    Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Tareth. Tareth had been... here... the whole time. At my Mas—Barrett's—enemy's home. I pulled both my feet up on the cot and wrapped my arms around my knees. He'd been safe, and well, all these years. Thank the Gods. A relieved tear slipped down my cheek. I'd always worried that he had suffered at the hands of another arrogant aristocrat. I hadn't had much contact with the upper echelon, but those I had were much the same as the Marquis—The Earl of Huxton, Baroness DeLyle

    Epilogue

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know it was a painful read (painful to write too!), I'm rather known for angsty reads, I think. But I almost always try to have a HEA.

    Chapter 13

    Hehe, it's not Tareth.

    Chapter 13

I figured you all might notice that play on his name. Kye really does need some downtime from the whirlwind of the day, but he's not going to get it yet, even if things are looking up for him.

    Chapter 13

Ha! You think I'm giving him downtime yet? Hehe... They have a spy to catch!

    Chapter 13

That is exactly what needs to happen, drawing out the spy. While he is reunited with his brother, getting time to talk is still going to be an issue.

    Chapter 13

Why a cliffhanger? Because I'm the cliffy queen! Ashton has been very standoffish with Kye so far, partly because he's been worried about his brother, but also because Kye has been very closed off and he's unsure of Kye's loyalties yet. Next chapter a lot more will come to light.

    Chapter 13

Parker (my awesome beta) is the one to thank for the 'period' curses. He's amazing at picking out where I've let more modern terms slip in. I'm sure everyone was waiting for Tareth to show up And, you're right, things are looking a little better for Kye. It's just going to take a while for him to realize it.

    Chapter 13

Hehe, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Now it's time to work on catching 'Lee'

    Chapter 13

You are most definitely correct But the next few chapters will focus on capturing 'Lee' before Kye gets any real downtime with Tareth.

    Chapter 13

    Of course he would!

    Chapter 13

Sorry about the delay. Last Thursday I realized I hadn't sent the next chapters to Parker and Caz for review and I was heading out of town for a state gymnastics meet. Fortunately, my beta and editor are so AWESOME they were able to get it back to me pretty quickly. I just didn't have internet to post it. I'm so glad you are enjoying it. I'll try very hard not to do that to you again!

    Chapter 14

Chapter 14 "Kye..." Tareth's voice begged my attention, but acknowledging him meant letting him know what I was, what I'd become. And that was one thing I couldn't face. "Kye, please..." "Reth, go get Dr. Fulbert," Lord Ashton interceded on my behalf. "He collapsed a few minutes ago." "What's wrong with him? Why is he here? What happened?" Tareth fired questions at his viscount, and I was shocked Lord Ashton allowed the insolent tone that was bordering on accusation. Tareth didn't see

    Chapter 13

Chapter 13 "Oh fucking hell..." I vaguely heard a curse float around the room. I flinched, tightening my boneless body into a ball to create a small strike zone. I'd broken. I'd been weak. I was a pathetic, undisciplined whore, as Master always said I was. And now Lord Ashton knew it. I wanted to disappear into the soft carpet, to hide from the contempt I'd see in those beautiful eyes at my failing. At least I'd finally imparted the information I'd been holding so close. Maybe he cou

    Chapter 12

As always, I take every review to heart, and I will certainly keep your review in mind when I re-edit the story after it is complete. Once it's done, I'll be able to have a better sense of how it all flows together. I am getting the sense from several others that the pacing is okay though. But every opinion and review is very important to me, and many point out things I hadn't picked up on before. So I will definitely re-evaluate it. Thank you. I hope I haven't turned you off the story completely. Stick with me?

    Chapter 12

Very true. You know me well. There's a lot going on in the next two chapters, with information spillage between Kye and Ashton especially.

    Chapter 12

Thanks! There is a lot more psychological aspect to this one with the single first person POV. I had considered switching, but Parker and I thought just the one POV would work best. It makes some things harder, but I'm liking it this way.

Aww, thank you so very much!

    Chapter 12

Showing Ashton's true feelings and mindset up until now is difficult with the single POV, since it's all how Kye perceives it. I've tried to give a couple hints of Ashton's interest before (in the garden, when he talks about Kye's eyes...) but maybe I'll need to go back and see if I and hint a little more. As for the Lees, now that Ashton knows, finding Lee will be the next trick.

    Chapter 12

No, it's not over yet as they still have to figure out who Lee is.
