Thank you so much, Tony. I am thankful for the support this poem has received. Cheers!

    Chapter 1

You are so sweet, my friend. No one was more joyful than me that I started writing again. I am not a violent person at all, but am no shrinking violet either. I warned him, but it fell on deaf ears, much like everything else before that day. Still, I am not proud of how we ended. I like what you say about freedom. The pain was definitely worth it, even though it wrecked me after the fact. It was an important lesson to learn about myself. Turns out I was more like my mother than I ever would have thought. Thank you so much for your kind words, FanLit. You always manage to lift me up. Cheers!

    Chapter 1

Hey, Bill! I expected I wasn't alone in this experience. I think maybe in our community especially, there is disillusionment and bitterness when it comes to navigating love. The parameters of it can be so varied and different, with opportunities literally around every corner. If this little poem helps open others' eyes to their unhealthy situations, then I am well pleased. Thanks for taking the time to read and support. Cheers!

    Chapter 1

Thank you, Mrsgnomie! I had hoped readers would relate to this one. You're right about love clouding our vision in such a way that, in hindsight, can seem ridiculous... even pathetic to the victim. The experience forever changed me... and caution became my companion. Appreciate the kind support. Cheers!

    Chapter 1

Thank you, Terry! This was actually the first thing I wrote after an extended period of brain fog and lassitude from covid. Poetry is an important outlet for me, and I appreciate this one had a powerful impact on you. Cheers!
  7. Aloha, Albert.
  8. Me three.
  9. I don't drink... hardly ever... but my son is picking me up a six-pack of Corona and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. It should be fun.
  10. I didn't get everything done I wanted to today, but I said Screw It! Put my hammer down and got in the shower. Now I'm going to cook something and eat and relax. My kids and grandkids are coming tomorrow afternoon for a BBQ and an overnight camp out. Campfire and drinks. The four grandkids and one couple are sleeping inside... my son and his girlfriend in their apartment... and the other two couples in tents because they love camping.

  12. Smart man.
  13. Some people... if you give them an inch they'll take a mile. You be your bad self, Tink!
  14. Happy Friday, all! Another day of tedious work ahead, but I'm getting close to being done.
  15. Aloha, Albert!
  16. That's my kind of meal, B. Sweet dreams!
  17. Thanks, Albert.
  18. The anthology has gone live. I hope some of you will check out the anthology, and the two poems I wrote that are included this week.
  19. Fellow readers, check this out. It's a wonderful if sad story, with some social commentary thrown in. Wouldn't we all like to escape to a world of magic when the realities of being different weighs us down? W_L does a great job of making us think, dream, and reflect on what is important in life. Cheers!

    Promises to Keep

Sweet and sad, but innovative too. I felt the boy's loneliness and despair at feeling so different from other boys. He was fortunate to have found love in such a magical way. The hare gave him an identity he sorely needed, and it was especially sad it was his father who destroyed what they had. The scene of the dead hare clutching his photo was a powerful moment. Well done, W_L. Cheers, and thanks for writing this. G.

  22. What Aaron said! And a special thanks to @Valkyrie and @Parker Owens for proofing my stories, and to the authors who delivered, and the readers who support. Cheers!
  23. Me too! I'm in the midst of renovations for my family room, but I got one read, commented, and reviewed earlier. It was a wonderful start to my day. Might need a short nap before I read another.
  24. Ode to a Love Lost, but Never Forgotten It would have been twenty years today If we'd kept our promises Despite those obstacles We could have shared those twenty years Of Birthdays, Christmases And sequestered movie nights We could have celebrated those twenty years Surrounded by real friends Who welcomed our truth We could have prevented those twenty years Of deprived and troubled hearts And living wi
