I certainly would not forgive Ron. He was a prick during the Tri-Wizard Tournament and has failed to support Harry too many times in the past. I think that the wand breaking was all for show. Faulks will make sure the new wand still has his feather. Tonks will take Harry to Olivander's to get the replacement wand. I wonder if Draco realized what is happening and has returned home waiting for Harry to explain his actions.

Richard may have not been Harry's and Draco's choice as a roommate, but I don't think he is a bad guy. Harry did many things that may have convinced Richard that it is good to separate their worlds, but also a way to somehow cooperate. I'm thinking that a special hospital for muggles, run by wizards would work.

Written before the last books of Harry Potter were out, this gives an interesting change to the Potter universe. Harry is a much more integrated Gryffindor/Slytherin that can stand up on his own. His personality is more dominate over others and filled with less anxiety that JKR's universe. I enjoyed reading this different Harry, and can recommend this book. It is a very good read.

Nice ending except for Ron's tracking and the Dark Lord still around.

With the Dark Lord out of the country you would think it would ease some of the pressures on Harry. Unfortunately, it seems he is subjected to even more stress.

I am happy that Neville will have a son to carry on the family name and place in wizarding society. It was noble of Ron to offer to raise the child as his own. Severus is proving to be a good mentor for Harry.

Harry is no longer a teenager, but an evolving young man. He is now a synthesis of his commitments and traits as both a Gryffindor and Slytherin but now more equally balanced. I don't like that Dumbledore is manipulating Ron to spy on Harry. Dumbledore seems a bit jealous of Harry's power and Harry's determination of using that power.

Harry was left smiling after reading The Daily Prophet??? That's a miracle. It certainly isn't the same rag featured in JKR's universe.

Lestrange was finally killed in this battle, but she also effectively ended the Longbottom family line. Neville's death was something I didn't like. I think Neville was Harry's most loyal friend and deserved better.

Ron may have come around and now is again someone I can like. He however has paid a price, he lost Hermione to Neville. I hope he gets a chance to help in Harry's rescue. Maybe he can finally make amends with Draco also.

The battle went well for the school, but not for Harry. I hope Ron gets better and doesn't end up like Neville's parents. It looks like the Defenders are going out to rescue Harry. I wish them success.

I don't like that Ron and Harry are on the outs with each other. Hopefully this is temporary and can be written off to their youth and anger problems. I did like the like the news article and Harry's reward to Draco. Had me laughing!

The discussion in the Slytherin common room were very interesting as people exchanged ideas. I think it was more like a brainstorming session where people expressed their concerns and ideas to address them. I can see many good points being expressed. That Harry was open to them, helps the Slytherins to trust Harry. The idea of separating the two worlds is not offensive, since it would basically have favoured the muggle world. The problem of muggleborn witches and wizards has many possible solutions, so further discussion and brainstorming will be needed to gain an acceptable resolution. I like that Professor McGonagall is more approachable and emotional that JKR's professor. Another very good chapter.

The battle for the flag was magnificent. Cyrus was right that Vincent wouldn't let Kaplan be left out, but Cyrus got a big surprise when Kaplan walked in and challenged the biggest, baddest wolf in the room. Kaplan's plan to distract his love worked, and gained the respect of both teams by his sacrifice. Great chapter! The infighting and politics aside the game was excellent. The aftermath leaving the bear and wolf sleeping in front of a fireplace was a nice coda to end the chapter.- 24 comments
