It's wonderful to see this, Paul. Poetry gives voice to what otherwise might be unsaid. I was in a reflective mood last night and this morning, and I am appreciative for my blessings. Ahhh... that feels so good.

Oh jeez... lots of tears for this one. When you're a writer, you have to be patient. I had this scene between Kellar and his grandfather in my head from the beginning, so when the time came to finally write it I was emotional to the nth degree. I agree with you that this was the best chapter of the story... special for so many reasons as we get answers we were waiting for. Hmmm. Maybe the earth mother did push me to write this. I can tell you I felt her presence many times. Thanks, buddy, for sharing your wonderful thoughts and kind praise. It truly means a lot.

Third coat done! I can now relax for the evening.

My order has been confirmed and delivery scheduled. Gave the pine floor a first coat, went out and got grain... and got more Varathane and sandpaper and gas for my lawn tractor, came back and sanded and applied another coat, and then mowed all the lawns. One more coat at 7:30. I'm busier than a one armed paper hanger.

Just checking in. Got my new pine floor interlaced with the old... looks great. I have to put four coats of finish on tomorrow. Spent the morning on the phone with Visa... called them because I got an email from BestBuy saying there was a problem with my order because of the bank...they ended up locking out my account because I couldn't answer some of their dumb questions because I couldn't get into my online banking because I was on my landline phone with them, and that's how I get my security code for banking. Guy wouldn't call me on my cell so I could hang up and get a new code. I asked to speak to someone else... manager finally came on and said it was too late to do anything. I argued and got him to ask me more questions after about twenty minutes of telling him how unfair they were, and how quick they were to do it, and that I was not going to travel into my bank to provide ID to get it unlocked! Long story short, I won... they're lucky they have my patronage and my money. What a bluefish day. Hope y'all are well.

Hey, wenmale! It does pull on the heartstrings at times, that's for sure. I've just reread the entire story with another reader, and I admit to more than a few teary moments. I do love the emotional side of stories, and I guess I will always be that kind of writer. Thanks so much for your kind words... they are something I need to hear every so often. Another stressful, wasted day on the phone and online. I finally gave up after placing the order through a representative with the same result. It cost me dearly, but I place an order with Best Buy. Almost five hundred dollars more but I went up two levels in the LG washtower (black steel color too ) because of availability. Site crashed at the end, so I had to start over. I'm paying more for delivery and more for recycling the old appliances, but I'm satisfied. May 30th is the tentative delivery date, and I got the fridge I wanted, that five other places didn't have. It looks sleek... hope I actually like it when it gets here.

Hey, all! Super frustrated. I have placed an order with Home depot online three times and it is not going through. My dryer went, so I decided to get an LG Washtower, and I need a new fridge so I ordered a Samsung French door/bottom freezer with no handles... very sleek looking according to my son. I am sick of trying to get my order through. It says my purchase was successful each time but it never gets processed. Arghhhh... two f'ing days of this crap.
