  1. I do have a lot of poetry to search, but I knew where this one was. https://gayauthors.org/story/headstall/cozy-contemplations/33
  2. Happy Sunday/Monday, all! Chilly day here.
  3. Good to know, buddy. Every so often I go back to these guys. I suspect there are millions of real stories of the difficulties of transitioning out of the closet and facing up to who we are. I find a sweetness here in them revisiting the place it all fell apart in confusion. Thanks for being considerate in coming back and leaving a comment. Cheers!
  4. Thanks, Terry. This is one of my favorite things I have ever written, maybe even my very favorite. Yes, it is a snapshot, one that holds real love for the person who lives in those memories. It was meant to be a poem, but I'm glad I chose this way to express my thoughts instead. I did write a poem later, though. I appreciate any attention this little offering gets... so thanks again, my friend.
  5. I think too many of us connect with this in a very personal way, and I am sad for that. It is a time period impossible to forget, which makes the advancements, the cocktail, all the sweeter. Some of the most talented men in all factions of industry were lost, and I wonder what some of them could have been. It could have been a much different world now, and I am still bitter at the lack of compassion our community withstood. Thank you for reading and commenting, Terry. And remember that Michael is still a glorious going concern. Miracles did happen.
  6. Just had my toughest walk in memory... walked two and a half kilometers out which was just fine, and then turned around. I went about ten steps before the wind started howling and ice needles and snow started coming at me. The wind was so strong it kept twisting Preston the walking stick around in my hand. In no time, you couldn't tell my jacket was plaid. It was covered in white snow that can't be wiped or shook off... I have it hanging over a heat register now. I had to keep my head down and chin tucked the whole way back, all while leaning forward against the wind. Bluefish crazy!
  7. Happy Saturday/Sunday, all. Just had a crazy, swirling snow squall that abruptly ended. It was eerie because it was what I described in one scene in "Chrisis Eve".
  8. My candy is blueberries and raspberries. ... oh, and 90% dark chocolate.
  9. I'm okay, clo. Life has its ups and downs, and I have been struggling with one of those down times, but I'm making headway. It's easier for me to keep to myself while I work things out. Cookie is great, but I feel like I'm on a death watch for my mare. She's had her thirtieth birthday, and that is a rarity for horses, especially mares. I swear I check on her thirty/forty/fifty times a day. I don't want her to die in her stall because that would cause problems in getting her out, but I don't want to leave her out except for a few hours a day in the sun. She can't handle the cold like she used to.
  10. Happy Friday/Saturday, all.
  11. It's 10C here. I had a really enjoyable 4K walk. Sunny the whole time, and there is a creek that is now almost completely free of snow and ice. I could see right to the bottom.
  12. Happy Thursday/Friday, all.
  13. "It's been eight years since GA has featured a poetry anthology, so if you'd like to see them continue, please consider participating and supporting this one." @Valkyrie I have spent the last couple of days writing poetry in order to support this revived and important anthology. I should have at least some of it in before the due date.
  14. I'm right with you, Tink.
  15. Safe travels, little buddy.
  16. Happy Wednesday/Thursday, all. Just got back from my 3K walk in the cold. Brisk but sunny.
  17. I can't wait for flowers... especially all my lilac trees.
  18. Hello, all. Another sprinkling of snow last night. Be well.
  19. Love the fountain and the cacti.
