I like it, but the stuff we have in the cupboard is old - bought by my mom because my SiL likes it - so it’s not going to get used, and I doubt I’d actually buy it myself.
-
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that next time.
-
Thank you! I did not know avocado is so mild compared to olive oil - good to know.
-
The phrase “igloo chic” popped into my brain when I read your question. Am I close?
-
I hadn’t thought swapping out ingredients. I like agave , but avocado not so much. I wonder if there’s another oil that would work?

Okay, so I made “ @Mikiesboy’s” strawberry oatmeal bars today. Let me start out by saying there were some missteps along the way. The first baking pan I tried was a bit too large (8x11) for the dough that I produced - seemed a mite too sticky in my opinion, because I might or might not have used a wee bit too much honey - so I switched to an 8x8 pan. I chopped the strawberries rather than just slicing them, which turned out to be a good thing because a good masher I do not possess. The crumble for the top was troublesome because of it being sticky, but I compensated for that with large flake oatmeal - that worked. Bottom line: I just tried a piece after letting it cool, and boy is it delicious! Making this again, I am.

That is sweet. Nice the student was appreciative.

Idiots like this are truly frustrating and annoying - you have to wonder how they’ve managed to get this far in life without the bottom falling out. Just keep telling yourself 4 pm is almost here, and the weekend looks nice with sun and temps in the 60s - yeah, I can’t do celsius when it comes to temperature...

He should take his own advice, and see where that gets him. Where’s the “slap him silly” line? I want to join it.
-
They’re all good, but #9 gave me a really good chuckle, because it’s true.
-
It’s good to hear from you, Chris. We miss you. Take care.
-
Does it help to know you’ve saved a sponge - mine - from meeting the same ghastly fate?
-
No worries, your answer was delivered and received.
-
Good to know as I have all three sizes. Thanks, Mike, and thank tim for me, too.
-
@Mikiesboy I just watched the strawberry oatmeal bar demo again, so of course I want to make it. Just one question, because it’s not stated in the video. Is that a 9 x 13 pan he’s using?
-
I don’t know, but I kind of like your thought process. Good things - because they’re both good albeit, not together - is a nice “go to” rather than seeing the not so nice.
-
I’ve got them saved, too. Now, all I need is an Instant Pot.
-
And @Mikiesboy generously shares his knowledge with us. Lucky, we are.

Not exactly warm where I am either.

Full disclosure: I didn’t like borscht before I had this version of it. He also makes Moosewood pumpkin soup which is quite good. Just to give you an idea of how long ago this was. You could only find the Moosewood cookbooks in a little bookstore off Yonge Street. Edit: Moosewood is vegetarian that’s why there’s no meat.
-
It’s been quite a long time since I’ve had this version, but this is one my brother makes. It’s outstanding, imo. https://www.copymethat.com/r/03lbdAteU/moosewood-cookbook-borscht/

Too much talking? No way, tim. We’re learning a lot!
-
Lucky you, that must have been quite the sight.

I started buying greek yogurt, because I read that it was healthier than the other yogurt you can buy. I think I’m going to do a bit of research on this, and I’m also going to try the cheesecloth method for removing the whey. Now, I just need to find a good soup recipe...
-
Me neither. @Mikiesboy Thanks for putting us in the know.
