing a mystery was a whole new ball game for me, and you're right about the complexity, Dan. It had me so excited as I worked through each detail and realized I had something that made sense and could work. This is one of my favorite comments.

    Lol. All things come to those who wait. I love a good redemption story too, Dan. Warren has been a revelation, and now he has answered a question no shifter ever could. Did the earth mother choose him as Adelin's human mate for this reason, to finally give an advantage to her shifter children? I'm so proud of the copper/silver aspect. It was such an important piece to the story, and I was over the moon at figuring it out.

    The innocence, the vulnerability was what I wanted to show most. I was in Tobyn's head for this chapter, understanding how he would feel, so I think that is what made this scene work for me. This wasn't about sex at all, and I'm happy you felt that. Of course I wanted it to be erotic, but I wanted us to feel the other parts of this connection too. As complex as Tobyn appears sometimes, he is easy to get to know. Thanks for the kind words, buddy. Writing these scenes makes me feel vulnerable.

    I think it was fitting Tobyn felt the ire of the ladies. I guess this would be my second biggest cliffhanger, right? I wanted their joining beginning to be special despite the ugliness of what had just happened. Their interaction, especially Tobyn's, made this chapter work.

    Tobyn came a long way to making up for his reaction in running away. I love the guy... I have always loved the guy, so the fact he was capable of this didn't surprise me. He came through for his mate. But, he's not finished yet. Thanks, Terry.

    Really? Thank you. I guess why I think this is my best is because of how intricate it was to piece together, and how I had to make all the pieces fit. The pride I felt when I finally pulled it off has never left.

    This chapter was a perfect storm, and I fretted over how to tell it. There was no easy way, but the main thing is Kellar did something incredible... he discovered the cause and the cure for the malaise. Tobyn has been broadsided with more surprises, and I think he feels stupid as much as angry. We'll see. This was a chapter I worked towards for over a year, and I'm pleased with how it turned out, so thank you, Terry.

    Thanks, buddy. We see again just how out of his element Kellar is. We know Tobyn is being an ass, but we also know that it has just been him and his mother since he was five years old... and he is shook up that earth mates are not something of the past like he thought. He is truly shaken, and takes it out on the one who cares for him the most. This occurrence is a huge deal for the pack, and he needs to realize that.

    Hey, CG! Great to hear from you. This collection didn't garner much attention, but I write poetry for me, and I'm glad it may have spurred you to write. My violets have now run their course, but they are a constant that will be back next spring, in the same place they've been for 35 years. I'm constantly preparing myself for the eventual loss of my old mare, but I treasure each day I have her. Hope your melancholy eases, my dear friend. Thanks for checking in.

    Couldn't have said it better myself. This was a chapter that needed to happen, but remember... Tobyn will always be Tobyn.

    Nuance is such a great word, and especially important when it comes to writing. I know these two, Terry. I mean, in every way, I know and understand them. That might be my greatest strength as a writer... the depth to which my mind goes in exploring my characters. I think about them almost non stop before I begin telling their stories, and once that begins, I turn everything over in my head again and again, making sure they are being true to themselves.     Lol. Fair point. If you're going to do it, go big, right? And, you did get one sequel... but you can still be greedy. I kind of like it.

    Ideally, readers don't think about changes in POV. As much as I try to stick to one, at times it benefits the story to switch it up. Of course, the first chapter they meet was done in Tobyn's POV because it allowed me more freedom. I could have done it in Kellar's, but when weighed out, I chose Tobyn's voice. The insight into Tobyn's thoughts and feelings in this chapter let us understand him better. That's not to say readers aren't frustrated with his stance, but we can understand where it comes from... hopefully. Breaking point? Possibly...
