  1. It was family day today in Canada, and my daughters and two grandkids(5 and 14) surprised me with a visit. My younger daughter stayed late and I made us poutine.
  2. Cole never disappoints. I started this story back when it first posted, but life got in the way and I'm not sure I ever finished it. That needs to be rectified at some point.
  3. This is the last of my five paranormal works, so I will stop boring you all now. It's a short one I wrote for my very first anthology, and one that gave me some much needed courage to branch out and try new things. If I've learned anything with these trips back in time, it is that my writing has been varied, and while I have many who would never read my stuff... different strokes for different folks... I have always tried my best to create something beautiful. Thank you to @Albert1434 and @raven1 for nominating three of my five paranormal works.
  4. Thank you, Ford! I know exactly the feeling you are talking about. I feel the same when I write the final paragraph in all my stories. You are very kind in your description of my writing. I do work very hard at trying to get each detail right in the hopes readers will feel like they are right there with the characters, so I would be very thankful if you could leave a Story Like, Story Recommendation, and Story Review. These things keep me motivated to keep writing as well as creating new interest in this story, and I ask most readers for these, but my success rate is not that high. A review could be this comment, copied and pasted, or just a word or two saying you enjoyed the story. The other things are just a couple of clicks. That said, I appreciate you reading and leaving such a wonderful comment, and I hope you enjoy my other stuff. I would suggest "Boundaries: An Old West Tale" if you want to read another western. Cheers! Gary.
  5. This has been fun. My eyes are about to fall out of my head from reading, but this is another I haven't read in a long long time. Got my heart racing. Mommy, is there really a Santa Claus? Here is the link if anyone is interested...
  6. @Albert1434 Thank you!
  7. Hey, all! I've been doing a lot of reading today, mostly my own work. I just finished "Gone Fishing". Grandma is one of my all time favorite characters even though we don't actually get to meet here. Here's the link if anyone wants to read or reread it...
  8. I just finished rereading this story called "Lifting the Veil". I'd completely forgotten about it, and I don't think I'd visited it in years. I thought I'd only written one paranormal story (Morningstar), but the new poll got me thinking, and it turns out I've written five, if I count "Gone Fishing", which I do. The other ones are "Chrisis Eve", a Christmas story, and "The Light". Check this one out if you are looking for something different, but short.
  9. Hope you feel good soon. Is your nuke pushing finger in good shape?
  10. Happy Sunday, all. If you're interested, you can now nominate your favorite paranormal stories for the Reader's Choice Awards on the forums page.
  11. Happy Saturday, all! Leafs made a big trade last night.
  12. You're a good son.
  13. Good news, Drewbear!
  14. Bluefish cold morning, but it's a little warmer now. I'm leaving my mare out for a few hours, but tonight might be another chilly one. Hey, B bro.
  15. Love is beautiful...
  16. Beautiful man and beautiful words. Thanks, clo.
  17. 4K walk today. Chilly and dreary, but it was really cool to hear ice cracking in a field. Very loud and took me a minute to figure out what it was. I also saw two crows as big as hawks overhead.
  18. @Drew Espinosa How is your dad doing today? And are you feeling any better? Take care, little buddy.
  19. You are not foolish at all. I know very well how age difference can work in a perfectly wonderful way. Hold onto what you have, my friend, and don't question it as long as you are happy. Thank you for sharing.
