Maddox is very stupid for such an intelligent guy. He says the wrong things everytime he makes a small step forward with Jonathan. His words imply that hooking up with Jonathan is only a small, temporary involvement of no lasting consequence to Maddox. That's exactly why Jonathan says they could never work out. Maddox just proved Jonathan was right. Jonathan isn't any better. Have you all noticed that they both fuzzy their brains with lust prior to serious talks. It's too bad they are not both telepaths, because when they speak to themselves in their minds, they are much more honest and forthcoming than what they say with their mouths. At times these two act more like hormonal 14 year olds than juniors in college. Hannah's observations of Maddox are enlightening.

At time these two seem to be playing a game daring each other to see who can hold their hand above the candle the longest. If Maddox wants more, he's got to prove he can also provide more. Jonathan doesn't want to be hurt, but avoidance doesn't guarantee a pain free life. Jonathan needs to risk his heart in order to find his love.

I am enjoying the comments. The date started very awkwardly and the conversation was frustrating. That's probably because these two minds are so fuzzy with lust, they can barely function in a normal conversation. If Maddox left of the "right now" part, he would have made a clear statement that this was more than a temporary situation for him. Had Maddox jumped on the word "curiosity" and explained his interest was much more serious, then Jonathan would be less likely to this was a passing fancy. Things did get better and the conversation improved. Like Jonathan, I have never met a hetrosexual guy who turned gay for just one guy. I never heard of one, except in gay fiction. I do know how to employ suspension of disbelief, however. Stories would be sooo boring if readers can't do that. Maddox is trying, but Jonathan believes anything said only applies to the next month. The sex afterwards was instigated by Jonathan, and if he didn't learn something from that about Maddox, then Jonathan needs to get his malfunctioning brain fixed. I'm gay and didn't swallow my first time! Hot as hell!

Nope! Don't think so, at least where Jonathan is concerned. As far as Maddox is concerned, the next month is his chance change Jonathan's perceptions and learn about the real Maddox. He isn't going to let that go. I am glad that Maddox is at least intrigued by what he learns from Kane in their discussion. At least he is willing to listen and think about sexual behaviors that initially are uncomfortable to his way of thinking. Maddox needs to use his communication skills with Jonathan now and not just his friends if he really wants something more than a sexual romp. Jonathan has a lot to work out himself. It would be good if he could talk honestly with Ray to get some feedback, or Maddox to learn more about Maddox's wants and expectations.

This is a delightful, short summer read, and a great introduction to the other Ravello books.

Bella Vacanza was all you and the title promised. Reza certainly learned the many important things he related to Angelo and Gianni when he said goodbye to them. I think both Otto and Reza will always remember their first time together fondly for the rest of their lives. I too love the magic of Ravello and hope to visit again this wonderful town.
