The other story is a very interesting tale. There is a lot of history intertwined in the tale. You might want to check it out, @Bill W. A large part of it takes place in Israel and is filled with intrigue.

Growing up on the West Coast, my first experience was fireworks on the 4th. Living in Thailand now, I see fireworks for four holidays. I always look forward to them, even if my cat does not.

I enjoyed this short tale. It read more like a parable than a sermon. I understand the points the old man made and understand his concern. However, I think his young friend was correct in his solution. People are still trying to put Christ back into Christmas. I offer this as proof: -

Things are getting back to paranormal normal for Greg and the gang. With the rapid expansion of staff, there will be a lot of construction going on, so it is great that David was brought into the inner circle. I like how he supports his sons' choices should they be turned. Brian seems to be the only one with a bit of a problem with his family, but he may also be the next winner of a fated mate with Jenny. I do agree with @drsawzall opinion that Jake will be the first of the friends to be turned. He has wanted this from almost the moment he first learned about the vampire world.

Probably the difference is exactly what you mentioned. Firecrackers are legal, popular and inexpensive where I live. My cat doesn't look for places to hide; she already knows them all. The comforter is her favourite because it gives one more layer of soundproofing.

You are correct about Benjamin and Joseph appearing in that story. It's a great story that could also be considered as a spy novel. Although I love fireworks, I am also concerned about the effect it has on animals like birds and dogs. My poor cat ends up under the comforter in the back bedroom whenever fireworks go off in the neighbourhood.

My favorite part is Max telling Stacy to let the boys and Harry do the work, convincing Michael and Charlie to go out to see the carnival and fireworks. Max was so right!
