    No new kittens. I don't think the gray one is pregnant, and the other female was killed on the road a while back. She would have had kittens first, judging by her size.

    Just had a great walk, but man, is is hot out. Lots of birdsong, and no bears. I thought I saw a turtle but it was just a flat rock.

    One in the morning and I just back in from checking on the new kittens... for about the eight time. I am such a worrier... and a sap. Anyway, there's three, and they all look healthy.

    No, Albert, they are not first cousins... they are not related at all. Gisla/Gigi was Elinor's best friend and Esther was Miss Sybil's best friend. Tobyn's father was another shifter, killed when a tractor flipped over, and Kellar's father was a healer Gisla met in her search for her earth mate, likely in New Brunswick where Kellar was found in the car seat in the ditch. We can assume he was her earth mate. So Fendral, who lost all his children, and his wife, is Gisla's father, and therefore Kellar's grandfather.

    This is beautiful, if a little sad too. I will try to be happy some were able to find each other.

    New mother had kittens right beside my garbage bins. I think she's finished now... I count three for sure but there could be four. I covered the area with plywood I leaned against the bins, and she didn't seem to mind. She will likely move them anyway, but she seems unconcerned... and tired. That makes seven or eight new kittens so far.

    So am I, Albert. There is just something about Connor... maybe it's about what he has suffered in his short life, or maybe it's how he is still able to lead with his heart despite the abuse he suffered. And... there is a new baby to come.

    I love love love this chapter. Connor is a very special young man, and who wouldn't like Hugh. Kellar was right... this might have been their best work to date. Thanks, buddy.
