  1. it wasn't too bad, she whined, & i didn't apologize but said told her firmly that i need to do those steps to name the file correctly & attach it to the project file we'll see if she actually stops doing it
  2. oh good for you @Mikiesboy 💛 well done!
  3. i can't hear or see this word without hearing Eliza Doolittle when she first comes to Professor Higgins' place "I want to be a lady in a flower shop stead of selling at the corner of Tottenham Court Road. But they won't take me unless I can talk more genteel." it's such a good word!
  4. 😒 allergic to confrontation, even when it's to tell someone to stop doing something that's MY task the next 30 minutes or so may be uncomfortable......
  5. do what you need to do, take care of yourself. i'm just a PM or email away if you need anything love & hugs
  6. thank you, tim i think they're pretty special
  7. thank You Michael Sir i hope that our kids know, like Your "neurotic nephew," that they can call us anytime, about anything that just because they don't live with us, we'll still be there
  8. thanks Wayne there are several things that i used to do, that there just hasn't been room, or time for that it will be good to explore again
  9. thank you Parker
  10. it is bittersweet Sir they've just become really interesting, lol! i think, like all parents, we just hoped they'd be able to think for themselves, find someone to love, and a career that's fulfilling, i think we did OK. thank You for Your kind words
  11. IT has been in my computer ALL. DAY. makes for slow going today hope all y'all are having a good day
  12. my mind went wandering today... Having a tall son means that the windows of your SUV get cleaned well while he pumps gas Having mostly grown kids means you can say "This house needs cleaned up" & no one asks "What do you want us to do?" Daughter started assigning jobs & they got busy (ok there was some sighing & eye rolling). Having mostly grown kids who can think for themselves (mostly, lol!) means they know to take the big trash can to the curb when you say "i need someone to come take the trash out." Having mostly grown kids means that the laundry gets done without intense supervision Having mostly grown kids who all have jobs means that when you leave something they needed off the grocery list, they say “That’s ok Ma. I’ll order it from Amazon.” Having mostly grown kids means you can share questionable online jokes and memes Having mostly grown kids who all have jobs means they’ll spring for lunch when you’re out running errands. Having mostly grown kids means hugs and cuddles are fewer and farther between. but when they come, they’re a little bit sweeter. Having mostly grown kids means they need less and less from me. Having mostly grown kids means that soon they’ll all be gone from home. Having mostly grown kids means that my job description is changing, and i don't know how i feel about that.
  13. i feel a blog coming on...... hope everyone is having a good day, whether at home or work

  20. when you get home from work, dog tired but the kids have already ordered dinner
  21. well, other than i really, REALLY, didn't want to get up this morning i'm doing well thanks
  22. it saddens me to hear about your experiences with violence and that this is what you got from this chapter. tim writes with a great deal of "real world" & these attitudes mentioned in the story are prevalent in the media in the US, probably in Canada as well. tim would never write in such a way as to condone violence. it's not in him to do so.
