  1. Thanks, Terry. That is a wonderful thing to hear about a poem written with wretched fear. Unfortunately, even teachers are becoming muzzled now.
  2. "This too shall pass" is something we all have to keep in mind when things get really tough. It was not easy to see the positive of that time, though. I am thankful, too, Terry, and hope we never have to feel that despair of isolation again. It's a poem I can now take some solace from.
  3. She would, but you take up most of her time.
  4. The devil has his ways.
  5. Who said she married him. 😇
  6. Is that anyway to talk to your father?
  7. Wearing Bondi Beach speedos.
  8. Have a great day, all. Still Bluefish sore today.
  9. Why do I picture crocodiles, snakes, and huge spiders in your backyard? Be careful out there, bro.
  10. Thanks. I've lost many over the years, but I will never get used to it.
  11. I love when readers respond with poetry... and it is not pitiful at all. Good poetry has a message, and I hear yours. This was a hard poem to write in that I felt such anguish at the time. Even more, I was horrified. In some ways, I have become numb, and I think that is how many of us cope. Thanks, Terry.
  12. Yeah, there was rage... and fear... and a sense of disbelief that this situation could even exist. I believed I was seeing the beginning of the end of a civilization, like what has happened so many times before. Is there a way out? Do we even deserve to carry on when we are so warped and cruel? Thanks, Terry. I'm glad the worst of the pandemic is over, but I take no comfort because the political morass still exists. Cheers. G.
  13. Thanks, Terry. The pandemic was truly frightening, and it was a real lesson in how can politics overrule common sense and science. It was rather shocking, and very, very sad. There was a blatant cruelty in attitudes and decisions made by some of those in power, and that made me think we might be doomed if another pandemic comes along. We seem to learn nothing, with some sides still at odds with truth, trying to push the narrative that the lies were not lies. Appreciate your thoughts, buddy.
  14. Did some renovating yesterday that had me on my hands and knees and in awkward positions for the most part... no... not the fun kind... and I am unbelievably sore today. I thought this morning was bad but now it's even worse. Getting old. Doesn't seem fair because I walk every day and constantly do chores. I guess it's true that if you don't use it, you lose it.
  15. She was really pretty. Skittish at times but friendly, and liked to be petted. Gorgeous, sleek coat, and one of my all time favorites. She was always watching me, and that reminded me of Falkor.
  16. Have an awesome day, all! I lost a cat yesterday. She was hit by a car.
  17. Have an awesome day, all!
  18. Happy Birthday, Spikeman!
  19. Um... yeah... you just go ahead and leave any light on that you want, Val. Seriously, though, I totally understood this guy's frustration, and dreams are just dreams. Still, we should listen to them... to a point... and not a knife point. Clever take on the prompt, and of course well written. Thanks for this. Cheers!
  20. My inspiration for Hank from "Endings".
